*GOOD FOR YOU
it's less the accomplishment and more the psychological aspect I was getting at. Playing a really hard lower level file is harder to do because you get so easily discouraged when you can't do something around the difficulty level of songs you can do and everyone else is doing fine but you don't know why you aren't, when it's really a more borderline file than it lets on. Or a really hard file is much easier and then you overshoot tons of others in that range. Consistency in difficulty is honestly more for developing players than pros, so they have an idea of what to expect and what's in that songs difficulty range, and from there which songs they can and can't do. Pro's have explored the spectrum, so it doesn't matter, but the newer players could easily get bogged up on an FMO stuck in VC territory and feel like it's either just him or the songs misplaced.

Is it weird that I lag significantly less in high quality than low lol?

On topic: D2 has an INCREDIBLE song this round. Hope all you D2ers are having a blast.

Night Walker, I remember when hi19 sent this to me a while ago :] looks really nice in game, I like it.

BF'd D2's song, have to agree with the general consensus and say it was pretty good!

Transparent White was meh. Just didn't like it. AAA.

I thought 0 was meh too, as well as Amen Iraq. Just a matter of personal preference with the songs this round I guess.

Transparent White- Good thing Reshiram didn't get his hands on this song or we'd have another all-white-arrows file ohoho
Anyway, rhythms in the first part felt really arbitrary, the 12th notes felt like they should have been on the 16th instead, the gallop patterns were flat out bad, couldn't tell what the white arrows were going to at all (or if they were just for sync?) and yeah. Not a fan of this at all.

Osysifsdisdajsdalfjsdaio- Really weird song, really REALLY fun file. It felt extremely hard for its difficulty, almost as hard as the D3 file for me! I can also clearly see where a [Heavy] version would differ from this chart, this is really lightly layered and ignores a lot of snare rolls and drum rhythms. Great job on this chart and I'm excited for [Heavy] too!

Night Walker- Glad to see this getting positive reviews :')

Finder- Fun. Framer crap in the rolls makes it really easy to derp goods on, but still fun. Nice restraint, this song would have been very easy to over- or under-step, this seems about the right balance.

0 (piano version)- WOW I LOVE THIS SONG! Sounds like something Nikolai Kapustin would compose, and of course since I love his songs it stands to reason I find this to be great too. The file is excellent, nice work jimerax.

Amen Iraq- Holy hand inconsistencies. What the hell were the hands even going to? lol
Other than that... the part around 910 combo has retarded framers and really bad patterns, not a fan of that at all. Some of the roll patterns were a little strange too. Overall, this is just one of the weaker DnB files on FFR for me. But despite that it still is quite fun- I don't think this file is BAD by any means, merely not amazing.

The difficulty a file is given means absolutely nothing to me and it shouldn't mean anything to anyone. Its how the file plays that determines the difficulty to every idivodual anyway ~_~

I know Amen Iraq is AAA'ble but how are people saying it's a low FMO? xD Personally I think it's a mid-FMO at least. Not that difficulty really matters, but still.

Ochitsukeruwakenaiwayo! [Standard] is a fun file with a comfortable BPM and patterns. I really like the beginning as it sets up for the rest of the file. It's really easy to mess up and dump goods in random places if you don't have constant beat like this song has. I really like the file and the patterns in it. (Maybe some inspiration for a new upcoming stepartist like myself?)

I didn't read this thread yet....

but holy crap Amen Iraq is not easier than Spoon. For the love of God.

FGO, no doubt.

Edit:

Wait, Spoon was originally a 10? I am losing faith in you people....

I'm glad to see at least one person say this holy cow. I thought it was more on the borderline of fmo/fgo and then I see people saying it's easy -_-

I personally didn't find Amen Iraq very hard, Spoon raped me lol.

What I just said is simply personal preference though, I find Amen Iraq's patterns easier (got like 13 goods sightread with a miss or two).

Amen Iraq is a mid/high FMO structurally. Those patterns are really difficult, and they'll skin your ass hard if you block them.

I happen to be good at songs like this, so it's not out of the norm for me to AAA something like this near immediately. To say this is a low FMO though...eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

(subjectivemanias.wmv)

EDIT: bballa - I posted the reason that I think JX put it as a 10 initially, and to be fair, it is a legitimate one. The reason why the song is so difficult to AAA is not only because of the roll structure, but the split-rolls as well. If those rolls also had some sort of defined basic percussion at an interval other than only 32nds, it would be considerably easier to time.

Oh yeah, clarification: Kono spoon was listed as a 10 before it was released. I mentioned to JX that it should be no lower than a 11 (this was a few months).

Let's remove difficulties and come up with some arbitrary graph that measures length, step count, NPS, technicality dominance (jacks/stream/jumpstream/trills/etc.) and extremes

PROBLEM NOT QUITE SOLVED??
