Why not? In this way, you have full control in how the animal and its remains are treated, rather than being left out of the equation and having a factory or another hunter kill it for you. You can select your game appropriately by season, age, and sex, take the humane shot (hell, you can even hunt with a bow and arrow if you wanna challenge yourself and level the playing field), and dress the meat and remains according to your moral and culinary standards. I don't personally think I would ever hunt, because I wouldn't be able to deal with a corpse of an animal to get the bits I wanted. But I could see someone who is more comfortable with all that wanting to do it because it would give them complete control over where they're meat is coming from?
