Default RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: Sad but true

I'm atheist; I used to be agnostic.

I laughed at some of Izzy's posts, but still, he disrespected other's beliefs. But then again, some of you do it as well.

Saying you're going to hell if you don't believe a certain way or if you do a certain thing or have a certain way of life is completely disrespecting others who do not believe in what you believe. It's as bad as Izzy saying you're all morons for believing in God.

Also, I greatly dislike these things:
People who ignore facts (like taking the Bible literally).
People who try to counter facts or theories with nonsense to try to prove these facts or theories wrong (like books trying to counter everything concerning evolution, creation of the universe, age of the universe). And by nonsense I literally mean nonsense. Like someone who tries to bs in class as if they read the history material they were going to read, so they just randomly make up stuff that seems convincing.

EDIT: I hate when people use science to help prove religion, and completely ignore everything that proves many things in the Bible never actually happened. It's completely hypocritical as they focus on one event that science hasn't proven wrong, and ignore everything that it has... I hate it. This article is one example of crap I hate. DON'T USE SCIENCE TO TRY TO PROVE SOMETHING IN THE BIBLE HAPPENED IF YOU'RE GOING TO CHOOSE TO IGNORE THE MANY THINGS SCIENCE HAS DISPROVEN.

I go to a Unitarian church and have never been asked to do jack shit for God except give him respect. No spreading or recruiting. What type of congregation do you attend to now?

And also, you guys are completely excluding the fact that the Bible is extremely symbolic. Where a flood was, something of much smaller size probably happened. A burning bush was probably some forest fire in which people figured faith out for themselves. Now that I think of it, everything in the Bible that happened was probably alot smaller; Constantine just blew it up to bigger proportions to make the Bible much more interesting. It IS a big ass book, you know...
