It's simple, if you want to play the files as were intended, definitely go the SM route.

If you want it watered down (depending on how hold/mine/whatever heavy the chart was), then stick to this.

I said it I think in the other thread, but this is pretty much a convenience thing I think. Just imagine this is Stepmania-land, except Cmods are on exclusively with holds and mines off.

Sure, you can get Stepmania, download the backs, and turn that stuff off if you want to since Stepmania offers that, but I'm finding this to be if you're kind of lazy and don't want to download a pack or something and just play random files without having to set up anything or reload anything.
