What rhythm games does this convention generally have?

Last year in the rhythm game section (at a hotel slightly off from the main convention, still need a pass for it), there were two ITG full cabs, and then a bunch of rhythm game clones being ran off people's computers and such (eg. LR2, kshootmania, whatever the pop'n clone is called, and a couple others).

I think the selection largely changes from year to year though!

I definitely would like to do that in addition to playing some SV3 charts.

On another note, I hope playing without shoes is accepted (I'm a socks player). If I have to play with shoes on I effectively downgrade 3 levels.

You'll be fine with socks (since I play in socks every time lmao), although the pads are recessed and aren't countersunk so it hurts your feet.
