Yep. Rear-ended some guy. I was coming down from a bridge, through an intersection, and didn't stop in time. My car was completely messed up in front, hood smashed up and in, and the radiator was busted. Thank God it was an old car (150k miles on it or so) my mom was thinking of replacing anyway.
So, anyway, I made sure the other guys in my car were okay, got out and made sure the other guy was alright...Everyone was okay. He looked at the back of his car -- his bumper was scratched -- and then got back in his car. I figured he was gonna call someone...Or something. The idiot drove off as soon as traffic moved again. I'm immensely angered by that. Didn't even ask if we were okay. And besides that, it's illegal to leave the scene of an accident. In short, my mom wasn't all that angry with me at least. I have to go in for a court date because I didn't have a current insurance card on me, though hopefully that'll be dropped, since I found it at home. The car's old enough that it'll probably just be totaled by the insurance company and whatever. My problem, though, is that I'm now unsure of myself again. Anyone ever been in the same situation, there? The concept of being afraid of oneself, I mean?

Yeah, when I ruined my wheel alignment by turning left going too fast going to school. It was wet early that morning, so as a result, my car hydroplaned into the curb. Then again, I was a n00b driver.

That sucks....Last time we were in a car accident was 2 years ago...Unless you count ramming into a deer 80 miles an hour on a back road. THAT was fun and sad at that same time.

I rear-ended a lady once. It was in a left-turn lane, and cars were pretty backed up. We started to go, but for some unknown reason, a guy way up front slammed on the brakes (the light was still a green arrow), so everyone behind him did, too. I was just the first one whose antilock brakes failed him and skid into the car in front of me. Decent damage to my car, decent cosmetic damage to hers.
I got my car fixed, it had 250,000 miles on it, and that was five years ago. I still have my car, so if that one's too old, you need to get a better make. At least the lady I hit didn't run off; that sucks for you. One time my friend was going through an intersection and was hit by someone who ran a red light. It was right near an overpass, and the instant the cars collided, six Mexicans jumped out of the car and ran for the hills. One, however, stayed to take the blame, albeit for his friend who was driving without a license. --Guido http://andy.mikee385.com |
