I cant really pick a winner, but as humans we have had some great acomplishments. We have learned so many things, invented so much, its just crazy if you think about it all. I think that one of the greatest, if not THE greatest acoplishment/invention is the computer. Now i know that if we didnt find electricity, or any other supporting part of a PC or chip, no computers would exist. Computers are amazing. All the knowlaged used to program them, evething that stems from them...i guess there are over 300 microcomputers in the average car. Videogames have come a far way since pong....definatly. So i guess im marveling more at compter tech rather than just computers....The other accomplishment i think would be...DAMNIT i left the room to check the cubs game and i completely forgot and ive been sitting here tring to think of it but no luck.! Yeah...so what do you all think is one of the/THE greatest human acomplishment so far?

In some way, its fire. Fire is the first "invention" (more like a discovery, but nevways) of humans, and without it we would be dead.

Humans?
99.8% of all humans haven't discovered or invented jack. =/ Contrary to what we might think, personal computers haven't done much good at all. We have millions of people sitting down in front of screens producing Nothing for hours and hours on end. I know I am, in some way, a typing contradiction of this very idea, but whatever. Computers for calculations, design etc however are more worth it.

"Computers" can be a generalized term referring to anything with a processor, and can include many things from PC's to digital alarm clocks.
I think man's greatest invention/discovery is science. To come from an intelligence level of primates to being able to explain the world around us to the extent that we can just astounds me. From physics to chemistry to biology, it's all amazing. --Guido http://andy.mikee385.com |

Well that's irony at it's finest! j/k back to the thread. I think humans get dumber as each generation goes by and the generation is considered "smarter" or "more intelligent" because it builds a little bit on the previous generations work. So we humans aren't that special after all |

No...humans are not great. What the hell. Just because we have more thinking capabilities than the insects and animals on this planet doesn't mean we are great. We have to be one of the crappiest things ever. We ruin everything.

What truly makes humans great is that we realize when we are ruining things, Varia, and we try to stop and fix it. Animals don't do that, they just keep on wrecking until they die. We try to improve things and learn from our mistakes.
