I don't know if this has a lot to do with the topic, but the way people react to things in real life is much different than in the media, I noticed.
For example. If me and my boyfriend are holding hands or hugging, people will tell us to get a room. Do people object to this sort of stuff in the media? Do they object to "beautiful" people hugging, and doing more than hugging? No... I know that you could easily argue against this saying that people don't object to shootings etc in movies, but would obviously object in real life, but I think that's a bit different because nobody ever said that the shootings were a good thing... it's just something that happens in the movie to make it more exciting. Girls think it's cute when people hug in movies. But in real life, they tell me to get a room. Guys yell "Just fuck her already!" It's rude and disgusting. I did nothing that should cause them to yell at us. We actually had a few girls approach us before and tell us to stop the "public display" because we were sitting together holding hands.
