Default Nietzche and Existentialism

When I started to learn about philosophy, ideas, and individualistic views that occur in this life, I found Nietzche quite interesting.
Not only because he was accused of sleeping with his sister..heh..j/k...but mainly his beliefs..
"God is dead"..which is a quite famous quote from him, falls into his argument that religion and church were not actually faith, they were merely a physchological warfare used to gain power. Ironically, over the last hundred years, many wars have been strictly about religion. He believed, rather the church being a direct link to god, where men and women go to find and inner peace with the higher being, a church is established for the spreading of lies. While he did not believe that there wasn't a god, he believed church and spread lies and 'rumors' among the belief of Christianity. Not to offend anyone, I do not believe in Christianity, nor do I believe in religion itself.
Religion in my veiw, was something created for the main purpose of creating sanity among the population. Rather than having people looking into themselves and seeing what a human is capable of doing, looking up to a god, who reigns all, seems much more plausible to maintain a civilized society.
Over the ages, churches realize that this religion is working, and spread quicker. Where different god's and different religion begin, is where texts begin to be translated. When someone translates text from one language to another, more than just the initial text is being translated. Every word does not translate proper from language to language, we all know that. Rather than direct translations, we infuse individuals beliefs to cover words that cannot be translatted. Do this among, lets say one hundred different languages, and you get drastic results.
On a seperate note, Existentialism is the belief in an individual. Much like Nietzche's Will to power, or Ubermenchse, ones self is where we all should look into. An individual contains the power to life, the power to over power others, and the power to overpower himself, or in other terms, yourself is the most important thing. You have the power to do whatever you'd like, but you have to figure it out within yourself, overcome yourself. Along these terms, you can break this down into religion, philosophy, or what I like to call reality.

While many argue the fact of the "ten percent myth", where we supposedly only use 10% of our brain, many tend to agree. I myself, tend to seperate it.
While many secrets are sought after, I believe the brain is rather, more physical than anything. Brain functions the body, thats it. What I find interesting, is the mind. In my belief, I believe the mind is above a physical plane, not enclosed in the brain. Much like John Searle and his belief of Strong AI, where the mind is viewed as a computer, and the brain the hardware.. I believe that the mind and brain are in a mere Commensalistic Relationship, where the mind benefits, and the body is unharmed. Making reference to the idea of "you can never imagine anything new, what you've seen or heard before is merely used for manipulation to produce more ideas", your body is a type of "machine" used for your mind. Life experiences give your mind ideas, hence, no previous ideas, no more ideas.
A big question comes up on this topic as well...
" If a baby was born deaf and blind, would it be able to think?"
Hmm, dont want to get into this, I'll save it for another discussion.
Oh, by the way, I like writing these things at night, dont know why I dont in the morning, or the afternoon, I usually wake up and I'm like...wtf was I talking about...but then at night, I'm like..heh...I'll write something else.. Idk, seems wierd to me.

EDIT: **** I got off topic, should have changed the title of the thread damnit.

Default Re: Nietzche and Existentialism

Existentialism is a nice philosophy to follow in the sense that it involves the least amount of thinking because its main idea, in layman's terms, is that you should do whatever the **** you want. It openly admits to being self-contradictory (book reading being one such instance) and its counterargument is essentially "'So?' *raspberry*".

It's basically satire personified in a philosophy, and is awesome as a result.
