Default Altering Relative Time

This is not about time travel in the literal sense of the word. This is about time zones. (I thought of this when going to NY.)

If you have a 5 hour flight from CA to NY, you get there 8 hours later.
If you have a 5 hour flight from NY to CA, you get there 2 hours later.

**This is because you have to make the 3 hour change in time zones.
This is at 600 MPH. At 1000 MPH, the flight would be 3 hours long, meaning no time (relative to the the sun positioning to the earth) passed.

-->If you went at 2000 MPH, you would gain an hour in the day for every hour you spent. (This all catches up to you when you pass the international dateline though, so it is only temporary.)

The sun would actually go backwards though.
-->Because you are going faster than the rotation of the earth, the sun would actually backwards. You could watch dawn or a sunset in reverse. The sun would go from west to east.
The sunset would happen, then it would be day, and then dawn would start the night.

Talk about some serious jetlag.

Makes me think about Calvin and Hobbes, when Stupendous Man spinned the Earth back a day so he didnt have to do his homework. :P

Anyways, I think it would awesome to live near "top" or "bottom" of the earth...Cuz, you know...Your compass would be going crazy (if you were in the right spot) and you have an extended amount of sunligh and stuff. Too bad it would be so frigging cold.

Yes, I saw that one, but still, time keeps going, but the time relative to the location-on-earth/sun-postioning is different, if i make any sense at all.

Yea, I was thinking about that earlier, exactly what you posted. A cool though would be if you had a house on both of the earths poles, and a plane that could fly at the forementioned speed. With this you could live 6 months on both poles and fly from one to the other in between. Then you could live in constant day, withought having the sun ever completly set. Either way, time is just a sham invented by man to enslvae himself. :P

yeah, you gotta think, if it was only dark for 3 hour a night, would man still "need" 8 hours of sleep?
