Default Change according to will

Each individual has his or her own subjective universe in which changes can be made according to will. In each individual's subjective universe lies one's perceptions of the world, and for each individual this is a reality. Carl Jung said that “[t]he meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances; if there is any reaction, both are transformed.” Kind of obscure? Yes. Each individual can shape another's subjective universe through many explained and unexplained processes, but is it possible for an individual's will to not only change his or her subjective universe but also the objective universe? Some might call this the "power of prayer" or something along the lines of "magic."

Does the human brain hold the capacity to change things that are outside of its own realm? If so, how would you explain this?

The human brain seems to be able to make out this world in any way it wants. Some people are perhaps able to see things in ways no one else could whether it be from an intelligent mind or simply a contemplative mind. All worlds are merely what we make of it and what we choose to think and believe. People see things in different ways and can ultimately shape others understanding and thinking based on those observations. Existence is a mysterious thing to all of us and therefore cannot be truly defined or understood.

For me, the tough line in this discussion is where to separate the mind and body. Obviously the body can make objective changes in the universe, and it is the mind that controls the body.

The closest thing I could come up with to the power of will affecting objective reality was the fact that your state of mind actually affects your bodily health. The effects of stress and whatnot on bodily functions have been studied and documented (I actually took an entire course on stress and its management). So while you may not be able to "will" something into occurring, you can put yourself in a better position health-wise by keeping such a state of mind, which can allow for the objective results you were hoping for.

An example of this is when a person faces the end of their life. Accepting death causes it to come much more easily, while a person "putting up a fight" mentally is actually more likely to survive through a tough situation.

There was also some statistic I learned in class about the death rates of recently-widowed spouses. I forgot what the numbers were exactly, but it was interesting how a person is more likely to die within a short period of their spouse's death.

I was giving my thoughts related to your topic. It's hard to say if there is a definite answer to that.

Well, I don't need PROOF, I'd rather hear some of your thoughts on this.
