There are subtle tastes in all liquors (the cheap stuff not so much). It takes a little while for your palette to be able to recognize them, but they're there.
I would have to say my favorite type of liquor is whiskey (I'd take a good aged scotch any day) and my favorite beer is Stella Artois. Haha, in fact this past Friday I was at a Black&White party for a friend's birthday with a bottle of Jack and a 6-pack of Stella. Ended up being the best night in a while. |

Yuenglings are about the only beer I've liked. Otherwise, I'm a pussy and usually resort to vodka cranberries/jack and cokes/long island iced teas. I don't like drinks that are overwhelmingly alcoholic in taste -- I like something to complement things, usually. Not enough to mask it, though -- then you run the risk of downing things like they're sodas, which usually leads to a stomach ache from too much sugar or retardation from too much alcohol.

Oh god how things change in the matter of a few months. Right now I'm drinking crown out of a flask in my college's library cause after this exam I'm getting crunk as **** and partying it up on campas. Hard stuff is good to get drunk (or just buzzed before an exam I can do with my eyes closed) discreetly, and quickly. Whisky also doesn't taste bad at all by itself in small hits out of a flask. Vodka and stuff like that though should always be mixed, will just burn the taste buds off your tongue.

I'd also agree -- Sam Adams tends to be pretty good, as well as lime and vodka. Although when it comes to Sam Adams, the different flavors are very hit or miss to me. I find that I either love them or hate them.
Has anyone ever tried Chimay Blue/Red/White/etc? Chimay Blue is pretty awesome, but the Red isn't bad, either. |
