Dude nice. I hope to vacation there at least once. I kind of want to go to Shibuya for the music scene though, but am told Kyoto is where it's at for scenery. I would absolutely see what the hiking options are where you are staying (I enjoy casually walking through nature, personally)

I'm told the Japanese use public transportation like all the time, so they are really about trying to make it as awesome as it can be.
