I thought you guys might find this post interesting. I'll probably make a more mathematically satisfying blog post on this later, but this will suffice for now. Basically, I created this symbol seven years ago as my own identity and here is the evolution it went through:
![]() This one is the original I drew up in paint. It had no exact specifications, so this one looks the most different of all of them. ![]() I figured out exact coordinates I wanted, and though this doesn't follow a formula, I personally like the shape of this one the best. I just used PPT and brought a curve through four points. ![]() This one... this one took some work. I have a video of the creation of this guy and it dives into some of the math involved (one part is wrong though and I get really embarrassed even though no one will notice). Basically, the thickness of each spiked curve at a given height is the diameter of a circle at that height. ![]() In my math classes I started to use tons of graph paper in a notebook and I always found myself sketching this guy. I went on MSPaint and filled in the solid colors. ![]() I discovered GIMP a few weeks ago and this is my first foray into photo editing. My latest attempts have not been so successful. ![]() Finally, this my latest and most mathematically intensive creation. I made this in JES which is a student version of Python. It takes the concept from the Minecraft symbol and applies lighting to it. The "z" value at each point represents the lightness. The original one came out far too bright and did not give a 3D effect to my liking so I edited the code a little bit. You guys will love this; my girlfriend got me a shirt with the first logo on it for my birthday. You can see it in a few of of my SM videos. Anyways, feedback greatly appreciated. I've kept most of this to myself and now it's at a point where I'm ready to release the complete works. |

So are you studying math? Because as a fellow math enthusiast, I think this is really neat. I secretly wish that I had ideas for sketches running through my mind that I could write all over my math notes... but I don't. D:
I love the design of your symbol. On the surface, it's not too complex; when you whip out the math-related properties and start modifying its appearance accordingly, though, it sure is enhanced. The last picture is my favourite, even though that one looks the most like the Lulu Lemon logo. |

The shape is simplistic and well-readable (which is good), but the colors clash quite a bit. The last one has the best shape, but I'd change the color scheme around into a scheme that's more pleasing to the eye.
