Default Ever have that feeling..

Yeh so anyway, let me tell you a little story.

At the age of 8 I broke my arm in P.E. (Physical Education.. Gym). It was not P.E. at school, but separate (spare time) because my parents thought I needed exercise. One day when my mother woke me up to drive me to the gym, but my grandma (I swear this really happened) intervened and told my mother that I should better not go to gym that day, because she had a dream that I'd break my leg.

However, I kept on nagging and nagging and eventually my mother + grandma drove me to the gym. Guess what?

No, I did not break my leg. I broke my arm. Funny thing is, that after 2 minutes I broke it my mother + grandma entered the gym. When I asked them why they came back, my mother said that my grandma "knew something happened".

I never really thought about it, until a few weeks ago at school when I was walking down the stairs (I had detention.. teehee ****ing overpowered teachers) and I had this feeling as if I had to turn back. I checked if I had forgotten something but couldn't find any, and just when I proceeded to walk down the stairs, I had the feeling again. For the sake of it I went back to the class room, remembering the thing that happened when I was 8, thus thinking something had happened to the teacher or whatever. Well, nothing happened (alas) and the teacher gave me a surprised look. So I walked out of the class room somewhat laughing at myself when suddenly I heard the teacher choke. I went back and yup, the teacher was choking. Eventually I ended up calling 112 seeing as I don't know about that Heimlich crap (which resembles 911 in America, a special phone number for emergencies).

Anyway, when I got a call from my parents asking me what was taking me so long I suddenly remembered a dream I had last night about the teacher choking. I explained everything to my parents and went home.

When I got home I asked my parents if they ever had a dream that came true. I got bull**** answers because I didn't phrase it correctly so I referred to my accident when I was 8 and re-phrased the question.

My grandma said she has had one more for as far as she remembers. This was wayyy back (say, 30+ years) when my aunt (7 or 8 at that time) would be joining another friend, from who's dad would be having a soccer game. In the break they would visit the playground. My grandma dreamt about my aunt having a serious accident in the playground, so she didn't allow her to go with her friend. Next day, my grandma went shopping and took my aunt with her, who kept on nagging and nagging because she didn't want to wait in queue. So my grandma promised her that she could visit the playground when she was done shopping.

Later that day, she finished shopping and they went to the playground. She fell off the swings. Nothing serious, but as she raised her head the swing swung back and hit her head - K.O. and a heavy concussion.

I don't really know what conclusion to draw from all this. So perhaps it would be best if a conclusion/statement could be drawn from this and then be discussed.

Gogogo?

I dreamt about being near an erupting volcano and having rocks falling around me and earth shaking and people around getting smashed by the said rocks.

I agree but when theese prementions happen you cant help but think that there was something behind it. Maybe there is but it is near impossible to prove.

It's cool. I know that there's nothing scientific about it and that there's almost certainly no supernatural force going on, but it is fun to just wonder if there is.

You said exactly what I was going to say Guido...

In our lives, we have so many feelings one way or the other, we're eventually going to get one or two of them correct. And those are what we'll remember.

Reminds me of George Carlin and his skit on "God, the Sun, and Joe Pesci." I suggest anyone interested in this topic download it. If you are interested in it and can't download it, let me know on AIM and I'll send it to you. He basically says that he stopped believing in God and started worshipping the Sun, because you can actually see it. But for his wishes/miracles, he prays to Joe Pesci. And whether it is God or Joe Pesci, his wishes are granted at about a 50/50 rate.

I've had some pretty sad dreams. I've had a dream where I was attending my grandma's funeral (who is still alive), and also attending my mom's funeral (this was when I found out she had breast cancer and I thought she was gonna die). I'm pretty sure I had a dream about my dad dying too. It's freaky cause they all seemed so real, and when I woke up I was as relieved as ever that it was just a dream. My mom never died of breast cancer, and my dad and grandma are still alive (I had these dreams quite awhile ago). You can't fight the inevitable though - obviously someday I will be attending all their funerals.

It's interesting to think that people's dreams could be prophetic. Perhaps a kind of gift some people would have. Reminds me of the movie minority report.

I once had a dream where i was a secret agent and i got caught, and then they took a razor and cut my arm. I woke up bleeding.

I probably cut myself in my sleep and had a dream about it or something. Still i was very shocked.

This is the most common one. If you piss in your dreams, you piss in reality. In fact, my brain actually acknowledged this once, and I woke up just before I took a piss in my dreams. When I came around I found my bladder was doing the internal organ equivalent of dancing. I darted to the washroom really fast (or however fast someone who just woke up could go) and took one of the most reliving leaks ever. Checked the bed, it was dry, and I felt supreme.

But dreams are damn interesting, and are worth a topic of their own.

things like this happen to me and alot of people i know. one time i had a dream about falling off a ladder and breaking my ankle. 2 days later i fall down the stairs and break my ankle.

i think it could be when we sleep we tune into in a sense parts of our brain we dont use when were awake and maybe these parts of our brain have pshychic like abilities that can predict future events being shown to us in our dreams or it could be coincidence but it just my theory.

but my theory wouldnt really explain a certain inncident i had when i was walking home from school i suddenly had a feeling that i shouldnt cross the street so i didnt and just kept walking on the side of it. a few moments later on the very street i was going to cross earlier i turned too see 2 cars collide with each other. and this was about 5 seconds after i didnt cross the street.

My dreams are strange to say the least, I'll not get into them all, but one dream I woke up with the word "Illumbriatic" in my head, spelt exactly like that in my head. It's not an English word, I doubt it's a word in any language, but yet I had it from a dream that I don't remember (I didn't remember anything except for the word).

That was 2 years ago and I still remember the word, strange eh?

I still need to give it a meaning heh.

I have had times where I half remembered a dream, then replaced it with what happened that day and scared the **** out of myself by thinking I had dreamt it beforehand, then I realized that I hadn't really dreamt about it before, it had simply remembered it after.

What I'm saying it, it's easy to fool yourself into changing that dream which you could just barely remember into something that happens in real life (unconciously). Sure, if you dream a lot, there might be one time that coincidentally you dream what really happens, but most of the reports of dreams that come true are probably people deluding themselves.

I had a dream......that one day right down in Alabama little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.

And guess what!

Other than that I once had a dream that my brother would come home in a police car. The next day he did. The little ASBO.

Actually, yesterday I had a dream, and somewhere in that dream I was playing Soccer. I ended up kicking the wall next to my bed at full power while laying in bed.

It sucked pretty bad. And still does. It's swollen =-\

I had a dream were someone was slamming my head into a wall and then right before I woke up he slammed me with all his might and busted my nose open...

Well it turns out I smacked my face at that same time into my nightstand and busted my nose while flinging myself in a 180 degree flip onto the floor...I bled all over my bed...And I managed to kick my little brother in the gut in the process...
