Sucked on math and science? Well, if you didn't fail the verbal part, there's something seriously wrong with the test...

I would like to announce that the writing/essay section PSATs uses is a total crock. Of crap. You know what I mean. That is all.
I got a 2060 (73 verbal, 69 math, 64 writing) on the PSAT, will be taking the real thing come March 12th. The problem with standardized testing stuff like this is that the curve is freaking brutal. I got three wrong on both verbal and the math, yet I ended up with two rather different scores. Note to the smartasses in the audience: They dont add weight to individual questions, only curve it based on how well people took it. Here's a random sentence made up of SAT-esque words. The intrepid mountainclimber observered that the baleful winds of Mount Everest were alacriously eviscerating his thick jacket. |

What is your point SotN? I took the SATs 3 times. Got 1 wrong on the math 3 times. Got 3 different scores. 790, 770, 760. For ONE wrong.
Also, what is the point of the sentence? I speak like that all the time. ![]()

Haha, I took the SAT's once, got 2 wrong on math, got an 800 wheeee... It was the hardest math section they had ever put, so it was an awesome curve.
And yeah, that sentence just sounded retarded, not hard to read or anything. I always say stuff like "I drank copious amounts of hard liquer last night" etcetera... SAT words are your friends

Yeh, in eighth grade I got 710 Verbal and 660 Math. That's a 1370 combined, the second best in the middle school (small school, of course--highest was a 1460!).
I'd have figured the reverse of that. My math was SHITTY. HORRIBLE. I am so good at math. I'm okay at verbal. But I'm not complaining about that score.

im not good at math at all, you guys are getting liek 3 wrong ill prob miss half of them. If i try ,however, and i can manage to focus and i can do really good on the others. the writing test follows a particular format that we went over in class so that wont be a problem, and i have gone without a mistake on the practice tests although i never finish them in class

I think I missed 3 or 4 math questions
.(Honestly, the math questions are really really easy, I could do it with the knowledge I had in 8th grade. it's just stupid mistakes.) |

i took the PSATs, and those suck... i'll be taking the real SATs later this year... next school year. I must say that i did pretty well, considering it was revised from the real SATs then revised again for the PSATs...... i got like 85% or higher on everything.... except math, i think... but that was like a 70%..........

And just a note to you all, GPA doesn't quite matter if yours is above 4.0. SAT and ACT counts for more, at least in California. |
