Default changing difficulty in songs??

i tried pressing upup/downdown to change difficulty of the songs, but doesnt work....no matter what, all the songs are stuck on maniac ..help.

It depends on what files you have for your Stepmania songs. Sometimes files are created with only maniac steps. The files I've made so far only have maniac steps. It takes more time to make all three difficulties and also it requires a much larger file size. Just a few reasons people make only maniac steps.
If that isn't the reason, then I'm not sure what the problem is.
