something just like that happened to me when i was taking a chemistry test. I was thinking about the last 2 problems on the test leaning on my hand and i looked at the clock it was 9:45, blinked, and then the clock said it was 10:15. Although somehow I had figured out the answer when i woke up, like it was written in and everything. Weird huh?

I take a 1-3 hour nap almost every day. Then I get about 5-6 hours at night.

Ah, this is a topic that interests me, so I will pop in here.
Many researchers have attributed alot of alien abductions and other such things to a sleep "disorder". When you sleep, a chemical is released that paralizes your body, and when this can be combined with a lucid dream or an out of body experience to create extremly strange , um, experiences. Unfortunely, this chemical is linked with the part of the brain that is active with dreams, and the fight or flight responce, so they are almost always nightmares, hence the aliens and devils and such. The experience is essentially this- you wake up, look around, but then you notice you cant move, your body tightens, and that adrenaline, and the irrational fear kicks in, then your wall explodes, or you see the light through your window, then the fires of hell burst forth from your sock drawer or something. Alot of shit goes down, and you cant move at all, then after being terrified for a while, you pass out, because the chemical only wears off during sleep, so you have to go back to sleep. Nasty. I have had this happen to me before, although mine was not as bad as the typical ones. Mine was like this- I was dreaming, then I went lucid for whatever reason. As always, as soon as I go lucid, I wake up, it is like, hrmmm wait...this is a dream, oh damnit, pop. when I woke up, I looked around for a second then all the muscles in my body arched, and my arms clenched and went into the air, and I couldn't move. I could see my roomate in the kitchen, and I tried to yell to her, to tell her to some and confirm what was happening to me, but I couldn't say any thing, my throut wouldnt make a noise. By this timeI knew what was going down though, lucky me, right? Then the entire wall to my left lite up with a golden light, and split apart, and I could see the clouds, and I...got the impression of, musical notes or something, and heard a choir sing, loudly.the whole room "shook", but of course it didnt really, my mate being 30 feet away. I know what you are thinking, that this isnt really a terrifying event, but I had no choice but to be scared, even though I wansn't mentally scared, my body wanted to flee. I assume this dream has something to do with my urge to know what happens after death, as I am not a religious person. Perhaps i am even scared of it. But that isn't the point, eh? This is a real thing, they can actually induce it at will in sleep labs. And it was very definatly realistic. Bah, I was going to respond to some other posts, but by the time i got done with this story, I forgot everything. I have been awake for umm....37 hrs, 48 mins 12..13...14 seconds, heh. |
