I don't know if this has already been addressed, and I apologize if it has, but you just contradicted yourself. From Wikipedia: Protestantism encompasses the forms of Christian faith and practice that originated with the doctrines of the Reformation. You're saying that you believe the Bible, but don't believe it when it says that God can do anything. Isn't this erroneous? Anyway, to the subject at hand, I don't believe the separated churches are necessarily defective, merely separated, as the name suggests. Of course the Pope can have his opinion with his own supports, but Protestants could say the same about the Catholic church being defective. Last edited by TheDrizzle2010; 08-6-2007 at 01:56 AM.. |

Very Grave Indeed

Protestantism is defined primarily by the concept that the most important element of the faith is your personal relationship with God, and that the trappings of the church and the formal doctrine are far less important than what is in your heart and soul.
One can believe the Bible to be true without believing that it is factual (They do mean different things) and a belief, for example, that the old testament is a valuable story and tool to guide the formation of one's faith and morals without having to claim that it is factually historically accurate is perfectly in keeping with spiritual protestantism. |

Well then, I've learned a complete different view of what Protestantism is, and thank you for correcting me.
