Trying to hijack this thread back on topic:

The only thing I don't like about Apprentice is its inability to let you play cards face down (without letting the opponent see what it is.) This makes Morph pretty pointless.

You're wrong. If you knew how to use Apprentice, you'd know how to play them face down from your hand.

No. With MTGO, cards cost money.
With Apprentice, you start with infinite of any card your current patch version will allow. You just have to waste endless minutes of your time downloading pointless patches.

All but one of my decks use all the cards you get when you download Apprentice and the deck with new cards can be owned by any of my oldskool decks, so all the patches did was waste my time.

All of the new cards coming out are ment to be used in type two. Wizards doesn't care about how their new cards will work in type one, and for good reason - type one is ruled over by monsterously powerful old cards that Wizards printed before they had any idea what they were doing. Making new cards that could compete with these would just make all of Magic completely retarded.

Seriously, you guys should give type two a try. It is a lot more interesting then just throwing your shitpile scrubb decks, which would be wasted by any real type one deck, at each other.

Stop defending T2, T2 sucks balls.

The thing about T1 is that you can use all the extremely overpowered old cards (like Goblin Lackey) and they make it harder and easier at the same time. Not to mention you're also allowed to use new cards, for a combination between new and old that makes it fun as hell.

T2 is for pussies who want to play people with the exact same or similar *** decks that wouldn't last 12 turns against an old-skool T1 deck.


As a matter of fact, once Darksteel came out and Wizards sold themselves out with EXTREMELY overpowered cards that removed the concept of difficulty, I stopped looking at new sets and stopped playing Magic. And, in addition to not playing any more, I gave away about 400 dollars worth of my cards.


Kefit, look at Darksteel Colossus. 11/11 Trampler for 11 is overpowered already. NOW ADD IN INDESTRUCTIBLE AND WHEN IT GETS SENT TO YOUR GRAVEYARD, IT GETS SHUFFLED INTO YOUR DECK.
You can't tell me cards like that are less overpowered then old cards like Phyrexian Dreadnought.

Btw: Phyrexian Dreadnought, 12/12 Trampler for 1, When it comes into play, sacrifice creatures whose total Power adds up to 12 or sacrifice Phyrexian Dreadnought.

Darksteel Colossus overpowered?

You have NO idea what you are talking about.

I don't care what the card does. If it has ELEVEN mana as its casting cost, it is not overpowered. Hell, if its a creature, by definition, cannot be gamebreakingly overpowered, unless its something on par with Morphling. Which Darksteel Colossus wouldn't be even if it had half the casting cost.

Oh wait, you think that Goblin Lackey is among the "extremely overpowered old cards." Goblin Lackey doesn't even see play in T1 goblin Sligh decks. Not to mention that it is from the Urza block which is by no means old. A better card to use for your example, in place of Goblin Lackey, would be, say, Library of Alexandria. Or Ancesteral Recall.

The only time in recent years that Wizards has ever printed extremely overpowered cards (as you say is happening with Darksteel) was in the Urza Block. Time Spirl. Tolarion Acadamy. Replenish. MORPHLING (emphasized, since you seem to have a fascination with powerful creatures). Those are overpowered. The Darksteel stuff is nowhere close.

And T2 is for people who actually like to see change in the game's environment. New cards entering the game and old ones leaving forces this change, which keeps the gameplay fresh. It also provides far more interesting games than you usually get when you throw two competitive T1 decks at eachother.

And you're a bag full of douche. Do you know how easy it is for a green deck to get 11 mana? I've had 9 on the third turn, in real life, and an Elvish Piper out as well.

Morphling is crap, it's just so overplayed that people think it's godly.

Stop thinking about blue and only blue. If you think I'm not being serious here, all the cards you brought up (morphling, tolarian academy, time spiral, library of alexandria) are useless to someone who plays any other color.

Btw: Library of Alexandria:
# Type 1 tournaments (see Rule 801) have restricted this card since 1994/05/02.
# Type 1.5 tournaments (see Rule 802) have always banned this card.
# Extended tournaments (see Rule 803) have always banned this card.

So there's your answer, sure they're overpowered BUT THEY'RE ALSO BANNED OR RESTRICTED.

Sure, but the current deck that is ruling T1 is the "Fish" deck, which is a collage of counterspells that never seen T2 tournament play and a bunch of other non-restricted cards.

What this deck does is it stops the oppenent from gathering their combo pieces and puts the foe into a lock, which allows the player to gather his/her own combo together.

This one line proves how much of a scrubb you are when it comes to Magic. Morphling is the most powerful creature EVER printed. Ask any serious Magic player and they will agree.

The reason I bring up so many blue centric cards is because the single most important concept to Magic gameplay is that of card advantage. Blue just happens to have the best cards to gain card advantage with, so its natural that they be mentioned.

By the way, you forgot to mention that Ancesteral Recall (easily the most powerful card I named in my post) is restricted as well. Just thought I'd let you know.

I don't really know why I'm arguing with you. It sounds like you have fun playing casual T1, so who am I to stop you? Just don't cry when someone annihilates you with a real T1 deck.

I used to play it, MANY years ago, but lost interest. My friends got into it a few months ago, but I really didn't join in because I knew I would lose interest, which they did.
