Default Coincidences?

This is somewhat hard to explain if you haven't experienced it.

have you ever been doing something (like reading, thinking, etc) and you come to a certain word. within a second, either the TV or a person says that word. Have you ever been talking, subconsciously heard something, and then said that word in a conversation, where it doesn't make sense? In that same way, do you suppose that when you read a word, your mind subconcsiously focuses on that word, and alters reality somewhat? I'm sorry. I'm not doing a good job of explaining it.

It is a coincidence, since there are a limited ammount of words in the english language the odds are a few of them are going to be said close to the same time at some point of your life. It may be weekly, monthly, yearly, even never, but that's what makes randomness so reliable.

And, BTW, if you are doing something subconsciously, then your conscious mind would not know you are doing it......at least according to Freud.

Yes, but what you're referring to is more ESP than anything...there were a couple wierd instances though that happened to my friend. He says that it's always afflicted him, he'll be thinking of something when somebody will say it, and stuff like that. I was at my friend's house, and his mom had a jar of jellybeans and asked us to guess how many there were, and the closest one gets them all, and immediately after she paused my friend goes "267." She was in shock, because that was the exact number. Creepy.

It's the government reading your mind.

Nah - I normally get to saying words halfway through a sentence that are irrelevant when I'm incredibly tired.

Anywho, the mind will pick up on things subconsciously, and then it'll go into your conscious mind.. then into your speech.

I've had it happen before but on a larger scale, like ill be bored in class and my mind wanders and sometimes the things that i think of end up happening. Like the time I thought my friend would get sick on the day we had a big presentation- I was dead on, he broke his wrist and missed three days.

That kinda stuff happens between my best friend and me. One time, we were driving from CA to AZ, and I was singing the song "Alone This Holiday" in my head, and all of a sudden he busts out and sings the exact part where I left off. It was great.

I can relate to adjustments, sometimes me and my best friend bust out in the same song at the same pitch. and sometimes we can communicate with just face expressions. That might seem easy but its really not when you take it to the scale of full conversations.
