My plan was for oni before the end of this too, but I lack the time to practice. I'll be lucky to make it to the fmo rounds of this tourney. Nice job though you're boosting like crazy.

![]() Put *a few* tries in to get Oni today: Realized when I got this that the song gives Oni, is short, it's jacks and polyrhythms which I'm good at, I like the song and I like the file and I can score well on it... TIME TO WHORE! ![]() Best PA. Pretty typical that an early try was the best, I get sloppy after whoring too much usually. ![]() A new record! Maybe I could beat this but I'm quitting most of my attempts at the first good so I didn't really finish many. ![]() 178 attempts and no AAA. Mostly posting this for people who think that I was sandbagging... it's all dedication and practice, haters gonna hate~ ![]() I'll try again tomorrow. I've gotten each piece of the file individually, including the long 2323 trill once, I just need to put it all together. There may be other songs that are easier to get Oni on but I really like this file so I don't mind whoring it as opposed to something like Jeanie and Caroline which I don't like as much. I'm a huge fan of Rottel and I don't have mindblocks on it so I might give that a try too, but it would be fun to unlock Oni with something unconventional like Kyrie ![]()

Nice kyrie. You'll get that AAAd eventually. It's an easy enough file, I tend to mess up on the longer 16th jacks though.

Another option for Oni! I'd have to isolate the 24th stream, I got one of the goods in there and that was a fluke excellent run too. Haven't tried mirror but maybe rolling right to left would be easier... ![]() The only hard part of this is the (14) 2 (14) 2 (14) trill thing into some random hand into a 48th roll... everything else I can consistently AAA. If I isolate and really work on that section this is definitely a possible Oni get. ![]() This file, the one most people get Oni on. Boring file and I hate the song, but it's an option... I realize it's probably the easiest Oni file *sigh* ![]()

I've noticed that ultimately Midnight Dragon is easier on non-mirror. The transition on that roll in mirror is much more challenging than non-mirror so if you can PA (or AAA) the roll like that on non-mirror, don't bother, just keep whoring.

At least give me a chance to play and try for oni again, darn carpal tunnel breaks. D: Not surprised if you get it within the week.

There's two ways to look at it, one is to think of the rhythm it would make: T - - T - - T - - T - - T plus T - - - T - - - T - - - T equals T - - T T - T - T T - - T If you pay attention to your keytaps you can hit most polyrhythms by breaking down how they would sound overlapped like this Try using your hands to tap out a 4 over 3 rhythm like that and you will understand- once you start to figure polyrhythms out they're not so bad and lots of fun. The other is to simply read it as it is and not pay attention to your keytaps at all. If you read it as just a dense jumble of arrows with no pattern, like a random burst, sometimes that works better than trying to break it down. Either way, my issue is (obviously) nailing both trills, the hand minijacks, and the (34) jack all in one run. I also get lost pretty easily in the 24th jumpstream for some reason, it's not fast at all but I derp there all the time oddly. Gonna try some more tonight probably! EDIT- Wrecked! Infinitely easier for me on mirror. here's hoping the rest of the file isn't harder with it mirrored, because if not I can totally get this right now. ![]()

Ahh this ****ing token.
Not happening at the moment, gotta take a break I guess. Getting way too sloppy, I was getting clean to the 24ths basically every other run in the beginning, now I get there like once in 15 tries... not worth it. Nailed the 24ths in a clean run once but the grace note section after it is much harder for me on mirror and I got a good there instead. I can do it though! ![]()

Yeah you look at differently timed trills layered over each other the same way I do.
I look at it from a musical perspective, when a 16th trill is layered over 12th trill, it simplifies to a 4:3 hemiola I guess you would call it. A four over three hemiola could be written as a specific pattern if you know rhythmic dictation. (1 e + a, etc.) So what you said makes absolute perfect sense... I'll change the T's to right and left hands. R - - - R - - - R - - - R L - - L - - L - - L - - L R - - L R - L - R L - - R 1 e +a 2 e + a 3 e + a 4 The right hand is playing the triplets while the left is playing the 16ths. The right hand plays 3 beats in the same time the left plays 4 but written in this way, the individual rhythms are connected together and not just perceived as two unrelated rhythms. So 4:3 can be thought about as the 16th pattern [1 - - a 2 - + - 3 e - - 1] with the 3 part being the beat. blue: 12ths red: 16ths The beat of the pattern is the 12ths (or blue notes) I like this approach for slower polyrhythms where I can actually hear this pattern and play it with my hands, and I can MA it without a problem. For stuff like chaotic rain dance, I gotta just read it as a cluster **** of arrows cuz thats 24ths over 16ths, which is the same as 3:2, which is actually easier to conceptualize and play. However, at such a fast tempo it is kind of pointless to think of it that way because you can still MA it by just reading the notes and playing them. For stuff like that I like to read it as 32nd jumpstream just "condensed" within each beat because it is 4 notes for every quarter note except they're closer together within each beat and not evenly distributed like normal 32nds. I feel flat is almost easier for ridiculous polyrhythms because you just look at the group of arrows as a whole and not as two separate parts layered over each other. It's easier to play one thing then try to look at two at the same time and coordinate one hand to play one part and the other hand to play the other. Kryptonite is completely erroneous to me because it is 32nds/12ths, which ends up being 7 notes for every quarter note at 100 bpm tempo..... ack!
