Default Re: Batch Review Thread v2.0

May 2014 Hard Batch

ilikexd

a (hi19hi19) - 6.5/10
12.946 - The sound that played on the previous 16th also plays here.
23.619s - Instead of having this as a 24-note long jack, you can accent the filtering by changing columns partway through, changing to a non-jack, or at least accenting with colors; it seems lacking for this filter effect to be left unaccented.
71.043s - Missing jump to kick drum
82.236s - Missing jump since the 8ths before were jumps and the same synth sound plays
88.524s - Missing note to vocal
108.073s, 108.304s, 108.534s - There are noticeable drum sounds here that are left unstepped that get stepped later on.
130.342s - Ghost note
135.246s - For these two jumpjacks you can change one of the column used for when the drum samples change.
This looks extremely similar to all of the other Reizoko CJ submissions wherein the track doesn't offer much to do other than step long jacks and anchors to repeating percussion samples, and they can get pretty overlayered.

Blue Zenith (Reshiram) - 4/10
22.230s - This and many other of these 8th note sections mostly or entirely omit using a single column arbitrarily as if they were stepped with holds then removed. I don't see the purpose or how it serves to accent anything.
35.880s - Missing jump for kick drum
45.630s - The repeating descending triplets can be used in this jumpstream to accent the piano. The patterns seem pretty random here as constantly descending especially with the synth melody ascending to its highest.
60.630s - The background instrument is playing on the previous beat, not here.
66.030s - For these three quarter notes, the only thing distinguishing the jump from the hands is lack of the background bass instrument, which doesn't play at 69.030s or 70.230s.
81.630s - This background synth is quite quiet to merit stepping a jumpstream, and regardless it's in triplets, not a constant stream of 16ths. Some of the jump placement in it doesn't make sense.
131.430s - This is the very climax of the track but it's disappointingly understepped with almost no prominent sounds being followed and difficulty easier than everything that precedes it.

Bolt Thrower In A Chinese Restaurant (hi19hi19 & samurai7694) - 4.5/10
The beginning synth section repeats for almost a minute. It may be better to cut off either the whole thing or part from the beginning.
50.631s - The vocals are saying "I don't hang around..." but there is only one note for both the "I" and "don't."
51.713s - The switching between taps to jumps for the vocals doesn't correspond to anything. It would be better to leave them all as taps or at least have the jumps correspond to the more explosive syllables starting with 'f'.
54.570s-87.214s - Almost every color note is either unnecessarily offset or a ghost note. This section consists of 16th rhythms with maybe a couple of samples that are distinct enough to merit being stepped as more than one note. It looks like the track was slowed down and every single artifact and sound blip had a note placed to it. The production quality of the track is very low, so the sound is distorted and unfaithful on a lower rate. Here is a comparison between what the rhythms in the music are and what was stepped: http://i.imgur.com/EuygEY6.png .
87.214s - There is a similar effect going on here with the color notes, but it's much easier to follow at a normal rate. The problem is a lot of the jacks which are too quiet and hard to notice to merit being jacks. And ones like at 103.494s where it's actually 3 different snare samples. By themselves they're already hard to hear right after the crash, but stepping them as a jack is unacceptable if they aren't even the same sound, as opposed to ones such at 109.831s which clearly stand out.
149.722s - Most of this section is stepped more accurately than 54.570s, but there's still a lot of ghost notes in places like 174.016s-176.167s
It is an interesting concept, making something so crazy and aggressive, but in this case I don't think it's executed well with the ghost notes and color notes stepped to absolutely anything that could be interpreted as a sound.
Something else I will rarely say, this track is painful to listen to. That is something worth considering in song choice: not just how it's structured but if that it sounds so grating it can be difficult to listen through.
As a general note for the entire chart, a lot of sounds are stepped as jumps that are probably better off as single notes.

Call me it. (500 Tortures) (gameboy42690) - 7.5/10
49.231s - Missing note
54.451s, 62.491s - Backwards PR here, almost as if intentional, and I don't understand why. It'd be better to just vary the patterns while maintaining PR. This repeats a few times into the jumpstreams that follow.
132.931s, 140.611s - Vocals here are just 8ths but the 16th trill is okay for accenting the loud bass, I think.
35.011s, 65.731s, 96.451s, 104.131s, 111.811s, 127.171s, 134.851s - It would be a good idea to accent these crash cymbals as hands, as the sound is pretty noticeable and it forcing minijacks is not an issue given the structure of the chart. More of my opinion and not a real error or mandatory change.
157.621s - There should be a 32nd here, not a 16th jump.

Die Die Die Winnipeg Die Fuckers Die (choof) - 3/10
Offset is .011s early.
46.141s - The snare at this pitch is stepped as hands in the beats before.
50.808s - This should be a jump if the previous 4th is.
55.741s - Missing note
62.408s - Missing note (the hihat is being stepped in other places around this beat.)
63.875s, 64.675s - ditto
68.008s - Same as 62.408s
69.141s, 69.875s, 70.208s, etc. - More hihats that aren't stepped. Yet hihats at 69.208s and 69.475s are stepped.
129.208s - Missing note
133.675s - Missing note
145.475s - Just a snare like at 144.675s
150.408s - There are constant 8th hihats but they are only stepped sometimes (although sometimes the 8ths that are stepped do line up with other samples, there is still 156.675s and 156.941s)
162.875s - Ghost note
164.541s - The bass synth is much less noticeable than the vocals, so this part is a bit confusing to play through.
181.208s - Should be a jump since it's the same sound as the 4th before.
188.008s - Should be a jump.
227.875s - Should be a jump as 226.008s.
234.141s - Should be a jump.
238.941s - There are a lot of six-note and longer anchors in this jumpstream that don't need to be there, and the jump usage becomes somewhat inconsistent in the jumpstreams past here.
268.275s - This should also be a hand.
284.008s - I can't follow the layering in this section.
299.808s - Ghost note
301.675s - Ghost note
303.008s - Missing note
305.408s - Ghost note
307.275s - Ghost note
309.141s - Ghost note
311.008s - Ghost note
312.941s, 313.008s - Missing notes
337.541s - Ghost note
318.341s - Missing note
328.808s - I can't follow the layering in this section. It looks like the kick and snare have jumps, but there are at least 10 spots where the kick isn't stepped as a jump.
Also this last part is just mostly the same phrases repeating until the end of the track. The last 100 seconds can be easily cut without any loss to the chart, if not so much more.

Double K.O (Reshiram) - 4/10
In the beginning these are constant 16th hihats with only like one 16th break per section (4.336s), so these jumpstreams are filled with missing notes. I won't list out the missing notes, but it totals quite a lot.
3.525s - The reversed synth and snare fall on the 4th after this.
4.579s - The snare is stepped as a jump before (3.10)
9.773s - The snare without the synth was just stepped as jumps before.
10.746s - This jump doesn't go to anything.
18.053s - Early
19.594s - Missing note
20.486s - A lot of different sounds are being stepped as hands at once in this part, and then not consistently.
33.815s - This sound accented as a quad is much quieter than anything else stepped as jumps and hands before.
43.237s - Very inaccurate
47.061s - These are gallops.
56.244s - Missing jump
59.250s - Ghost note
68.352s - Ghost note
72.530s - The coloring in this part doesn't correspond to anything in the track.
Almost none of the layering in the chart was consistent.

For UltraPlayers (rCaliberGX) - 5/10
8.304s-10.394s - The piano is much more prominent than the percussion, so it's strange to omit in lieu of the percussion.
8.677s - Missing note to the drum
11.140s - Missing notes, there's a constant 16th tom fill for 6 notes.
18.752s - Both the piano and the background instrument are playing at 12ths here so there shouldn't be a polyrhythm.
24.423s - These are 12ths, not 16ths.
29.200s - The piano is still 12ths here, so if there was a place to put a polyrhythm, it would be here.
33.528s - Patterning can be improved here with the needless anchor.
40.394s - Patterning is ascending here to descension in the melody.
47.707s - Missing 12th notes to guitar
47.856s - While there actually are some soft 16th kicks here, they're in many places in this section and omitted, so stepping them only here is arbitrary.
49.797s - This is a set of three repeated guitar notes, not just one.
51.588s, 52.185s, 52.782s - If 50.991s is stepped as a hand, these should be too as the crash, snare, guitar, and piano coincide.
53.379s - There is a 16th drum fill here. Stepping just the 12th guitar notes as a jumptrill doesn't make sense.
55.244s - It would be better to accent the yellow synth notes with jumps rather than putting 8ths jumps to accent the percussion in this part, in my opinion.
55.767s - The layering is hard to follow in this section. It looks like the kick is being stepped, but there are numerous missing notes such as 56.140s, 56.588s, 58.528s.
66.215s - These are only 16th notes.
66.513s - Same problem here with lots of kicks being missed. They're so quiet it'd be best to just ignore them all.
70.319s - The minijacks to repeating snare are okay, but in this case the repeating guitar note is a bit too feint to justify it being a minijack going to a jump. If it really needs to be into a jump it'd be better not being one-handed.
70.916s - Missing note for guitar
71.065s - Ghost note
72.409s - Missing note
72.632s - Should be a jump.
72.7 7s - Missing note
75.568s - Three missing 12th notes. This happens in every case for these 12ths. There is actually a constant 12th melody running here, but at the least, all notes should be stepped in the places where you do choose to step it.
86.016s - This shouldn't be a jump.
90.05s - Starting here these are all 24ths until 91.289s.
91.364s - Missing note
93.379s - It's fine to use the layered trill for the drum fill, but you shouldn't step the next part which has no 16th drum fill in the same way.
95.170s - This section is better at not missing the kicks, although there is still at least one missing at 97.035s. I still think in general they're too quiet to justify being stepped and causing the layering of 16th guitar or piano to be more confused.
119.050s - This repeats 1/8th.
There is a lot of inconsistent or difficult to follow hand usage in the chart.

Hajnal 2 (FFR Pro 21) - 2/10
Beginning is significantly offsync. Patterning is arbitrary and could be pitch relevant to the various sounds instead of having some of them as jumps.
32.386s - Inaccurate burst
37.896s - Offsync vocal
38.909s - Chart is still offsync by more than .05, which is a huge issue.
45.849s - Ghost note
47.099s - Two missing notes
67.013s - Jumps in the middle of 32nd bursts is very overstepped and unneeded.
137.145s - Hand usage doesn't seem to follow anything here.
141.283s - Like 67.013s, a ridiculous way to step these bursts. And in this case it's so long that it's close to impossible to hit. It's not fast enough to be jumptrilled either.
169.904s - Again, ridiculous impossible bursts
Unacceptably offsync for a large portion, and some bursts are impossibly stepped.
At six minutes long I don't think enough is going on in this track to justify not cutting.

Happy End of the World (rCaliberGX) - 4/10
27.591s - Having isolated drums as jumps in this quiet, calm section of the music will start to make things quite overstepped, especially when you compare it to how energetic it gets later. Starting here, the chart starts to get quite overdone. You should consider the energy and mood of the music, not just count how many instruments are playing at once and make that a chord.
31.854s - These two hands in particular are absolutely unjustified.
41.643s - These piano chords are lower in pitch than the previous; the PR should reflect that. Stepping the bell in between is kind of questionable, as it's better to just let the hands serve their purpose for taking all the energy.
42.591s - Audio is kind of muffled here when trying to slow down, but there really is only 24th snares here; the 48ths feel like ghost notes and are probably just the reversed crash being picked up.
48.433s - Missing note
49.064s, 49.854s, 63.591s, 69.907s, Minijacks like these shouldn't be there. They're only popping up on account of the cramped layering, but none of them are even forced.
52.854s - If a polyrhythm is going to be stepped here, the 8th should be layered as a jump. At any rate I don't think the polyrhythm is appropriate.
58.380s - There is an unnecessary amount of 16th notes here. Everything is being stepped at once instead of just following prominent instruments. The 16th bass melody really, really shouldn't be followed.
72.0433s - I don't understand the 16th notes in this polyrhythm.
84.749s - Again, there shouldn't be jumps to single sounds when everything is already so heavily layered. Happens a lot here.
96.986s - Missing note
102.433s - Missing note
114.433s, 115.380s, 116.170s - These are repeating notes, and they would do well to be accented with minijacks at this speed.
122.907s - Missing notes
143.275s - 48th jump doesn't make sense. There is nothing on the 48th here. Maybe trying to accent the reversed crash?
154.380s, 159.558s - When these chords are so noticeably split and different-sounding than the others, they should be stepped as grace notes. It's not mandatory to step every chord split as a grace note, but for ones that extreme it would be nice to have a few.
It's hard to offer any useful critique about layering in any given section as it was mostly overlayered throughout the chart.
188.230s - Missing piano note.
193.678s - There is a snare before and after here, so jumps should be there. I see that there is constant 4th jumps for the bell and snare (which is mostly landing on 4ths), but it'd be better to break from that and follow the snares.
194.072s - Ditto
194.862s - And ditto here. I really can't agree with jumps on 4th and 8th here instead of for the snare. The 4th is possibly acceptable, but the 8th to just a piano note isn't.
199.914s - Same thing with not layering the snare on top of piano. I won't point it out any more.
200.704s - Missing note
202.125s - This piano note is 2/48th lower.
215.625s - This drum note isn't exactly a 16th. While that isn't a big deal and stepping it as a 16th is fine, you were stepping it as a 96th earlier.
241.599s - Missing note
243.809s - Missing note
255.783s - An exemplar of overlayering. There was no reason not to just put jumps in these 12ths, besides the last crash.
274.520s - I don't understand the 8th jump layering here.
292.441s - Missing note
By the end there are a ton of hands being used, sometimes for crash, and sometimes for piano chords, but not consistently to piano chords. It's hard to follow.
326.388s - There's another snare here, not that I think this should be stepped this way.
I don't think enough happens or changes in this chart to justify not cutting it. 165s or a bit before would've been an okay place to start, but for now it's much too long.

Prequel to the Sequel (Tidus810) - 5/10
15.022s - Should be a hand.
16.522s - Why is this snare a hand and the following snares only jumps?
39.222s - Ghost note
41.122s - This is a very cluttered/inefficient way to layer this section and just leads to a mess of jumps.
89.218s - Missing note
91.352s - Missing note
92.006s - Missing note
103.237s, 110.391s, etc - There's not really a need to change the BPM just because snare goes to 8ths; the music is no stronger or intenser in this part.
107.622s, 111.083s, etc - Should be a hand.
124.929s - The guitar strums were stepped as jumpjacks before and now are single jacks. It's better to just have them as single jacks, but it should be consistent without a good reason to change.
126.775s - Layering in the vocals here to add hands is pretty counterintuitive instead of just sticking to layering the instruments (guitar & drums).
147.314s - Jump doesn't seem to follow anything noticeable.
148.468s - PR can be improved by having the higher guitar notes on the right instead of the left.
157.467s - Jump here for vocal
212.544s - Something can easily be layered in here such as the snare drum or other guitar.
220.044s - Very unintuitive layering by putting jumps to the hihat when the background guitar and snare drum are so much more noticeable.
252.294s - Missing note, and other missing notes in this section in spots like this.
257.544s - Jumpgluts here is a very bizarre way to layer.
275.794s - Again, vocal layering here is quite unintuitive as opposed to the snare drum. It's not easy to follow.
314.5s - Notes should not be changing notation here.
317.792s - This is really the first part that stands out as a noticeable change in the music since the intro, and it's over six minutes in.
327.312s - Ghost note
352.811s - PR is backwards for these toms. Also color is just random. They're 12ths, like all the others.
421.050s - It looks like this was stepped by stepping PR 8th notes to the guitar and filling in the missing spaces with 16ths for the drums. It doesn't work very well and the anchors are very weird to play through.
425.850s - Unintuitive layering following just the vocals when the snare is quite noticeable, especially empty around 430.65s
458.850s - Notation should not be changing here.
This is quite a long file considering how long it takes for the music to change its mood or how it sounds. Cutting really is in order.

retard fish frog (the great speedcore trendkill) (HeZe) - 2/10
At first, the file is almost an entire beat early. After deleting a beat, it's about .031s late. But then at 38s it goes back onsync without a beat deleted. This type of sync error is unacceptable.
Besides that, I don't think there was much in this track that made it worth stepping, and it shows in the chart. There are also several 16th ghost notes. There was an understandable structure, but nothing I can see as being enjoyable.

Rock the House (rushyrulz) - 4/10
13.633s - There is no kick here.
25.976s - Ditto
47.404s - Poor PR here with the highest pitch note being on the left arrow.
49.461s - Based on the melody, it isn't merited to step a runningman for this part. It should be triplet-based as you have it at 52.204s.
59.747s - 32nds should be stepped here as you have them stepped in other places.
61.676s - Ghost note
61.979s - There is no minijack for the same sample at 60.604s.
64.461s - These 64ths are all ghost notes. And there should be 32nds after as you've also stepped 32nds for the same fast drums in other places.
84.604s - Should be a jump with the kick.
98.790s - This last 32nd is a ghost note.
106.547s - Should be a jump with the kick.
109.804s - Interesting way to start accenting some of the synth notes, but it's done incorrectly in a few places: 115.119s, 112.376s, etc. should be a jump
120.733s - This last 32nd is a ghost note.
129.004s - Humungous difficulty spike right at the end. This is too slow to be jumptrill AAA'd on FFR and too fast to actually spin at relative difficulty to the rest of the chart.
Track and chart are pretty uneventful.

Sane in a crazy world (WB remix) [M0nkeyz] - 5/10
13.688s - This 16th should either be removed or moved down.
17.822s - Ghost note
37s - Patterning can be improved here. Since it's just drums you have a lot of choices, and repeating 1324 is fine, but this small anchor in the middle seems pretty random.
41.288s - Ghost note
44.555s - This is a bit quiet to have as a jumptrill instead of just single notes.
48.555s - Hand for a vocal sample is really weird. Should just be a note.
Ditto on those things when the track repeats.
58.088s - Ghost note
59.422s - Ghost note
61.622s - It'd be better to drop the accenting in the middle of a 32nd roll, also ending in a jump is unneeded.
There are more 16th ghost notes past 62.155s
74.610s - These vocals are offsync.
92.494s - The 16ths in this section are pretty inaccurate.
Chart starts dragging a lot by the end. It's worth mentioning there were a few good vocal accenting decisions in the patterning.

Speedcore 300 (XelNya) - 3/10
14.275s - There should be 16ths here, not a white jump.
17.525s - Ghost note
17.725s - Missing note
28.725s - Missing note
30.825s - The 32nd gallops were okay before as accents when the background music cut out, but using them integrally like this isn't. Also, keep in mind how they'll convert at this BPM.
36.875s - These 16ths are ghost notes.
46.825s - Even with stepping them as 32nds, there is no reason to now starting adding jumps to. They're the same as they were before.
49.775s - This is just 8ths here.
51.625s - Something should be done if the sound is changing, not just a continuous roll.
53.425s - 1/8th early
54.825s - These are 16ths, not 12ths, ditto at 59.425s, and if the reduction from 16ths to 12ths was intentional, it doesn't make sense to have the hihats, which are the quieter instrument, as 16ths.
56.225s - There's really no need to force a 225 bpm minijack here.
75.475s - Ghost note
81.5575s - Ghost note
116.425s - Huge difficulty spike here at the end
I don't see anything enjoyable at this. As far as the track goes melodically, it's the same thing for two minutes.

Szycag (mi40) - 2/10
There is absolutely nothing about this track that merits a seven minute long file. For the entire time there's a background melody which consist of literally two different notes alternating, and the same percussion samples repeatedly. Five and a half minutes in something finally changes, and that's it. Out of all the files in the batch that were unnecessarily long, this is the worst offender.
A lot of bursts are stepped nonsensically such as 46.577s -- it's just random 32nds and 24ths without any regard for what the actual sound is.

Tuk Tuk Boshi (bmah) - 8/10
65.263s - While consistently omitted in this section, it feels quite lacking to not step these sounds and only the other one which I think is less noticeable.
Beyond that I don't have any real issue with how this is stepped. All of the layering made sense and it stayed jacky throughout. It's definitely not what I would've expected from the track though, which is a very weird one.

Ultraviolent Junglist (mi40) - 4.5/10
49.918s - Missing note
50.818s - Missing note
58.768s - Other minijacks made sense, but here the sound keeps ascending.
68.968s - 16ths is too fast for this vocal, it's closer to 3/32nd.
89.068s - Ghost note
95.593s - These don't make sense as minijacks.
102.193s - Backwards PR
106.768s - This should be a jump based on the previous jumps.
109.543s - Jumps are random here. Make them follow something specific. 109.543s is a jump, 109.693s isn't while still being a kick. 109.618s isn't a jump, while 109.768s is, and they're both snare.
110.593s - Again, descending pattern to ascending sound, and the first note should be a jump.
113.293s - These don't make sense as minijacks.
128.443s - Again, there shouldn't be minijacks to different samples.
128.818s - Ghost note
130.543s - Same as 128.443s
132.643s - Similar issue as at 109.543s
140.293s - Backwards PR
141.793s - More random jump usage. Should be consistently 8th jumps or 16th jumps.
142.768s, 142.918s - Should be jumps as 142.618s.
145.618s - Should be a jump if 145.768s is.
149.893s - Strange jump usage
151.393s - Jump usage and placement here seems random based on the samples.
153.193s - Same as 95.593s
154.243s - More arbitrary jump usage; stick to 8th jumps or 16th jumps.
157.093s - This is 3/32nds that speed up to 3 2/48ths. 12ths is close but a bit noticeably fast at the beginning.
159.493s - These don't make sense as minijacks.
170.743s - 8ths are incredibly offsync to what this actual rhythm is. The 64ths that follow are still pretty offsync; you should be snapping all the way up to 192nd since only 64ths will leave a bunch of gallops.
191.743s - Should be a jump.
193.093s - Backwards PR
194.780s - Ghost note
201.118s - The snare is not being stepped as a jump here, but it is at 201.418s. The chart needs to be more consistent in what is layered and how. Jumps are often placed randomly within just a few beats of each other instead of following a comprehensible layering structure. I won't take the time to enumerate anything beyond this point.
263.893s - This is quite a big difficulty spike this far in the chart. The roll is a bit too slow to be 2-frame jumptrillable, and then the uneven color notes at the end and how they're patterned make it enormously difficult to AAA.
339.943s - This is being stepped as a jumptrill, then it randomly changes to a jumpjack at the end.
Compared to all the other Venetian Snares marathons, this one is the best choice since the track has a lot of different sampling and complex rhythmic variations. Still, for what it is it drags slightly at seven minutes long. 254s for example would've been a great place to cut.

We Are Hi-Speed (Remix) (mi40) - 0/10
I looked at the notes from the previous time you submitted this. There are many issues which are more or less objective errors and have no business being kept. The point of a re-submission is that the chart had some potential but had problems that needed to be fixed specified by the judges. You didn't fix them, you just submitted it again. Waste of time.

Where's Bill (mi40) - 2/10
As many other judges have pointed out last time this was submitted, this needs to be cut.
58s - This trill is pretty offsync, and it's stepped like a series of gallops. It's an even 5/128th trill, so one side should be entirely 5/64ths, or it can be stepped as a 192 bpm 16th trill. This was pointed out before.
61.636s - Missing 16th
62.931s - This is 1/32nd late. This was pointed out before.
120.06s - Missing note. This was pointed out before.
124.977s - This shouldn't be a jump. This was pointed out before.
Not looking any further. There are too many errors that were already pointed out the last time it was judged. While some were fixed, it's not enough. The main problem is still the length of this chart.

(H) Beyond the Universe (hi19hi19) - 8.5/10
82.262s - Missing note
111.644s - Missing note
114.879s - Missing note
162.085s,167.644s - Seem like ghost notes. It might be the background guitar doing a subtle 16th, but I don't think it is, and even if it is, it's not very noticeable to put a 16th as opposed to the lead guitar 16th right before it.
The patterning and PR are pretty good in this chart.
Although all the runningmen make sense pitch-relevantly and gives the chart a unifying theme, there are still -quite- a lot of them, to the point where it gets a bit unpleasant by the last repetition at 182 seconds.

(H) Firstaidvision (DossarLX ODI) - 7.5/10
The track is pretty bizarre and doesn't offer too much creatively to step, but it's short enough to where dragging isn't an issue.
Good PR attention to the melody where applicable, and the anchors/jacks do correspond to repeating samples. Nothing negative to say besides the song choice not being great in my opinion.

(H) I (samurai7694) - 4/10
4.164s - Minijack into hand can be avoided here by just stepping a jump, and nothing is really being lost by not having a hand; this just seems unnecessary.
16.4s - This is actually a trill but all the low notes are ignored.
21.595s - While stepping this all as jumps, there is a fairly noticeable snare that does not play on every 8th that can be layered in instead.
38.9s, 64.375s, etc. - Same thing as 4.164s
49.078s - It seems lacking to totally ignore this incoming synth and piano.
66.708s - This is a big misrhythm with the piano just being 12ths here.
100.474s - There are two bass piano notes not stepped in this beat that seem pretty noticeable.
116.990s - Missing note
119.240s - Missing note
123.732s - The pitch increases here, so it would make sense for the column to change.
124.675s - Missing note
129.971s - Missing note
140.782s - It doesn't make sense to only step the drum in this beat and not the other.
The way a lot of anchors and 32nd bursts are stepped seem needlessly difficult.

(H) Rave 1 (DossarLX ODI) - 7.5/10
80.733s - I don't understand this jump placement.
124.188s - I can understand the jump usage for these sounds, but I don't like how the entire thing is a jumptrill when each sample sounds so different.
My thoughts on this are mostly similar to those on Firstaidvision, although while I think this track has more to offer, it's a bit frustrating that so many of the 16th sounds being followed are so hard to hear or distinguish, while at the same time it would be quite empty without them.

(H) Schur's Theorem (hi19hi19) - 9/10
3.394s, etc. - PR between these two hands seems backwards.
62.727s, etc. - While not bad to ignore, I think it would be slightly better to follow the 16th piano between 62.727s and 64.061s, as it's pretty noticeable and connects evenly between the 48th offsetted 24th trill and 4th hand, and since this part feels fairly intense musically, it helps fill in the emptiness.
93.283s - This chord is the same pitch as the following 36th down arrows, although the high note is made louder than the bass note compared to the others; if it were to be placed on a different column for that reason it'd be better as up.
The layering and patterning are done extremely well in this chart, and the music choice is very good.

(H) The Friendly Wolf (Xtreme2252) - 2/10
The sync is off by more than .050 from the start.
28.127s - This is extremely overstepped and doesn't represent the sound.
30.518s - Likewise. It's much slower than 64ths.
Past here most of the color notes are stepped inaccurately or in needlessly hard ways. The chart is still very offsync.
Considering very little ever changes in the music, this is way too long and needs to be cut.

(H) The Simpsons (gameboy42690) - 7/10
58.904s - Missing jump
Stepping almost the entire thing as jumpstream left less room for expression/PR; for short solos and sections that sounded very distinct like 37s, 51s, 56s, there was nothing distinguishing them from the rest of the JS in the chart. An easier approach not constantly following the kick drum may have been more optimal.

(H) this will be the sales event of the year (DossarLX ODI) - 5/10
46.843s-47.655s - I can't hear any of these 32nds in these three beats. To a lesser extent it's very difficult to distinguish a lot of the 32nds in the dense sections in this chart.
I don't like the music choice at all: it's very chaotic and unstructured and playing through a lot of the dense 32nd sections honestly feels like hitting random notes at times since the music is so hard to follow.

[7/10]
* 1452 steps
* 605 jumps
* 24 Hands
Layout:
- Very 8th-jack heavy and many 16th jumpstream sections.
- While the first minute does have difficult material in it (jacks, anchors, and such), most players will be concerned about the long 16th jumpstream section in the middle and are also subjected to bursts and long jacks at the second half of the file. 57.35 is a better place to start the file to the end; I found overlayering issues in the first minute too, but this judgment is concerned from 57.35 to the end.
Notes from 57.35 to 148.52:
- 67.02: The melody is the same note repeated here so this should have been a 5-note jumpjack with the jumps all in the same column. I can see what was attempted here, but the melody is a trill in this specific part.
- 78.56, 79.02, 79.26, 79.49: Missing jumps. I can see these may have been sacrificed to keep the spin patterning.
- 63.79-77.18: Kick layering
- 105.04, 105.15: There's both a lower and a higher snare here so these should be jumps. 104.92 is ambiguous, it should be a single note (the jump before layers in the kick but not the 8th).
- 125.00: There should have been a 4-note jack here
- 128.80: This is absolutely disgusting. If the play does a fast minijack [12], there will be a split on the 8th [23] jumps right after. If the player one hand trills it, there's also going to be a split on the 8th jumps after. This needs different patterning.
- 142.54: This creates a hidden 4-note jack on the left arrow and the 43 43 43 gallops on the right hand cause very awkward transitions into the 8th jack.
- 147.73: Why is this a color note? It's just a soft staccato like 146.79, they should both be on the same note
- My main concern with this file is the 32nd bursts leading straight into long 8th jumpjacks. These are at a very fast speed and will result in nasty splitting if the player doesn't want boos or averages. Another example I didn't mention is 35.06 where the 32nd in the burst implicitly creates a 3-note down jack, and the left arrow already has a 4-note jack, so there are many things that can go wrong there. This shouldn't be a file where someone can do the fast 16th sections but get split on by sudden poorly patterned 32nds. This file has enormous potential however and it just needs some tweaking.

(H) Blue Zenith
[6/10]
* 1201 steps
* 305 jumps
* 61 Hands
Layout:
- First 74 seconds are filler.
- Starting the file at 55.25 is a much better alternative as what the players ultimately will care about is the dense jumpstream section in the middle of this file.
Notes for 55.25-140.58:
- 55.25: Do not go with a "layer everything" mindset here.
- 63.00: There is a triplet in this area but the last note is after the 4th. This 48th is a ghost note.
- 63.95-73.85: Absolutely inappropriate and adds nothing. This is literally just a hand-jump spam when the song is starting to pick back up from a slow section. At 69.65 a bass kick rush is completely ignored.
- 76.85: Don't go with 4th kick layering here, go with the melody layering you used at 81.65
- 93.50, 94.70: Missing jumps
- 107.97: Missing jump (kick layering was introduced here on the 4ths)
- 114.05: This is without a doubt the hardest part of the file
- 116.45, 123.65: Not hands, these can just be stepped higher
- 131.45-134.45 is understepped, there is a run that could have been provided instead of a handspam.
- 135.65-140.58: None of these should be hands or quads.
- File has an overlayering issue and 114.05 is quite a difficulty spike, although it has potential with this cut in mind.

(H) Bolt Thrower In A Chinese Restaurant
[6/10]
* 2665 steps
* 506 jumps
* 4 Hands
Layout:
- Fast mess everywhere basically. Midsection is a bit of a break but still is difficult to do.
Notes:
- Changed offset from -2.103 to -2.090, too many early perfects before
- This file is definitely a killer, way harder than any other file ingame so far.
- 51.69-54.04: The jumps here don't make sense
- 54.71: Overcomplicated a 24th burst
- 55.56: Barely audible
- 56.81: There is a 32nd triplet here starting on the 16th at 56.79
- 57.00: A little early, try the 32nd after
- 57.84: I think you're looking for the 32nd gallop after
- 58.21: There is a 16th note before this 32nd, the 32nd is a ghost note.
- 58.29: Ghost note. 58.32 is just a 16th
- 58.52: Off-placements here, there is an offsetted 32nd triplet here that lands on the 64ths, but there's a down-up gallop that is wrong
- 58.77-59.09: This is all wrong. The 48th jump is really on the 8th before, then you also have 4th/8ths after, not offsetted notes. Along with that you have 3/64ths.
- 59.35: Missing 32nd
- 59.56: There isn't a 3/64th triplet here. This lands on the 16th after, there is a 5-note 32nd burst here starting on the 16th at 59.57
- 59.91: Too early, you're looking for the 32nd after
- 60.04: 48th is too early, try the 32nd after
- 60.19: Like 59.81, too early (16th after)
- 60.29: Ghost note. There are 48th gallops here, but not a 48th burst.
- 60.50: Too late. Try the 32nd before
- 60.57: You're looking for the 48th before. Remember this part has 48th gallops
- 60.65: What we really have here is a 64th burst going up to the 8th. This should have been a 32nd burst.
- 60.95: Too early, it's the 16th after
- 61.04: This is just an 8th
- 61.11: This is just a 16th
- 61.85: No need for the offsetted notes for the simpler rhythms. This is just a 16th again
- 61.98: There is a 32nd triplet starting on the 8th here, but instead there's an offsetted triplet
- 62.13-62.57: This is just 16ths ending with a 32nd gallop.
- 63.21: Missing 32nd, note after is just a 16th
- 63.41: 32nd before, not a 48th
- 63.61: This was an earlier issue, there's a 32nd triplet starting on the 16th at 63.62
- 63.78: What's here is a 3/64th gallop starting on 63.77
- 64.20: This jump is too early, try the 64th after
- 64.76, 64.92: Missing notes. 64.89 is just a 16th
- 65.71: There is a 5-note 32nd burst here
- 65.96: This is just a 32nd burst
- 66.72: 4-note 32nd burst here
- 68.24: No 48ths in this burst, it's just 32nds
- 71.94: There's a 64th burst starting here, there aren't any 48ths
- 85.20: This is faster than 32nds but slower than 48ths. The burst has 6 notes.
- 89.48-89.58: There are only two notes here and they land on 16th placements
- 98.61: Ghost note, you're looking for the 64th after
- 105.84: This is on the 8th before
- 109.84: There is a 16th minijack here landing on the 32nds, not a 32nd into a 48th placement
- Point here is, there are some parts after as well that still need to be checked technicality-wise. A good portion of this file is pretty spot-on.
- 69.16: What is this hand for?
- 96.71: This is a hand but 98.61, 98.86, 100.63, 100.89 are not?
- As much as this file is a brutally hard mess, the player should still be able to make out how the jumps work out. I don't know what these jumps are supposed to be going to; in that case the jumps are just extra notes to force harder patterns. The file shows potential but it needs to be made much more clear what is supposed to be followed in terms of jump usage, and of course don't let misrhythms mislead the player.

(H) Call me it. (500 Tortures)
[4/10]
* 1327 steps
* 651 jumps
Layout:
- First 35 seconds are filler
- 35.03-50.39 is an overlayered jumpjack mess
- 50.39-80.63 is filler
- Song picks up again at 81.11
- 96.47-110.75: Another overlayered jumpjack mess
- 127.19-140.63: Filler
- 142.55: At this point I just want to smash my keyboard from how uncreative this is. This is just subjecting the player to the previous two overlayered jacks again.
- Even from a hard songs perspective, this would make a terrible tournament file since it's basically just all 8th jacks with some 16ths thrown in -- kind of like how Turbo was jack heavy and had nothing else.
Notes:
- The only way to make this song hard considering the small number of 16ths is to spam it with a lot of jumpjacks and 16th anchors, which is exactly what happened here. This is unoriginal and has already been done numerous times, and is not suitable in a tournament environment.
- Yes, the melody and the kicks are being layered. But that just creates a mess of anchors and jacks in this case. This song does not offer anything interesting from a hard songs perspective.
- My suggestions: Don't make the player wait 35 seconds just to get to the first jack part, there's another 30 second filler part after the first jack section. Start the file later. But more importantly, don't try forcing difficulty like this.

(H) Die Die Die Winnipeg Die Fuckers Die
[5/10]
* 3559 steps
* 1191 jumps
* 113 Hands
Layout:
- Up to 119.49 there hasn't been anything interesting offered compared to what's going to come later.
- 0-30.16 is very sparse, even when it picks up there isn't much to warrant keeping this section
- 30.16-78.96: Some 16th sections. Ok, introduced some layering here.
- 78.96-119.49: Again, very sparse. there still hasn't been much offered here.
- With this in mind, you could as a suggestion start the file a little before 119.49; but still, there looks like another alternative.
- Even if you started at 119.49, have a series of broken 16th sections with still a good amount of empty space (admittedly there are some tricky one handed parts and jacks).
- So from 119.49 to 158.69 you have a few tricky 16th sections, but still not much is offered there -- another very sparse section comes at this point.
- 158.69-179.49: More empty space.
- 179.49: Finally we're getting to the good stuff! What was being stepped before was very similar sounds but broken up with many sparse sections in between and not offering much interesting to wait three minutes for this part. So keeping this in mind, you could even start the file here.
- So to keep track: At 172.03 the file could be started to have two series of the echoing winnipeg sequences. Then 7 seconds later you kickstart into the good stuff -- it's still broken up a bit here, but much more unbroken and interesting than the first 3 minutes.
- 224.79: Long unbroken streams now. Rather than waiting nearly four minutes, the player has gotten a powerful start and is now getting in the groove of the song. Only 52 seconds have passed from the recommended start place.
- 224.79-283.23: You have a minute of 16th jumpstreams and propose some challenging patterns. This is what the players would be looking for in the file.
- After that you have a break, then another 16th section starting at 298.96 -- going back into speed again.
- 315.76: This would be a good place to stop, given the following circumstances:
- 312.83-384.83: You have your occasional longer 8th jacks, mainly just repeating what's already been going on for the past 5 minutes sound-wise.
- 312.83-419.76 is basically just filler for a file that's already 5 minutes long up to that point
- Last 35 seconds is sparse 8ths
- So to recap, a possible start-end to consider would be 172.03-315.76, although it is obviously not the only solution. However that interval allows the player to get introduced to what they're going into, and get into the groove for most of the file rather than wait with filler sections, effectively reducing the file from 7 minutes to approximately [a compact] 2 and a half minutes. This means over half the original length is not offering other interesting aspects, and with over half the file being filler, it is just making the file look like it was stepped for sake of saying "I stepped a 7 minute file" when it could have been only around 3 minutes.
Notes for 172.03-315.76:
- 184.96: This was stepped as a jump but not 181.23
- 188.76: Missing note, a short trill at 188.56 can cover this nicely
- 199.09: Not a jump
- 201.89: Jump usage here is confusing
- 210.09: Ghost note
- 224.03: This is at most a jump
- 226.03: A jump was stepped here but not 227.89
- 231.76: If what I think is supposed to be layered here is the case, you have jumps missing in spots like 234.16, 235.76, 237.36, 237.63, etc. There are actually quite a few missing jumps.
- 238.96: Convoluted layering mess, and there are a plethora of long 8th jacks here. It seems like percussion is supposed to be mixed in with the layering from previously, but there are still missing jumps (e.g. 241.09, 242.96, and more)
- I'm lost as to what is supposed to be followed here, first it was a solid 4th layering layout, and now it's gone in different directions without a clear explanation
- 250.29, 251.89, 252.03, 252.16: Missing jumps
- 268.49-268.89: Why are these hands?
- 281.63: Missing hand
- The idea is there; this file has the potential to be a challenging jumpstream file requiring consistent one-handed control and stamina. But most of the parts outside of the middle are mainly filler and provide for rest sections anyways, so that detracts from the stamina aspect. Some layering choices were also confusing.

(H) Double K.O
[4/10]
* 847 steps
* 355 jumps
* 123 Hands
Layout:
- Lots of hands and jumps, broken 16th runs. There are also some 32nd bursts.
Notes:
- Despite this song being less than 2 minutes long, it drags heavily. It suffers from the song itself not providing many fast sections, so as a result heavy layering is used to boost up the difficulty. Not a good way to go about stepping hard songs.
- 17.91-19.37: Layering issue, one small sound stepped as jumps.
- 29.29: This is not a hand. What warrants 3 notes here?
- 31.56: "Break It" is not two jumps.
- 33.84: How is this a hand?
- 43.53: What are these 3/64ths going to? If they are supposed to be going to the vocals, they are off.
- 59.27: Ghost note
- 72.81, 73.37, 75.34: Color note abuse, there is nothing significant here
- 81.86-82.35: Not jumps, it's one small sound
- 90.40: The 12th jumps here are wrong, the wub sound is 3/16ths. This is all 12ths as well.
- This song is not suitable for a hard file. Tone down the layering.

Notes:
- 8.03-12.80: What is the layering here going to?
- 12.43: Missing 16th
- 21.76: Missing jump
- 40.12, 40.26, 41.31, 41.46, 42.50: Missing jumps for cymbals
- 53.40-54.59 has a full unbroken 16th drum roll. the 12th jumps here aren't layering anything, they're just going to the guitar -- there's also a disgusting one handed polyrhythm part at 54.29
- 66.23-66.53: This is just 16ths
- 70.41, 71.61: These jumps should at least not be on the same hand. The minijack should be on one side, the other part of the jump on the other.
- 71.16, 72.35: Missing minijacks
- 73.47: Missing note
- 87.23: Missing guitar note
- 90.26-90.41, 90.86-91.01: Guitar is 24ths here
- 113.10-113.40: Misquantized. These are 12ths.

- Trouble points:
- 67.03: 32nd dense roll
- 75.78: Speedup roll
- 141.30: Gigantic 32nd dense roll
- 169.92: Messy polyrhythms with ascending rolls
- 190.01: Messy 32nd burst with jumps
- 201.99: 48th roll
- 244.58: 32nd dense roll
- 257.17: Spiral
- Lots of 16ths at 174 BPM with all these awkward spikes does not make for a good 5 minute file
Layout:
- 0-38.93 is basically just filler, it's almost entirely 8ths with some (probably wrong) color notes at 32.41.
- 38.93-75.14 is alright, it has a few burst sections and some jumpstream. Roll after is mean but it looks like it's synced.
- 77.51-87.85: Short-lived jumpstream section with a few bursts.
- 87.85-106.47: Empty space
- 106.47-141.30: More jumpstream, then you get slammed with a huge 32nd wall.
- 145.10-164.41: A few jumpstreams, a color burst, and a few other 32nd bursts. Nothing particularly interesting.
- 164.41 is when things start to get much more interesting. However, it's taken over two and a half minutes just to reach this point.
- 164.41-205.27: Most interesting section of this file. You've got quite a few rigid bursts here and some non-32nds.
- 205.44-231.82: Nothing particularly interesting here, there are more 16th jumpstreams with 32nd bursts.
- 231.99-266.48: Jumpstreams pick up again, more bursts, the spiral at 257.17 with changing rhythms stands out.
- 264.06-288.03: Very sparse.
- 106.47 would be a better place to start, and then you could end the file around 267.17 -- this effectively cuts the file's length in half while retaining the most interesting (hardest too) sections. 2 minutes and 40 seconds is a much better alternative than having filler for a ~5 minute file.
Notes for 106.47-267.17:
- 120.96: The jump should have been on the 16th before. This is a single note that's not on the snare being layered.
- 122.68-122.94: These should be all jumps or some kind of left-up trill to distinguish from the snare right after. The mix of single notes and jumps here don't make sense
- 124.41: The single note down-up trill should have started here since the kick stops. The jumps are confusing and wrong here.
- 125.35: Missing jump. The snare rises in volume here.
- 128.20: Not a jump
- 135.10: The mix of single notes and jumps isn't making sense in these kinds of spots. This should have been a different patterned trill to differentiate from the previous snare or all jumps
- 136.82: How is this a hand?
- 137.17: Hand here, but the next two 8ths are jumps
- 137.85: How is this a jump?
- 138.11: Missing jump, this snare was just being layered
- 141.30: This huge 32nd wall needs to be redone. The jumps here need to be removed if the 32nds are to still stay; they are going to the 4th snare, but just make this cumbersome instead of enhancing the file. Everyone is either going to jumptrill this or roll and split the jumps.
- 149.67: This is the only buzz that occurs in this part; the other 64th gallops around are just ghost notes and wrong (there is only a snare, no buzz).
- 169.92: This section is misstepped. 169.90-170.42 is entirely straight 3/64ths, but extra notes were added by stepping 24ths and a 16th jump which also made for a disgusting polyrhythm that's also wrong.
- 171.13: There are no 48ths here, this is still just 32nds at a different pitch.
- 181.65: Missing jump
- 184.49: Did you mean to place these jumps on the 8ths? I don't see what the 16th jump placements are supposed to go to
- 190.14, 190.23: Ghost notes. These cause a full unbroken 32nd roll with jumps in between.
- 202.17: The roll doesn't start until here. Also, 48ths are too fast. If the BPM is doubled, 202.17-202.68 is shown to be straight 3/64ths.
- 214.06: What's with all these jumps?
- 236.56: See 149.67
- 240.62: This is a 32nd burst
- 244.58: 32nd wall problem again like at 141.30
- 251.39, 252.34: Missing jumps
- 257.34: 32nds here, not 24ths
- There were some confusing layering sections and it's not clear why certain parts are stepped with jumps and others are not.

(H) Happy End of the World
[4/10]
* 2307 steps
* 1065 jumps
* 299 Hands
Layout:
- From the beginning to 141.77 the file drags on heavily, this section feels like forever and is just a lot of slow hands and jumps (and from the stats, compare the 2307 steps to 1065 jumps statistic, and the jumps basically lose their meaning). There is the occasional 24th/16th polyrhythm and small 24th jacks, but those don't warrant this long of a section. 143.03 is the only interesting part because, well, it's a difficulty spike compared to the rest of the slow 16th jumpgluts and hands.
- 144.29, song doesn't have a constant beat anymore (rest section). Empty space until 165.28, where the song picks up again.
- 185.49: Finally some 16th jumpstream gets introduced! Notice how it took 3 minutes to get to this point, and everything before 165.28 was just filler.
- Lots of repetitive 16th jumpstream (some with hands) sections. Minijacks at 258.12, 286.46, 306.67, etc. are stupid.
- 326.64: You would do this. 24th polyrhythm mess at the 5-and-a-half minute mark.
- 326.96-379.71 is basically just empty space. ~53 seconds of filler.
- This means that the main chunk of the difficulty is from 185.49 to 326.96, meaning a little less than 2 and a half minutes worth of interesting material for a file in the hard songs category.
Notes for 165.28-326.96:
- I chose this time interval because the song picks up again here and going until 326.96 gets all the jumpstream in and ends without waiting for a minute of filler to end the song.
- 165.28: "Layer everything" mindset problem here
- 220.33, 220.43: What here makes these jumps? There is just the drum hits here
- 255.80, 256.01, 260.43, 260.86: What makes these hands and not jumps?
- Get rid of the minijacks into the hands at 286.46 and 306.75
- 326.64: Follow the drums here or the piano 24ths, don't mix it. Originally this is 5 and a half minutes into the file, but even with this new suggested cut it's still at the very end.
- The layering was incredibly convoluted. The song itself didn't offer many hard sections, so it seemed like the overlayering was done just to jack up the difficulty -- not to mention this is over 6 minutes originally. The file drags on very heavily.

(H) Prequel to the Sequel
[5/10]
* 3280 steps
* 1407 jumps
* 156 Hands
Layout:
- First 62 seconds are at 100 BPM, many 16th jumpgluts.
- Everything before 88.49 is basically filler.
- 97.26-137.99: Jacks
- 143.80-177.56: Some 195 BPM 16th stream sections (in 24th notation at 130 BPM)
- 177.56-241.19: Filler
- 242.06-273.44: More 16th jumpgluts and hands at 120 BPM. Then there is a speedup.
- 283.56-290.56: Huge jumpglut spam
- 291.55-370.46: Filler
- 370.46-412.07: Too many slow 8th jumpjacks and then the sudden one handed 32nd bursts.
- 412.07-461.88: Finally a speedup, 16th streams, and then more 8th jacks.
- 461.88-512.22: Filler
- 512.22-518.74: Final Guitar Solo
- From a hard songs perspective... this file has way too many filler sections and not enough difficult material to make it worth playing all 8 and a half minutes.
Notes:
- My suggestion is to read over my notes from the previous submission on this in August 2013, cut down the jack and jumpglut usage, and don't try to force a hard file out of this song. The full song isn't worth stepping; more than half the file is just filler, and the other parts that I didn't label as filler would probably be only low FMO at most. This song is not suitable for a hard songs batch. I still see errors that I listed in the previous submission.

(H) retard fish frog (the great speedcore trendkill)
[2/10]
* 697 steps
* 298 jumps
* 2 Hands
Two difficulties submitted. Going by the easy chart since hard had no steps.
- Offset changed from -2.040 to -2.240; this is quite severe as it's a 200 ms difference.
Layout:
- Short file with a lot of 8th jacks.
Notes:
- From what I gathered this file attempted to spam 8th jumps to the kicks and then tried to get the 16th and 32nd bursts in the song. The problem is, most of the 16ths in this file are wrong and are ghost notes, and it looks like someone just went in and decided to litter 8th jumps everywhere and then long jacks in the second half.
- 38.30: This hand was meant to be placed on the 4th before
- 38.75: This 8th jack section makes no sense
- 50.66: These three 8th jumps were supposed to go a 4th before.
- At this point I can see that there was no thought put into this file

(H) Rock the House
[2/10]
* 985 steps
* 337 jumps
- Don't leave the artist as "Unknown Artist"
- Only first 2 minutes were stepped but the MP3 is 4 minutes.
Layout:
- There is barely anything different from difficulty spikes; it's mainly 8th jumps, a few 16ths here and there with a few 32nd bursts, then some downright stupid 16th jacks out of nowhere and a 32nd wall at the very end.
- First 55 seconds there are a few 16th parts, some 32nd walls, mostly 8ths with jumps.
- 54.97-64.57: Some 16th minijacks, then a 64th trap burst.
- 65.42-131.77: Almost entirely 8ths. A few 32nd bursts (some split handed) here and there, then at the very end a 16th jumpstream going into a 32nd wall.
- From a hard songs perspective, this file is basically "here are some sudden bursts and minijacks" and then ends with a 32nd jumptrill (worse, if the player is actually trying to hit the wall with spins, it's very fast and plays like a 13)
Notes:
- This song is not suitable for a hard file.
- 13.65, 26.00: Not a jump, the bass kick is being layered in this section.
- 30.28: I was expecting something like this to happen... in a case like this, don't step every single kick as an 8th or this kind of problem occurs. 32.68 is a sudden split-roll difficulty spike with two jumps.
- 60.02: This patterning was intentionally done like this and it's just forcing this file to be rage bait
- 61.70: Ghost note
- 64.48: What exactly is this 64th burst supposed to be going to? If it's supposed to be an echo of the vocals, this is still wrong and completely overstepped, and an incorrect difficulty spike.
- 98.81, 120.75: Ghost note. This extra 32nd poses a splitting risk on the jump after too.
- Then we get to the 32nd wall at the end.

(H) Sane in a crazy world (WB remix)
[4/10]
* 844 steps
* 323 jumps
* 10 Hands
- Don't include the username in the subtitle
Layout:
- First 15 seconds and 109.31 are just filler
- Even though this file is a little less than 2 minutes long, it drags on from not having much interesting material. There are mostly just a lot of 4th jumps with the occasional 8th jack, and the only real trouble sections are 34.17, 39.51, 61.64, and 79.45
Notes:
- Very first note should be changed to a jump, not a hand
- 4.31-5.91: All these jumps should be jumps, having the notes on the right note already differentiates the snare from the cymbal. Nothing is being layered except at 6.31 and 6.44 when a kick is mixed in, and this isn't a case where you need to accent
- 10.71: This was stepped but not 8.57 or 12.84
- Especially from a hard songs perspective, there are short 16th runs that are completely ignored and instead the vocals are followed which don't add anything interesting, they repeat over and over and it's just filler
- 15.37, 19.64: Missing note to cymbal
- 17.84, 21.71: Ghost notes
- 22.44: Missing jump
- 23.24: Some saying "world" does not merit a hand. This is at most a jump if you accent both that and the whoosh sound.
- 27.37: Jump is not following the snare. The "crazy" being repeated twice should have made an 8th minijack, this is a single note.
- 31.91: Missing 8th note
- 32.71, 32.84, 33.24, 33.77, 33.91: missing jumps for the percussion,
- If you wanted to follow the original layering, 34.97-36.04 should have been all jumps
- 40.57: A problem here with stepping all these 4th jumps is that you have both a kick and snare in this section, so there is ambiguity in what is supposed to be followed here and it renders these jumps ineffective
- The offsetted notes for the insignificant vocals adds absolutely nothing interesting and instead just makes the file more cumbersome to read. Especially parts like 48.57, 57.10, 65.64, and such where it's not only an offsetted note to something insignificant, it's also a hand
- 61.64: Mentioned earlier, intentionally patterned for a bootrap. This file is basically nothing but sudden difficulty spikes.
- 74.78: "The Crazy World" is 4 notes, not 5. Also, hand issue again.
- 85.98: Missing note
- There are also notes missing in the slowdown
- The file from a hard songs perspective is poor. There isn't much this song has to offer, and it certainly is not suitable to put in a lot of 4th jumps that fall on several elements.

(H) Speedcore 300
[3/10]
* 1108 steps
* 385 jumps
* 15 Hands
Layout:
- A mix of 8th jacks, several 16th sections, some incorrectly stepped bursts, a few walls, and 32nd gallop sections.
Notes:
- 2.05: EVERYONE keeps doing this. This is a jump, not a hand
- The 32nd gallops stepped in this file are just echoes that last until the 16th after. So the 32nds aren't going to anything and they're making the file cumbersome.
- 17.55: Ghost note
- 17.74: Missing note
- 19.34: Ghost note
- 33.24: All of a sudden, kicks become jumps
- 36.84: There aren't any 16th triplets here
- 49.64: ??? There aren't any 3/16ths here
- 50.04: This shouldn't be a straight 4321 roll, there are changes at 51.64 and 52.44
- 54.84: 16ths, not 12ths
- 55.04, 56.44, 59.64: How are these hands?
- 56.24: 32nds, not 24ths
- 59.44: 16ths, not 12ths
- 80.19: Ghost note, there's a missing note on 80.29
- 87.99: Ghost note
- 116.44: ???
- This file is all over the place, the layering changes willy nilly, those 32nd gallops are wrong but appear multiple times and are cumbersome, this file isn't coherent. The stepping needs to be more consistent and have more thought put into the patterning.

(H) Szycag
[4/10]
* 3236 steps
* 1220 jumps
* 112 Hands
Layout:
- 0-16.90: This is just empty space and you hear a guy puking and "you love it huh?" The file should start at 16.90 where the song starts up again and transitions into the 16ths smoothly.
- 198.69-218.49: Sparse
- 218.49-266.79: Some more 16th jumpstream, but nothing interesting to add to the file.
- 266.79-301.29: Sparse
- 301.29-368.49: The player has already gone through this in the first 4 minutes. 314.61 and 314.68 create a cameljack and they're ghost notes. Not only is this a terrible difficulty spike 5 minutes into the file, it's also wrong.
- So here I am considering some alternatives.
- 200.49 could have been a possible end point for the file, starting from the 16.90; the song stops and doesn't have any indication of picking up from the silence here.
Notes for 16.90-200.49:
- 33.17: There isn't a 32nd burst here, this is 16ths
- 34.15, 38.35: Missing jump (41.35 is understandable)
- 41.91: Missing 32nd note
- 43.82: Missing note
- 44.45: Ghost note, the 16th before already covers what this note supposedly wanted to cover
- 47.05: Misstepped section. There is a 24th burst starting on this 8th note, then at 47.20 there is a 32nd triplet. 47.40 and 47.46 are ghost notes
- 49.90: What are all these jumps for when there's just 16th snare hits here?
- 51.25: Missing jump
- The point is there; the layering is inconsistent at times and it causes some confusion.
- 73.30: This is a 24th burst
- 81.70: 24ths up to 81.85. For simplicity sake this burst can be generalized to 24ths, although at 81.85 the burst isn't quite 24ths. Regardless, what is stepped here is wrong.
- 83.80: 32nd burst
- 97.41: Missing note
- 99.06: Ghost note
- 105.47, 105.81, 114.21, 117.66: Missing notes
- 148.30: What's up with this color mess? This just sounds like the original 200 BPM speed at 16ths, but then there's these BPM changes with a color mess.
- 153.09: 32nd burst
- 189.06: Missing note
- It appeared that some jumps were missing and the layering was confusing as a result. There were also technical issues which caused several flow problems, this file is like a rough draft that needs to be revised. From a hard songs perspective the song's jumpstreams are at a somewhat decent speed, but the bursts need work and it is not worth stepping the full song.

(H) Tuk Tuk Boshi
[4/10]
* 1190 steps
* 408 jumps
* 14 Hands
Layout:
- 16th jumpstreams, 16th jumpglut sections, some 32nd bursts.
Notes:
- This file drags on excessively. The song itself doesn't even offer that much, the difficulty here is extremely forced from the song being a slower speed. This song would make a decent easier file, but from a hard songs perspective it loaded 16th jumpgluts and heavy layering for forced difficulty.
- 11.57: Missing note
- 21.70: Suddenly, the minijacks turn into jumps/jumpgluts.
- 24.74-27.18: Many minijacks (or in the case here, jumps because the scheme suddenly changed) missing
- 28.00-29.62: Abuse of color notes for insignificant elements
- 44.20: Ambiguity since the minijacks are going to a much softer sound, the prominent melody is not minijacks
- 55.76: Missing minijack
- 56.06: Missing 3-note jack
- 57.58: This section's layering isn't clear
- 65.79, 66.70, then through to 68.53: Missing notes to the xylophone
- 78.26: This feels like a copy and paste modified with the same issues I outlined in 57.58 and 65.79
- 83.12: It's not clear what the minijacks in this section are supposed to go to
- This file has a color note abuse problem and suffers from overlayering due to the song's speed and lack of fast material. This song is not suitable for a hard file. There is also ambiguity when it comes to some of the minijack usage.

(H) Ultraviolent Junglist
[4/10]
* 3391 steps
* 1315 jumps
* 159 Hands
Layout:
- First 68 seconds don't add value to the file when you consider the second half
- 68.01-86.01 is filler
- 86.01-167.61: Same situation as the first 68 seconds of the file. The player is going to be subjected to this in the second half of the file, this isn't adding any value to the file.
- 167.61-186.81 is filler
- If the concept of short cuts is appealing, 254.31 would be an excellent place to the start the file so the player gets all the good stuff.
- 296.31-346.71: Another 16th jumpstream section with jacks and bursts.
- So an alternative here is 186.81-346.71 (with a fade in) and that contains the good stuff, around 2 minutes and 40 seconds compared to 6 minutes and pissing of the player having to wait more than 3 minutes just to get to the first interesting section with variety.
Notes for 186.81-346.71:
- (Offset changed to -0.773 here)
- 196.99: Just 16ths, no offsetting needed
- 200.71, 206.56, 209.26: Missing 32nds
- 210.49: Close to 3/32nds but it's not here
- 220.39: There are 5/64ths here
- 226.39: 3/32nds offsetted by a 16th. The 4th is too early here, it starts the 64th after
- 227.57: Ghost note. If you double the BPM this part has six 11/64ths starting at 227.61
- I'm not going to do any more of this syncing dirty work, but the point is that a lot of the colors in this file are placed in inconsistent intervals and they're clearly wrong when the speed should have just been doubled and stepped correctly. Take 252.79 for instance; this is stepped as many gallops when it's not. Another good example is 263.09 where the start of this roll is too fast (there is one extra note) and 264.64 is a ghost note. 279.04 Hands are 7/64ths, not 5/48ths, and so on. 285.34 is clearly wrong as well; the list goes on.
- Let's get to layering stuff now.
- 189.34, 191.89: How are these jumps?
- 194.89: How is this a hand?
- 202.39: That small insignificant pulsing noise doesn't warrant an 8th jump density here
- 214.54: How is this a jump?
- 214.77: This was stepped as a jump but 215.37 was not
- 215.59: How exactly are these hands? These are at most jumps if you really wanted emphasis.
- 216.57: Did you mean to place this jump on the 8th after? It makes no sense on this 16th
- 222.04: Missing jump
- Going to skip over this part, found some layering inconsistencies and time to move on
- 267.19: Missing jump
- 271.54-271.84: What are these jumps going to? Surely not the low bass sound
- 272.89: These 16ths should just be single notes, nothing is being layered here
- I could go on, but there is a fundamental problem here: The layering changes willy nilly. There is a general idea there, but it needs to be placed together that's more cohesive. The color messes are also unacceptable, those are clearly not the rhythms the song has.

(H) We Are Hi-Speed (Remix)
[6/10]
* 2034 steps
* 799 jumps
* 6 Hands
Layout:
- First 81 seconds are filler
- There are several 16th sections with a few bursts up until 114.11.
- 194.11 to the end doesn't add anything interesting to the file, the player has already been subjected to this to the intense parts before. So 184.11-226.11 is basically filler.
- From this, 66.11-186.11 would be a great alternative that keeps the good stuff.
Notes for 66.11-186.11:
- 66.11: Don't go with a "layer everything" mindset here
- From my previous notes
- 83.49, 86.99, 87.49, 91.24, 98.99, etc.: These should be either the technically correct full 32nd bursts or 24ths with the same patterning as of right now.
- 85.93, 93.55: Missing 16th note
- 105.86: 32nds, not 24ths. If 24ths are going to be used here since the patterning does work out, go back to 83.49 and such parts and change them to 24ths accordingly
- 131.61: There's a 3/16th here, no 12ths are involved
- 133.49: See 83.49
- In fact, most of my notes on the previous resubmission still apply here. Go back to those and look at them again.
- Layering stuff now
- 92.74, 93.61: How is this a jump?
- 100.24: This is a jump but 100.49 and 104.24 are not?
- 141.11: How is this a jump?
- 142.11: Why is this a jumpglut?
- 144.49, 146.36: Why is this a jump?
- The file still has some layering ambiguity, but it seems less anchor heavy than before.
- This file has potential to make a good hard file with this cut, but the layering needs to be more clear and the bursts have to be more unified.

(H) Where's Bill
[5/10]
* 2472 steps
* 1257 jumps
* 180 Hands
Layout:
- Previous batch notes have mentioned the stepmania cut of this song and that might be one of the best alternatives.
- 150.36-206.27 Is filler
- 206.27-240.29: Many complex bursts.
- 244.04-297.09: More 16th jumpstreams
- So I'm seeing two alternatives here, go with the stepmania cut, or go from 206.27 to 297.09. I'm doing the latter in this judgment since it has a lot of complexity that's more interesting than the first half.
Notes from 206.27 to 297.09:
- Going to my previous hard songs batch notes, 58.59 is still an incorrect trill. Either double the BPM here and step 9/64ths or make the BPM 192 and step a 16th trill, right now this is just gallops.
- Anyways, changed offset to -0.048
- 210.89: See 210.89 in my previous batch notes
- 214.98: See 214.98 in my previous batch notes
- 217.64: See 217.64 in my previous batch notes
- 220.02: This section still hasn't been fixed from the previous batch notes
- 235.67: The way this is stepped right now it's just a bunch of awkward color gallops and it's obviously wrong; there are BPM changes here but instead this part is left as a colored offsync mess
- There's more. But the point is, there are still errors in my previous batch notes that are in this file. I did see some parts changed however, so that's a good sign that at least the notes aren't totally ignored.
- Onto layering stuff
- 206.25-214.84: Nothing here warrants hands
- 217.98: Not a hand
- 234.85: Jump out of nowhere
- 244.43-249.34: These are not hands either
- Most of these hands don't make sense. A good majority of the jumps can be figured out, but the file's a bit convoluted. The color messes need to be fixed.
- I still would say it's a good idea to stick to either the second half or the first half (the stepmania cut). Both parts basically subject the player to similar 16th sections and several complex bursts, there isn't a need to repeat the same theme twice especially from a hard songs perspective.

Odd22
[5/10]
* 1760 steps
* 465 jumps
Layout:
- Many BPM changes in this sporadic track. 16th sections with tricky bursts.
Notes:
- 75.18-110.60: I've noticed this same pattern keeps getting repeated over and over again and it gets annoying after a while. Vary this up more
- Some jumps I could follow, but most jumps were obscure. For a file with this kind of complexity and intensity, layering should be conservative.
- Time to look around the file and see if there is also some technical integrity here to not mislead the player.
- 41.64: Note offsetting in this section of the file is unnecessary, these are just 16ths. The offsetting goes to 52.69
- 57.74: This 24th is too late, the 12th before is what you're looking for
- 96.32: What's with this speedup? This is going WAY faster than the actual sounds
- 96.68: This color mess is basically entirely wrong. There isn't anything that sounds complex here, there are a lot of ghost notes and wrong BPMs used. I'm still wondering why these BPM changes are here, because they made this section completely wrong.
- 104.62: This is a 16th, not a 12th
- 104.94: There isn't a 24th burst here, it's just 16ths
- 107.33, 108.03: The 24th gallops being stepped here are really just 16ths
- 111.07: See 104.94
- 112.84: This is a 32nd burst, not a 24th burst
- 117.43, 117.48: Ghost notes. There isn't a 32nd burst here.
- 118.90: There is an 8th with a 32nd triplet on the 16th after, but no 24ths
- 119.07: Missing note, 119.22 is a ghost note
- 119.64: Ghost note. See 107.33
- 123.69, 129.99: Like 117.43, there are no 32nd bursts in these parts
- 125.22: See 118.90
- These errors repeat.
- There are some rather serious technical issues that inflate the difficulty of the file and they need to be fixed (especially 96.68 and the speedup right before it). The layering needs to be more clear; the file has potential, but it needs cleaning up.

Robotomy
[2/10]
* 3617 steps
* 498 jumps
* 3 Hands
Notes:
- I am going to randomly select several errors I spotted throughout the file and see what's been changed. What I say here like in my previous batch notes for this file is based off 254 BPM.
- The BPM is still 127. This is a bad sign.
- 75.88: Offsetting issue still here
- 96.18: Still a color mess burst instead of a 32nd burst
- 120.28: Intervals are still wrong
- 151.22, 156.90, 166.82: These still have not been fixed. The parts are 5/64ths.
- 169.37: Fixes for this still haven't been applied
- 196.03: Still grossly misstepped.
- 219.26: An entire 16th section here is still missing. Admittedly this is optional and not really an error.
- 249.62: Same offsetted note issue as last time
- 271.81: Fixes for this still haven't been applied
- 274.07: Interval usage is still wrong
- 319.41: Still grossly misstepped.
- 328.71: These pseudo hands are still here, the bursts are way faster than the actual sounds
- 331.46: Still grossly misstepped.
- A lot of jumps still do not make sense. Some looked sensible, but most are not clear. The hands definitely aren't clear.
- This is telling me that the large backlog of notes I had for this file have been ignored. Even the simple suggestion of 254 BPM was ignored. Some parts may have been changed, but an effort needs to be shown first that judge notes are actually going to be taken seriously and this file isn't going to be forced through the judging system.

samurai7694

(H) a (hi19hi19) 7.5/10

- nice use of single arrow, jump, and hands at the beginning for the "1,2,3"
- 11.158s, this is a really nasty dore-style anchor pattern which I would recommend sort of mirroring back and forth every time a 16th note is present (something like 32[34] 3 23[12] [12] [12] [12] instead)
- 17.158s and 17.388s, these jumps have a deeper bass sound which can be properly emphasized on different arrows instead of the same [12] jump
- 27.311s, ew reverse roll, reliving that roll from FREEDOM DiVE
- With the section starting at 82.236s, the 16th notes are really quiet and to me these arrows sort of act like ghost notes
- That ending is really tricky as well as the long 8th note jack in an earlier section
- I thought it was fun but there were a few sections that personally bothered me.

(H) Blue Zenith (Reshiram) 5/10

- With the section starting at 31.230s, hands are going to the chord changes but are the 4th note jumps going to the bass kick? If so, there are missing 8th note jumps
- 48.555s and 49.455s, missing 16th note
- 60.630s, what is this jump going to?
- 75.630s, I assume these 32nd notes are going to the vocals and while it might be almost rhythmically accurate, it seems cluttered with the jumps thrown in there to layer in the other instruments
- 81.630s, the 16th note rhythms are really quiet and it makes no sense to me why there should be arrows to a sound that almost can't be heard
- It's labeled as a hard file but even with the fixes, it wouldn't really be much of a hard chart because what gives this chart a difficulty spike are the 16th notes which I personally think shouldn't be layered if the sound is too quiet. Song choice is important for a hard songs batch. If a song doesn't provide speed, complex rhythms, or anything that's begging for challenging steps, then it will be very difficult to make a reasonable hard chart for that song.

(H) Bolt Thrower In A Chinese Restaurant (hi19hi19 & samurai7694) [PASS]

- I don't have much to say about this chart other than possible fixes in the future assuming it ever gets accepted to make the patterns more FFR friendly since some patterns might not convert well.

(H) Call me it. (500 Tortures) (gameboy42690) 7/10

- 34.531s, not a clear 32nd note rhythm
- 90.411s, 113.411s, 113.451s, 121.091s, and 121.131s, these 24th notes and 12th notes might convert as a mini jack on FFR
- 155.731s, that's a pretty tricky transition
- I also think the song is really repetitive and so are the 8th note jumps.

(H) Die Die Die Winnipeg Die Fuckers Die (choof) 7/10

- 231.741s, really overlayered section in my opinion and a bit inconsistent since jumps were going to the percussion for the previous 230 seconds. The patterns are really tricky as well.
- I don't think repetitive is the right word for the song or chart but the constant 8th note jumps/hands become boring after a while. This would be a good test of consistency/stamina/patience though.

(H) Double K.O (Reshiram) 7/10

- There are lots of missing 16th notes for the hi hat rhythms such as 3.849s and 4.822s for example.
- The layering is a bit inconsistent as well with the jumps going to both the melody and the percussion in random sections in the beginning.
- 90.378s, what's the point of the 64th notes if it sounds like straight 12th note rhythms?
- Minor changes needed but other than that the file is okay.

(H) For UltraPlayers (rCaliberGX) 8/10

- Missing hands for crash cymbals such as at 59.946s and 60.244s
- 65.618s, really awful 121 transition that might not convert well on FFR. Please fix.

(H) Hajnal 2 (FFR Pro 21) 6.5/10

- The first arrow lands on 0.289s, meaning there isn't 2 seconds of silence in the mp3 file before the first beat.
- 20.461s, that arrow should be a right arrow to follow the same pitch as the other right arrows after it
- 32.358s, those color arrows going to the violin to me is awkward and breaks the flow of the 8th note rhythms
- 37.645s, check the sync of these arrows properly. The other sections with color arrows or arrows going to the vocals or string instruments sound offsync as well.
- 52.358s, I actually really like the way you interpreted this section
- 63.996s, the buzz noise actually starts here
- 75.765s, really nice speedup here
- 141.283s, this part will probably not go well with the other judges but it's a really easy pattern though tricky to time because of the jumps
- 169.904s, overlayered
- 228.526s, this section would be better off without any arrows for the break. Vocals don't always have to be stepped.
- 236.457s, no point in using the 64th notes if the rhythm lands on the 16th notes
- 257.233s, that 212 pattern will not convert well on FFR. Please fix.
- The ending section could be left blank and just have the last arrow at the cello (268.441s)
- As much as I really want this song on FFR, the chart needs to go through some changes.

(H) Happy End of the World (rCaliberGX) 7/10

- 42.590s really silent 48th notes
- 143.275s I don't get what this 48th note jump is going to
- It feels super overlayered and it's basically just 6 minutes of 16th notes and 24th notes. It gets boring real fast.#
- The only major issues I had were the 48ths. Everything else, rhythmically, was okay.
- A cut for the song would have been nice.

(H) Prequel to the Sequel (Tidus810) 9/10

- It reminds me of a traditional dore file without any major difficulty spikes or ridiculous patterns.
- Holy crap the song-style changes are awesome.
- The song was still feeling too long for my taste, particularly the last 2 minutes because the average NPS drops significantly.
- I thought the song was still pretty cool and the chart was well done.

(H) retard fish frog (the great speedcore trendkill) (HeZe) [!] 0/10

- There's two difficulties instead of one.

(H) Rock the House (rushyrulz) 8/10

- 13.633s and 25,976s, assuming the jumps are going to the bass kick, this jump doesn't belong here
- Near the end, 8th note jumps are missing for emphasizing the melody (example: 112.376s)
- Fun chart overall.

(H) Sane in a crazy world (WB remix) [M0nkeyz] 7/10

- The arrows going to the vocals in the beginning aren't synced too well.
- It sort of ended weird too in my opinion. It could have ended better at 109.272s
- There are some inconsistencies with layering such as missing jumps for the bass kicks at 32.688s, 32.822s, 33.222s, 33.755s, etc.
- I'm not a fan of those 192nd notes.
- The song is interesting and the chart ends at a decent length, I think. The chart needs a few fixes, mostly due to layering inconsistencies.

(H) Speedcore 300 (XelNya) 6/10

- 14.329s, I'm not sure why there needs to be a 192nd note jump here in place of 16th notes
- 15.825s, in this section here, there are inconsistencies with rhythm. At times, the 8th notes go to the high pitched sound in the background and sometimes it goes to the bass kicks.
- 24.425s, this section (and several other sections) could do better without 32nd note grace notes in my opinion
- 51.625s, two things I would recommend here: pattern variety to emphasize the change in speed, or use 32nd note rolls to force a wall for the next two measures
- 56.358s, really nasty 434 patterns that might not convert well on FFR
- 97.625s, awkward 16th note pattern here
- 116.825s, awkward one-handed transition to the jumptrill
- The 32nd note grace notes is what bothers me most. Everything else are just minor fixes.

(H) Szycag (mi40) 6/10

- 2.477s, jumps to hi hats but jumps to bass kicks in the beginning?
- I really suggest having the song cut/fade out at 277.274s. I don't mind long songs/charts but there's not much variety going on here except straight 16th notes with just two or three tricky color-note sections.
- 314.586s, awkward 343 pattern that might not convert well on FFR
- The last minute was cool. I'd suggest cutting out all the long pauses and breaks to have a 3-4 minute cut of all the hard parts together.
- Some of the bursts stepped aren't even rhythmically accurate either. Some of the 32nd notes are okay but some are just there to fill a gap, especially the polyrhythms near the beginning.
- Song length and repetition is the biggest issue I have hear. Consider using cuts next time.

(H) Tuk Tuk Boshi (bmah) 8/10

- Typical bmah file
- I'm still not a huge fan of 192nd notes/64th notes.
- The jumpjack section was actually pretty challenging.

(H) Ultraviolent Junglist (mi40) 9/10

- Brutal. Super brutal. And yet I really like it. There's a break before the last minute of the chart where I wish it was cut there but the color note wall was real crazy.
- I thought it was cool. It might be just bias because I like this particular song for its really odd rhythms but I thought it was cool overall. I still think the song length is a bit too long, though.

(H) We Are Hi-Speed (Remix) (mi40) 8/10

- 31.219s, wrong jump placement. It should be on the 4th note before it.
- 73.594s, no use for a jump here since there's only one note playing here
- 131.761s, why a 12th note here and not a 16th note like in the other similar sections?
- Very minor errors. The song was okay. The chart was pretty fun.

(H) Where's Bill (mi40) 8.5/10

- 220.159s, these arrows are weird as in it doesn't really make sense rhythmically
- Interesting rhythms in this particular song. Chart was okay.

TC_Halogen

I had to get really brief for this batch; I do apologize. Timing didn’t work out well for me at all.

a (hi19hi19)
Rating: 6/10 -> [+?]

- not too fond of the jump usage overall; accenting doesn’t feel right because of the extreme amount of jumps on occasion
- layering as a whole feels a bit aggressive, particularly 63.774 to 75.774, where the melody doesn’t quite fill out a 16th note rhythm
- there are some split-handed 32nd bursts, which is a bit unreasonable given that there are always some 3/32nd gaps created with 32nd bursts into jumps – these cause some pretty harsh difficulty increases
- file’s rhythms are accurate, but the structure leaves something to be desired, particularly near the end

Blue Zenith (Reshiram)
Rating: 3/10 -> [?]

- various inconsistencies with jump placement
- strange start points for synth/percussion (42.030 and 46.830, as two examples)
- awkward changes in structure without notable musical instruction (see: 55.230 to 74.430)
- massive jumpstream at 81.630 doesn’t seem appropriate because the synth fades in and out beyond recognition at some points and the filter sound doesn’t seem to carry straight 16ths either; the second half of the stream at 96.030 doesn’t quite cleanly distinguish/separate the bass drum and the synth that occurs on the off chance
- ridiculous spike at 113s
- file simply doesn’t work for me
- 131.430: this is actually quite a letdown in terms of accenting/building; you really reduce the intensity here
- holistically, file simply does not work; there are various technical errors, the structure is not very coherent in a number of areas, and there are some ridiculous pattern choices in spots

Bolt Thrower in a Chinese Restaurant (hi19hi19 + samurai7694)
Rating: 5/10 -> [+?]
- the sampling in this song is batshit fucking insane; your rhythms are mostly correct down to .2 rate – HOWEVER, the chart is beyond unreasonable because the jump placement is simply overdone
; you need to go through this song at 1.0 rate and pick only the most notable samples to accent
- the patterns not laced with jumps are extremely abrasive, but the abrasion feels right given the song
- jack usage could be checked again to ensure it’s consistent – there are some instances of similar sampling in different areas being represented with and without jack usage
- the second repetition of the violent breaks plays a bit better, minus 160.351 (the fuck is that)
- this is the file that breaks the 1-99 scale; you can’t put this at 99, it’s just too hard.
- rhythms are reasonably accurate given the sample artifacting, but the structure needs work – the jumps have to be reconsidered when looking at the file at 1.0 rate, as many are not comprehendible at normal speed

Call me it. (500 Tortures) (gameboy42690)
Rating: 7.5/10 -> [+.]

- 23.371/31.051: chain to the jacks
- 35.011 to 50.371: missing notes for the melody on occasion, although none of them are the super noticeable high notes, so they are passable (35.311, 36.271, 37.231, etc)
- 83.131/85.031: missing note
- 127.171 to 142.286: what’s dictating the separation between having 8th notes and not having 8th notes?
- 132.931/140.611: I want to say that the trills don’t follow anything, but there are the long bass notes here that don’t appear anywhere else, haha – I’m guilty of using filler trills like this for difficulty (to luv anyone?)
- end repetition of the melody: see 35.011 to 50.371
- I like this file quite a bit; some clarity on the section from 127.1s to 142.2s would be nice rather than having those strange gaps

Die Winnipeg Die Die Die Fuckers Die (choof)
Rating: 5/10 -> [+?]

- file does take quite a while to get going; the intro 30 seconds are quite repetitive – this could be cut down a bit
- jump usage through early half of the file isn’t consistent (taking a look at some contrasting things here as examples: 33.875/34.275, 35.075/35.475, 41.341/41.741, cutoff crash at 49.208, but only a single at 50.408 – the list can go on for a while and the file is quite unstable in the first bit)
- various missing notes/added (ghosted) notes: 45.941, 54.741, 55.741, 57.941, 58.045 (etc)
- 70.275: the jacks on the right arrow don’t quite work because the faded/phased/whateverthefuckisgoingonwiththat synth doesn’t quite quantize to 8ths
- 103.341 to 111.741: 8 seconds of no steps despite sound going on; I know it might not be in the best interest to chart ad-lib sampling, but it’s better than having nothing at all
- 119.741 to 149.608: it feels like there are a few too many jumps throughout this area due to jumps placed for the two 8th notes to the strange SFX at 128.141, 130.008, 135.608 – aggression is one thing but this feels a bit overcharted
- snares seem to still be inconsistently accented in situations where pattern would acceptably permit them to be accented as jumps
- at this point, we start hitting the streamy part of the file; I’m a fan of the heavy jumpstreaming because it definitely fits the intensity of the file, but there are some issues that I have with the structure:
----- the concept of jumpstreaming is reasonable, but I feel like the accenting could do a bit more in some spots (things like 187.875 are a nice touch)
----- you do have a few strange interruptions AND extra notes when transitioning out of the heavy percussion + fast hi-hat combinations; some of the interruptions really bother me because it seems like it’s for the purpose of accenting repeated 8th note percussion samples, yet you actually accent them in stream a bit later
----- at 224.275, I am not a big fan of anchoring the [34] because it reduces the accenting of the actual bass drum itself; you could alleviate this by anchoring one of the two arrows and then having the other one coincide for the bass; it would look quite nasty and would definitely play more uncomfortably (and who doesn’t want more difficulty for a song like this ). Also note that the sound does play at 225.341, so you would want nine repeated taps, not just eight.
----- 231.471 to 239.208: I think it would be best if you omitted the jumps to the snare so that the chart was very clearly following the melody; the snare is prominent, but mixing a powerful percussion element with a not so strong synth is chart structure is strange and doesn’t feel right
----- 239.208 to 246.675: the combination of structures here is extremely messy; you’re accenting the bass drum in combination with the melody, and then choosing to add jumps when the now-subtle synth plays on beats 2 and 4 – with all three of these put together, the layering is unreasonably heavy
----- 246.675: I like this patterning a bit, but the interruption of the jumps with the subtle snare is a bit jarring
----- 253.875 to 284.008: in my opinion, this is where your chart really shines – the repetitive two-jump based patterning really accents the differentiation between the samples on beats 1/3 and 2/4 (this does happen a bit earlier on, but it is by far most noticeable here); I wish you would have applied a similar method earlier on with repeated single jumps but more free-formed patterning in the 16ths, because you’d have a very solid chart if you did
- there’s a few more jumpstreams that use repeated patterning similarly to the above note, but they get interrupted with some jumps that I’m not a fan of (ex: the three jumps at 301.608 are fine, but I don’t quite like the five jumps at 302.141; jump usage at 309.075 is poor and actually part of a small direct copy-paste
- rest of the file really isn’t notable and could have easily been cut; not a fan of the structure past 321.341 anyway…
- this file could be very very memorable if given a proper cut and a really solid structure, but as it stands, no go.

Double K.O. (Reshiram)
Rating: 4.5/10 -> [?]

- this file does a lot of rhythmic generalization because the hi-hat runs frequently in the background of the song at constant 16ths; with that being said, the rhythmic representation seems to change a lot – I’m a fan of using five 16th notes in a row to give that typical drum-and-bass feel, but having it simply repeat that rhythm over and over again rather than giving that separation (think: 1 + 2 +a3e+ 4e+a) feels so awkward
- you also don’t opt into following the hi-hat in entirety for obvious reasons, but that forces judges to understand your interpretation and I’m personally not following why there are differences in the number of notes used in some of the 16th blips (see: 4.903, 7.011 as examples; 12,043 is borderline acceptable)
- triple usage feels overdone in the intro given that there’s no situation of three coinciding instruments to force the triples and the song is overall quiet; triples for bass are strange on occasion because they come before substantially louder snares and being that direct layering isn’t a part of this structure, it feels erroneous
- file feels unreasonably forced throughout
- more specific issues:
----- vocal sync could be better from 15.945 to 19.837 (there’s even a note missing for the second syllable of machine somewhere around 19.594)
----- 22.108: should not be a direct ascension with regards to PR, it would be more like 1213 (or any derivative of that) as opposed to the 1/(3 or 4)/5/6
----- 25.108: extra note; also go down to 26.405/26.567 and you’ll notice that the percussion deviates a bit – you most definitely should be taking on any deviation you can considering that your chart structure is inherently repetitive
----- 36.248: missing notes although they might be deliberately omitted because of the upcoming triple (which, given other parts of the file, is strange to omit; see 80.292 for an instance where you have no problem connecting two triples with 16ths)
----- 38.113: missing note for percussion, could easy be put in without too much issue
----- 41.615/41.696/41.858/41.939: why are these accented as jumps when 41.129 is a bass drum without a jump? this actually muddles your structure when it could have been considerably cleaner
----- 43.511: 64th note placement isn’t correct
----- 45.520: what is followed by the 16ths here is barely audible; I only realized what it went to after realizing what was different from it and 48.115
----- 48.763: should only be 16ths
----- 54.623 to 71.525: inconsistent triple usage – sometimes snares + sound effect are triples, sometimes the snares alone are triples, sometimes the snares aren’t even accommodated for as triples because the bass suddenly takes precedence mid-phrase; the structure isn’t ever really established as certain featured are represented a single time and no other times
----- 66.966: while there is a clear snare repeating here, you also have the low-end synth increasing in pitch in the exact same interval as the snare, so it would be better to actually use ascending jumps to accommodate for that
----- 73.640: nice job catching the change in panning here (RLRLR)
----- 75.752 to end: more confusion over structure; you never really establish what is taking precedence in what seems to be an accenting-driven chart (i.e. in a chart that doesn’t seem to rely on coinciding instruments)
----- 90.479: 64th notes? If they’re following the bass, they’re not in the right spot
----- 92.648: this seems like a pretty arbitrary quad
- file needs a lot of work; it has proper rhythms for the most part but the structure is very very far from being sound

For UltraPlayers (rCaliberGX)
Rating: 7/10 -> [+.]

- 3.229 to 8.006: solid layering for the opening – a bit of PR could be added to the jumps to accent the ascension in pitch
- 10.692/11.289: I understand that the lack of jumps here is to appropriately accent the guitar at 10.991, but it feels weird to see this emptiness given that you use jumps for all previous 4th notes
- 33.826: the toms are a bit hard to hear here, so the jumps feel a bit overdone
- 35.468/36.662/37.856/38.453/38.677: add triples here – with the 8th note before these notes accenting a light crash cymbal, you could add the triple and the patterning of a jump-single-triple would appropriately accent the light crash-snare-big crash with your structure
- 47.856: if you’re going to accommodate for these 16ths, it might be a decent idea to catch all of the other missing bass drum kicks in this section as well; it’s actually pretty difficult to hear what 48.006 is going to in the first place
- 49.448/50.742: missing notes for percussion here
- 53.579: strange to make these all jumps, but it’s not completely out of line given that it is a transition to the next section, I suppose
- 62.334: make this a grace note; there are two notes here that are slightly separated
- 66.215: should be 16ths
- 70.935: this is a pretty tight quantize (64th), but you’re missing a guitar note – if you don’t like the 64th placement, a 16th will suffice at 70.916 – the choice is yours
- 71.140: two snares here, so a mini-jack will keep your structure consistent compared to earlier on
- 112.334: should be 24ths here
- AS A WHOLE: look into your triple placement for crashes, there are many instances where you don’t catch them for whatever reason
- clear layering structure; PR could use some slight improvement and some triples should be added for crash cymbals, but otherwise, this file is reasonably done.

Hajnal 2 (FFR Pro 21)
Rating: 4/10 -> [?]

- this file kept crashing on me in DDreamStudio initially; it might have had something to do with the 201 Kbps bitrate
- with the offset change, your first step starts at 0.276.
- your chart opens out with following the bass and the sampled chorus; when they coincide, they both repeat the same note for their respective instruments yet the jumps just seem randomized – I don’t expect you to just repeat jumps because while correct, that would admittedly be kind of dull; instead you could repeat three taps for a single step since you opted into using more free-formed patterning for the bass
- 25.276/(etc): for the sake of clarity, you should likely make this (and all other instances like this) a [34] jump rather than a [24] because all four notes are the same and the difference in volume/filtering is negligible
- 38.897 to 75.104: some spots have decent pattern repetition and an overall comprehendible structure, but the heavy layering constrains patterning really badly, not to mention there’s some inconsistent triple usage and overtone (percussion buzzing) accenting
- the speed-up snare roll causes the file to go offsync 40 milliseconds with a proper offset
- from 80.752 to 125.753: structure isn’t very solid; jumps can be placed a bit more appropriately
- 106.442 to 125.753: structure is alright at best – there are a lot of inconsistencies in jumps for the bass drums as some are accented and others are not
- 122.760: this is an interesting (not in a bad way imo) transition
- 141.271: big mistake here – jumps inside of a 32nd roll THIS long is horrific at this tempo; if you wanted to accommodate for the really long snare sampling, you could have done a much more reasonable 24th run with jumps in it
- 169.862: the first 24ths are right and the 16th jump is right as well, but when you hit that 16th jump, you’re doing an offset 24th burst (so: 16/48/48/16, and then 8/12/24/4)
- 189.978: visually, this pattern looks horrid – also, 32nds are not quite right and they start quite a bit later than you have marked (190.366 is where they seem to audibly begin)
- 191.144: this is where your jumps should be placed in this section as opposed to where they are now
- 201.961: being that the snare is faded, immediately breaking into a 48th roll is a bit rough
- 214.031: being that the weird-ish bass sound overpowers the violin here, the jumps feel a bit out of place
- 216.531: same here, but with the vocals instead of the violin
- 233.686: this note and the one after should be triples for the cut-off cymbal crashes
- 236.531: see 149.633
- 244.548: kinda same issue as 189.978
- 257.221: mini-jack forced here
- 259.893: missing triples for crashes
- large amount of structural errors, from occasional misrhythms to a large amount of structural inconsistencies

Happy End of the World (rCaliberGX)
Rating: 5/10 -> [+?]

- I really dislike the structure in the half BPM sections of this song, which unfortunately covers a lot of the song…
- 21.749: chord here, so jump in your chart should be added
- 37.538: with the snare starting at 37.643, having the triple as [124] implicates a non-existent snare
- 42.591: can’t hear anything that would potentially match this burst
- 43.222 to 78.591: jump usage feels strange mostly because the snare is consistently accented as jumps but is clearly not the most prominent instrument – additionally, some 4th note jumps feel a bit out of place not because they don’t make sense, but because they’re following something that is pretty far in the background compared to other instruments
- 72.275: what’s with the mess of polyrhythms here?
- 83.643 to 138.591: this part of the song is musically amazing, but it does not lend itself to making a great chart because it is simply really slow, repetitive, and nothing stands out about the section aside from very regular drum filling
- 100.380: with your layering structure, there’s no reason for this to be a single tap
- 116.170: this tap should form a mini-jack for PR purposes, it’s a pretty noticeable repeated note
- 122.801: seems like there are some more notes here for the drum fill
- 124.064: the melody here doubles in speed – your density could easily increase here rather than staying on the repetitive 8th note structure
- 167.783/(etc): repeated taps?
- 180.414: not really sure what to think of this; I’m definitely not fond of it
- 185.467: layering seems pretty spot on here; chimes or piano take one jump, snare takes the other, and it’s clear because there are some upbeat accents that cause 4ths to (correctly) become single taps on this layering structure
- 230.941 to 261.257: nothing clearly identifies what the 4th note jumps are following unlike the first section; if there is something there, it is completely masked out by the piano
- 266.309 to 323.151: jump usage could use some improvement because like the previous section, 4th note jumps aren’t quite clear (irrelevant: omg that piano chord + string key change at 286.520 aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa)
- 275.309: triple stands out as erroneous to me
- 282.572/283.046: both triples feel incorrect given the note’s sharpness; the second one feels more incorrect than the first because it’s actually not in the right spot (it should be up a 24th note)
- honestly, this song could have easily been cut – it’s way overlayered and way too long

Prequel to the Sequel (Tidus810)
Rating: 5.5/10 -> [+?]

- 25.072/29.872/(etc): missing notes for bass (potentially intentional to avoid polys but worth nothing since it’s glaring)
- 21.312 to 40.522: since the kick hasn’t started running constantly here, there’s a large possibility for you to rearrange your patterns to prevent repeated taps while still following PR; it just takes a lot of shifting around, haha
- 84.122/84.247: jumps here for the snares (the toms are here, but the snares are louder for sure), and yes, this would be four more jumps later down plus a few in the 24ths, but it would look better and would be a bit more varied for the player
- 89.275: shift this note up a bit
- 97.237 to 124.929: this section would be a lot better if the guitar chugs were just single taps and the percussion got layered on, kinda like the next section (you could play with patterning for vocals in the next section if you make the change here)
- 153.544 to 160.929: if your jump placement is to vocals in these 24th runs, they are not correct
- 191.989: third jump here does not catch a snare and looks out of place (also, the lack of a jump at 192.322 is also glaring)
- 208.044: forced mini-jack
- 212.544 to 220.044: this is just an extension from the previous section and yet the layering cuts very largely
- 227.544 to 236.544: given that the 192nds obviously accent the guitar effect, what is the distinguishing factor between a jump and a triple here?
- 242.544 to 273.544: quite overlayered – just because the guitar and bass kick coincide doesn’t mean you have to step a massive amount of jumps
- 283.544 to 290.544: very jarring layering change
- 293.521 to 304.042: also quite overlayered
- 396.961: not a great layering change being a part of the same phrase – yes, the accenting structure differs but the percussion structure stays relatively similar in that the bass kick hits two 8th notes for every three, despite the snares coming in here
- 407.761: with a jump happening in this particular instance, you could avoid the minijack
- 425.850/430.650/431.850: keep the left arrow free for these times to accent the guitar more appropriately
- 446.250: another situation where the structure lightly changes, but the layering gets cut pretty badly (we lose the heavy ride but gain a more active hi-hat)
- 458.850: another situation where it just feels massively overlayered and doesn’t look aesthetically pleasing
- 496.549: this is an indication that you might not have picked the best choice of structure aesthetically since there are still varying elements in the song, yet you have repeating taps because of a different choice
- 510.636: see 84.122
- structure is not completely bad, but the song is exceptionally long so if you’re going to execute something like this, you absolutely have to nail it

retard fish frog [the great speedcore trend kill] (HeZe)
Rating: 1/10 -> [-]

- the chart appears to be off by a ridiculously large amount compared to what you’re trying to follow
- I moved your entire chart down one beat, and then set the offset to -2.010
- chart structure as all jumps in the first section is nonsensical given that you go out of a jump sequence just to catch 16ths in between
- additionally, ignoring 32nds at 12.663 makes no sense seeing as how you pick them up at 15.697
- 17.831/18.168: first time has 16ths that follow the melody but the melody is so quiet that it’s arbitrary to follow; the second set is incorrect because the last two notes don’t follow anything
- 19.348: missed note
- 21.538: more taps that don’t clearly follow anything
- these errors just continually repeat until 37.158
- moved the second half of the chart one beat since apparently the chart was off a beat early on and fixing that makes this off by the earlier interval…
- 38.053 to 48.838: the jacks really don’t follow the melody well because there is a glaring missed note every two sets; leaving them out makes no sense given the difficulty
- 51.141: remove jump
- 52.433 to 79.845: looks really bad aesthetically, does not play well at all, and is simply not appropriate for the song at all – if there are some jarring drum accents that you wanted to emulate by jarring and uncomfortable patterns, this could passable on a lucky day; the fact of the matter is that there are just 4th note gabba drums and stuff in between, so it should be fast and smooth
- needs substantial work; file has a poor structure, errors in rhythmic/layering detail, and even has a massive sync issue overall

Rock the House (rushyrulz)
Rating: 4/10 -> [?]

- 5.576 to 9.604: patterns seem quite randomized – it would be totally possible to incorporate the previous, pitch-relevant pattern and combine with 16ths to make it look visually interesting
- 38.490: really stale patterning, it’s just staircases
- 43.976 to 54.947: this part stinks song-wise given the rest of your song – following the bass seems like a good idea since it’s a new element, but being that the synth is pretty prominent here, the repeating notes on the 8ths look really bad, and there’s unfortunately not much you can do about that
- 58.890: keep in mind what your structure is: you have repeating jacks for the repeated vocal samples multiple times before this 16th note bass drum comes here – it would be beneficial for you to opt out of jacks for the bass drum here just so that emphasis can be kept on the vocals for this section
- 60.261: move this right arrow to something else; there are only three repeats for the vocal sample there
- 60.604: missing representation for vocals here, but caught at 61.976 in the same section? (I could understand ignoring it in entirety, but you don’t quite do that)
- 61.676: remove note
- 63.133: add 32nd note here
- 64.461: I hear why you’re doing this, but this an extremely abrupt burst for something that really isn’t noticeable – a single colored note might be better to accent that time-stretched sample at 64.376, rather than hitting the tip of it with a 46 NPS five note burst
- 64.547: being that this is a really big build-up, ignoring the rest of the percussion here is not a good thing
- 65.919 to 126.261: this is horribly repetitive and takes a large amount of the song; the charting in these areas is acceptable aside from occasional missing jumps and extra taps – extras: 76.847, 98.833, 109.633 (make a single); missing: 84.604 (jump), 106.547 (jump)
- 112.736/115.119/(etc): why are these only singles? I understand that there is syncopation to the melody, but these are the highest notes in each phrase and they definitely should be accounted for
- 119.747: being that you are accented all of the prominent taps in the melody, this jump is arbitrarily placed and is likely only placed because of coincidence through bass drum
- 120.733: remove tap
- 129.004: quite the nasty spike at the end of the file
- structure needs some work, but honestly, this song simply doesn’t lend itself for making a good chart – it’s naturally repetitive, and even the best accents cause large spikes in difficulty

Sane in a crazy world [WB Remix] (M0nkeyz)
Rating: 5.5/10 -> [+?]

- sync to vocals could certainly be a bit more accurate
- AS A WHOLE: do your best to avoid repeated taps unless it is unquestionably clear that the samples/sounds you are accenting are exactly the same; there are many instances of ambiguous repetition
- 15.355: missing note for crash cymbal
- 16.155: move this right arrow to an up to catch the two 8th note crash cymbals here
- 17.488: move to up arrow to a down arrow (implies repetition of the vocal samples at 17.088)
- 22.422: missing jump?
- 27.355: this jump feels strange
- 33.222: missing jump
- 34.022/36.155: missing tap
- 34.222: since these sounds are not quite as filling (they’re slightly cutoff), you could get away with removing these jumps since they’re not quite as accented
- 36.288: this pattern proves to me that you’re starting to understand how unlayered accenting works, this is actually quite a smooth transition that catches the repeated vocals
- 43.088: move this tap over to the up arrow, and then remove the up arrow at 43.488 to catch the quieter snare drum there
- 47.888: missing tap
- 49.088: refrain from copy paste; you could mix up your patterns more while keeping that same structure of keeping the same jump on beats 2 and 4 in your song
- 51.488: see 43.088
- 57.355: strange triple
- 57.622 to 73.622: many of these 16ths are difficult to hear because they accent very brief separations in the bass – they are correct, but they’re not easy to hear at all
- 75.161 to 91.694: just kinda boring with 4th tap and 8th jump sequences; being that there are vocals that can fit reasonably well on 4ths and 8ths, you could have layered that in (only if your structure was changed)
- 87.694: given how the jump placement works, these jumps are completely out of place
- 92.494 to 109.294: there are areas of noticeable percussion swing that aren’t accommodated for, and some vocals feel like they are missing in spots despite being followed in others
- not a bad file, but the structure could use some noticeable improvement

Speedcore 300 (XelNya)
Rating: 3/10 -> [?]

- 14.225: white note in place of 16ths seems pretty strange – if you wanted to make a polarizing difference without adding the 32nd burst, you could have added a smooth 16th note blip and then add a 16th note mini-trill since the action to perform the 32nd mini-roll
- 23.025: these 8th notes are mostly arbitrary
- 24.425: patterning is a bit random for the 32nd flams; it’s an interesting way to accent the sound, but the patterns are too mixed up for it to be effective
- 27.625 to 37.825: part of this section is just jumps, the other part is 32nd flams, yet both sections have the sound you accented as flams earlier – pick one or the other
- 49.625: misrhythm
- 51.625: if you’re going to accent the bass drum sequence entirely with 16ths, the least you could do is change the patterning so that it looks a bit different since the song is running at 300 BPM – you don’t even have to speed things up at all
- 54.825: should be four 16ths
- 56.358: 12th note mini-jack at 300 BPM is a no-no when going into a triple
- 59.625 to 66.025: there’s not enough separation between the hi-hats and the buzzes in the bass drum
- 66.025 to 72.425: layering makes sense, but it’s way too light
- 75.475: remove note as per earlier representations
- 80.175: ghost note
- 80.325: mis-rhythm; these 16ths to the hi-hat should be on a 4th note, not an 8th
- 87.975: ghost note
- 91.625 to 102.025: patterns are kinda scattered and random again
- 111.125: jump for bass drum
- 122.025: make a jump
- 128.075: random 16th
- 129.625: only instance of a 32nd roll makes this a difficulty spike
- structure needs work; rhythms are not quite spot on and layering leaves something to be desired

Szycag (mi40)
Rating: 4/10 -> [?]
- cut the song;
I’m not even going to suggest it, this is an absolute requirement to get this accepted as is
- some of the bursts in this file are just nonsense: 46.577, 81.927, 119.777, 148.492 (colors?), 314.549, 323.024, 327.374
- layering is strange/inconsistent in a number of areas, from missing/added jumps in some spots to strange triple place in others
- rhythms are incorrect not only in bursts, but also in plain 16ths as well
- keeping this one really concise: there are numerous rhythmic mistakes and structural mistakes, layering is strange in spots and honestly, the song needs a massive cut to be usable because the song is so monotonous (note: not boring, just… not changing)

Tuk Tuk Boshi (bmah)
Rating: 5.5/10 -> [+?]

- 18.033: missing note
- 18.236 to 31.209: stream is somewhat arbitrary; additionally, the sounds you use to layer in the jumps are omitted in the chart structure in earlier parts, which makes the actual boosts in layering appear to be massive spikes
- 24.621: remove jump, place jump at 24.520 (it’s a bit more of a noticeable sound)
- 44.182 to 56.431: some of these mini-jacks shouldn’t be here – the sound isn’t quite clear all the way through the repeated taps that you are suggesting
- 59.942/63.186/(etc): nice try (should be swung, place 1/48 before the 4th)
- 63.405: this 48th note?
- 65.466/65.567/65.770/66.682: missing notes? (why is 63.000 charted?)
- 96.074 to 108.642: these jumps just look terrible to me given the basis of the added layering, and they don’t play very well either…
- 110.162/110.365/(etc): missing taps for the echoed vocals (even if not prominent, you could add them without adding jacks)
- 123.236 to 134.993: this section is a bit more merited since the layering element is clearly audible, but the patterns are very uncomfortable
- solid structure, but the chart feels incredibly aggressive in spots where it really doesn’t feel like it needs to be

Ultraviolent Junglist (Anaru)
Rating: 3/10 -> [?]

- 9.943: the sound that plays on the left arrow is the same sound that plays for your four U arrows
- 17.593: ^, the L should be moved to R for continuity
- 19.318/19.468/21.868/22.018/23.518/23.668/27.718/27.868/32.068/36.268/38.068/38.218/49.880/49.918/50.818/52.918/53.068/62.368/62.818/90.868/97.818/116.068/(fuckthisshit): missing notes
- I’m not doing this anymore
- layering is unstable; various samples are accounted for jumps/triples in relatively close proximity, jump usage is poor and randomly accounts for snares (or other things)
- burst usage is incorrect in a number of places (46.693 [that whole area], 49.693, 52.055 [etc], 102.193, 215.193, ETC)
- rhythms could use work in a number of places
- being very honest with you, I’m really not putting a huge amount of effort trying to check all of your mistakes past a certain point in the song – I’ve seen enough
- same situation as Szycag; inconsistent layering structure, incorrect rhythms in spots, nonsensical burst usage in some spots, and the song is ungodly long and could use a cut

We Are Hi-Speed (mi40)
Rating: 4/10 -> [?]

- after 9 different judgments, there are still glaring (objective) errors that have not been resolved – the fact that the first mistake of 8th jumps at 31.219 indicates that you’ve taken no time to really go through notes
- the usual: inconsistent jump usage that doesn’t always appropriately follow the sequences properly; things like 58.844 to 59.844 and 60.594/60.844/61.094 show that attention isn’t paid to prominent percussion samples, or how 73.594 is a single note or how 80.594 should be a jump, or how 85.844 is a jump + 32nd flam and yet the same sound (with slightly more samples) is a three note burst with no jump on the 8th
- layering isn’t ever clearly defined
- rhythms are ok but there are noticeable errors
- etc…

Where’s Bill (mi40)
Rating: 3/10 -> [?]

- intro has a lot of 8th notes that are chained for whatever reason
- 14.659: 32nds are a bit too fast for this
- 30.204 to 50.795: many of these 16ths are barely audible – some are to vocals but on occasion, the ones to vocals become jumps for no apparent reason (39.341/39.613, 41.250/41.522 [missing note at 41.454 btw]
- 58.568: trill needs some correction in rhythm here
- 93.886: the coloring is enough to accent the fact that the pitch of the bass drum has changed
- 100.159: chopping of the samples really doesn’t merit 192nd usage, honestly
- 101.522: see 93.866
- 119.522: should be 3/32
- 131.113: cohesive coloring would have been appropriate here; discoloring only a piece of the triples is a bit messy
- 136.704: no differentiation from the previous section that also uses jumps exclusively
- 142.432: rhythm is not quite right
- 183.341: song could easily end here and honestly, I’m not going any further than this
- jump usage is poor, and triple usage is not much better
- a few obvious misrhythms, but more notably a lot of questionably added notes
- really not much more to say; file doesn’t have a solid structure and fails to differentiate between sections of differing music intensity accordingly

A White Cat Sings Lovely Jazz Waltz / ilikexd & jimerax
rating: 8/10 [+]
- 1.78s: the intro should still be in 12ths to remain consistent with time signature (like you do at 167.16s)
- 21.09s,45.14s: the gallop starts before the 4th, not on it
- 41.83s: 12th, not 16th
- 58.07s: if you're not stepping the swingy piano chords, you might as well omit this
- I do recommend stepping a bit more of the bg piano in significant places such as 59.65s as you do acknowledge it elsewhere (e.g. 62.89s)
- 72.89s: missed 12th to melodic swing
- good flow in places such as 129.20s
- 152.08s,153.70s,155.32s,etc.: missed accordion chords everywhere
- 163.79s: you can do rolls here to the flourish/glissando
- love the ending with the very smooth 24th rolls
- Summary: Beautiful song, stepped pretty smoothly. Missed several of the accordion melody in a few places, but mostly clean overall.

- 10.65s,16.30s,19.12s: not a very audible jump, can be omitted
- 14.01s: I think the horn in this particular place is actually a 16th
- 28.06s,etc.: having the trills start on the inner down or up arrows is ass, but it plays to the melody well
- over time though, the runningmen/trills become pretty old
- 56.64s,etc.: optional, but you can have the 16th drums in a more random direction that breaks from the trills
- 100.06s: sort of awkward patterns for 24ths, but it's certainly pretty unique
- 119.82s: although it'd be funny if you stepped the guitar here, I think you made a structurally good decision to give the streams a break
- 131.11s: awesome PR
- 142.23s: finish stepping the guitar!
- 150.79s: don't hear this 16th
- 152.73s: the 32nds begin a bit earlier here
- 158.11s: the triplet 16th drums would be great if you added them here, not sure how you'd do it though if you want to retain the current structure
- 160.06s,160.23s,etc.: you might as well step the drum patterns here as well, making these jumps
- 208.11s: I would've hoped the 24ths would be a bit smoother here for the ending chord, but this is still acceptable
- Summary: The structure of this file is impeccable. Very fun and certainly leaves a great impression!

Firstaidvision / DossarLX ODI
rating: 7/10 [+.]
- 33.40s,etc.: a small amount of anchors is fine at this bpm, but long strings of them are awkward, so try to reduce longer strings of repeated arrows (you can hit these runningmen as semi-jumps as well, but I would prefer some flow instead)
- a few transitions were difficult to pull off: the [23] jumps after the right arrows at 31.95s for instance
- Summary: The file is actually more reasonable than it appears, but I still feel that the anchor patterns from trills and runningmen make the file more forcefully unergonomic than necessary.

I / samurai7694
rating: 3.5/10 [?]
- 3.96s,71.49s: this 32nd roll is made more difficult than needed by adding a jump at the start and then ending in a hand. Reduce one or more things here, such as taking out the jump at the beginning, or reducing the hand to a jump, or maybe both.
- 17.32s: jump for consistency
- 21.51s: don't put the last 12th here, which creates a minijack
- 35.72s: js pattern doable, but could flow better (more awkward at around 36.66s)
- 37.22s: maybe ease up on the types of rolls as it may be more messed up from framers after conversion. Also perhaps end the 32nd wall in a jump instead.
- 49.08-56.44s: missed a lot of unique 16th sounds here
- 58.71s,69.79s: jump to melody
- 60.44s: the fast piano melody begins a bit earlier here. Also, the piano plays on 12ths, not 16ths
- 62.77s,69.99s,86.42s: missed 16th
- 64.17s: theoretically this can essentially be [34][12][34][12][134], but hitting the left arrow jack is still dumb at this bpm
- 66.53s: take into account the repeated 8th bass drum hits
- 71.49s: why not make these 16ths going to the piano?
- 78.99s: jumps stuffed between 32nds at this bpm is not a good thing
- 88.72-91.51s: the speedup is fairly reasonable until you get to this part where there is a gigantic anchorfest on the down arrow (which would be considered a left-handed pattern). This is just a pain to play.
- 116.99s: missed 4th to high-pitched synth
- 120.20-133.93s: this section could go entirely without jacks, especially the long down jack; plain awkward to hit
- 123.73s: arrows should change according to pitch
- 134.14s: the 16ths don't begin until 134.35s
- 136.93-152.57s: I don't get why this section has to be all 8th anchor streams, despite a repeating sound from a difficult-to-hear synth. At least the main melody seems relatively PR.
- 151.50s: again, minijack from the jumpglut is more of a pain at this bpm
- Summary: It started out as an improvement from the previous "I" file I reviewed a while ago, but then the file also went downhill. I can't really find any charm by adding so many long anchor jacks at a song this fast.

- 16.33s,22.95s: missed 32nd to bass
- 24.86s: you should definitely end with the piano chord here and not leave the player hanging on the prior 16th cymbal
- 38.10s,41.41s,51.35s,53.00s,etc.: you should perhaps try to add a jump to the isolated horn melody. If you don't like jumps, try a colored arrow.
- 46.38s,54.66s,etc.: At certain points, the strings fade in and out of obscurity from a clear rhythm - at the very least, they don't sound like 24ths at these points. You should investigate this, as it could make the long stream more interesting than it is now, which drags on a bit as is.
- 76.23s: it is around this point where the ascending 32nd pattern doesn't flow well anymore. It could definitely be a single transition within this point, but please rearrange some of the stream around here.
- Summary: Quite a fun file! The 24th stream is suspect in certain areas, and the 32nds near the end significantly breaks flow halfway through the stream. Other than that, nice work.

Rave 1 / DossarLX ODI

- musically, the song drags on and on with the same sort of "melody" but slightly different percussive variations
- I do like how the first part of the song is a good showcasing of gradual layering/climax theory, which helps for a very repetitive song
- 45.27s,etc.: the 16ths here aren't very audible IMO, but I don't mind them too much given the climatic structure
- 88.97-90.05s,etc.: these percussive sounds are just 8ths...I would probably go with 8th jumps
- 117.31s: rather awkward jump placement - how about a [34] jump instead?
- 124.19s: doesn't really sound warranted for a jumptrill wall
- Summary: Pretty dry song, but generally speaking the steps are as good as they can get. Nice work.

- 4.60-15.17s: reverse PR (though from 10.06s onward feels alright)
- 20.79s,etc.: optional; a few places could add an arrow on the deep bass change
- 78.18s,122.04s,etc.: I disagree with the stepping of minor whooshing sounds to 12ths/24ths. I would just ignore them altogether.
- Summary: Really interesting steps, masterfully placed. There was also some funky color theory going on in a few places which really made things fun.

- 29.56s,30.23s,etc.: optional, but you can also step the 8th piano chords (probably better as single arrows)
- 81.56s: continue 8th piano just for this one arrow
- 93.36-95.73s: optional, but the right side column for each trill could have a jump for the emphasized piano chord...can definitely work
- the flow of every single stream in this file is just insanely good, but then again, the song choice really lends itself to these sort of streams
- Summary: What the..did I really just give a 10 out of 10? Why yes I did!

Serious Shit / ilikexd

- 9.70-25.36s,etc.: I really feel that this complicated fast js should not be presented right away. This file could definitely utilize climax theory, moreso for a nicer structure than a request to reduce the difficulty.
- 28.49-44.14s,etc.: I'd argue that this isn't entirely a single continuous 16th js. There are definitely breaks within the 16ths (e.g. 28.55s,31.94s,etc.). And as mentioned earlier, save the dense js for the latter part of the song (such as 98.40s).
- nice gradual layering of the swing section
- 106.75-114.05s: make the repeated "chorus" more interested with the 32nds! Remove a lot of jumps and make room for 32nds.
- 115.09-130.75s: in contrast to the prior section which was really dense, I'd suggest toning down the js a lot since the song is cooling down so to speak.
- Summary: The technical aspects of the file was well-made, but the steps were pretty bland (and also way more difficult) by keeping the same dense jumpstream throughout the song with little regard to song variance.

- 56.45s,56.91s,63.63s: missed piano notes

- 85.84s,86.39s: what do these 12th/24th go to?
- 105.50s: misplaced 16th piano note - should be at 105.32s
- 127.68s: what does this 4th go to? I assumed it was the hi-hats, but you didn't step subsequent ones
- 129.15s: piano gallop
- omg the 24ths are mad fun
- 152.71-154.18s: personal preference, but it feels better when each babble sound goes to sets of three-arrow rolls here
- 162.92s,176.91s: ghost 16th
- 196.83s: I probably would ignore this last arrow, since it's a residual sound of "shin sekai" and not part of the actual syllables
- Summary: A lot of variety, good PR, and overall fun.

The Friendly Wolf / Xtreme2252
rating: 2.5/10 [-]
- 9.00s: straight up 4th piano chord, nothing special about it
- 18.56s: this is also a piano chord
- 28.13s: the strange sound is very ambiguous and should not be interpreted as 48ths, especially as we're just starting the song off from a slow beginning
- 30.52s: not 64ths, these are 48ths
- 39.04-39.39s: not 64th gallops, these are more like 32nds
- 46.21s: inconsistency in stepping the fast sounds. The prominence of these sounds with little else to maintain the difficulty makes for a pretty dry chart overall.
- 51.97-52.51s,etc.: extra jacks and/or jumps sandwiching 64th rolls is a big no-no
- 60.78s: see above, but I'd like to mention that modulated sounds that do not discern individual sounds should not be stepped as rolls of an arbitrary speed. This instance also creates a left-hand minijack. The need to make even these type of sounds as fast rolls suggest that this file is desperate to amplify an artificial difficulty.
- 63.82s,124.47s,etc.: stop making simple, single-note sounds more complicated with unnecessary rolls and other more complicated patterns
- 99.47s: good PR
- 142.95s: a 32nd [23][14] jumptrill is extremely difficult to pull off, nevermind a more friendly pattern such as a [12][34] jumptrill
- 172.51s,172.95s,etc.: why not jump or hand on these cymbal crashes?
- 175.99-176.65s,etc.: no 16ths on cymbal crashes; inconsistent with the single arrows of the previous cymbal crashes
- 179.25s: framer-unfriendly pattern
- 197.51-224.69s: the repeated up arrows is a novel concept, but surely it doesn't last THIS long?? Definitely some inaccuracies in stepping the percussions here too.
- 226.65s,237.51s: bad right arrow anchor awkwardness
- 224.69-245.99s: bad down arrow anchor awkwardness
- general inaccuracies in the drum'n bass rhythm scattered throughout the file, such as missing 16ths at 300.34-300.78s. You'll have to scour the entire file for these inconsistencies.
- 305.12s,314.69s,etc.: inconsistency in what sounds warrant a hand vs a jump vs a single arrow
- 308.50s: why the delayering all of a sudden?
- please cut the song!
- Summary: Where to start...the most easily accessible thing you can do is to cut the song. Considering how the song is very repetitive with the theme being fast-rolling percussive sounds, it makes sense to showcase just a small part of this song, not 4 minutes, even 3 minutes, and certainly not the whole song. The next thing in order would be to tone down the difficulty, especially bogus areas of the file that are unreasonable to execute - too much of the file's difficulty feels forced due to stepping dense walls of arrows to the same repetitive rolling sounds, and even questionable sounds as well. Finally, there are a lot of general technical inaccuracies of the steps themselves, so look at every aspect of the file under the microscope. This will be far more manageable once you've cut the song down to size, of course.

The Simpsons / gameboy42690

- ha, is the very beginning of the song a tribute to the Simpsons being yellow?
- 36.79-39.53s: it would've been neat if you broke away from the same old js for a short time and instead follow the jammin' guitar (and possibly at 50.50s as well if the guitar isn't exactly quantized to 16ths). It'd add more character IMO.
- 72.45s: some of the 24th patterns (such as numerous 12321 patterns) make this an ass to play. Perhaps something slightly more ergonomic? The difficulty certainly stands out here (and the end) by quite a bit.
- 112.56s,113.93s,etc.: I'm not sure what a few of these jumps go to, if anything
- on the other hand, I thought you would step loud kicks such as 115.65s
- 123.19s: all those turns make for difficult hitting of these 24ths. Acceptable but again can be made more smoothly too.
- Summary: Any longer and this file would've gotten old pretty quickly from the jumpstreams, but this is a good song length. The file is pretty smooth and there are very few errors. The 24th patterns are pretty hard, but not unreasonable. Would be interesting to have the Simpsons theme song featured on this site.

- 6.35s,7.36s,8.40s: repeated arrow to melody
- 7.02s: ghost arrow assuming you're only stepping the melody here
- 17.88-18.86s: patterns here create a pretty awkward down arrow anchor
- 23.05s: I don't hear this 32nd roll at all
- 24.53s: this 32nd isn't needed
- 28.55s,etc.: the gallopy columns seem to feel a bit better if the even-beat arrows were on the left column, for a right-handed person. So on 28.55s for instance, putting the left arrows as the 4ths and 8ths feel more reasonable to hit.
- 46.57-47.93s: yes, I know that most of these jumps are separated from the 32nds by one arrow, but considering the bpm, it still hardly leaves any breathing space to hit the patterns well. I'd still take out the jumps, or leave in the jumps and not step with 32nds altogether. I can't even clearly make out the 32nds from the music.
- 49.38s: are these left arrow 32nds even notable?
- 54.35s: this section is a real mess with 32nds sandwiching the 32nds, not to mention that you'll have to transition in and out of this pattern with the usual 16th js
- 59.89s: the inconsistent nature of the spacing of the 16th and 32nd left/down arrows makes this small section trickier than it needs to be
- Summary: A short, awkward file whose main highlight seem to be the dense js section starting at 46.57s. The patterns from the latter half of the song doesn't feel at all congruent, and arguably wouldn't feel any better at a slower bpm. The 32nds within the 16th jumpstream adds to the awkwardness.

-Oh my god the ending of this song is so dissatisfying, musically. Love the song in general though, going straight on me ipod
-Um, stellar chart. Few things
-I don't care for the addition of the 32nd note off beat 35 and then ignoring it for the remaining 3 notes. Feels incomplete. Especially not at beat 36.
-Missing an arrow at beat 183.667
-The file has a very liberal flow to it in general, so it's hard to say what should and shouldn't be around. tbh it could be improved on to form a file that might suit the song a little better. I think the collab in general hurt the overall feel of the file, there are very dense sections and sections that overall feel voided.
-All that said it's still a great file.

-It's a bit out of my difficulty range, but I think the file looks very obviously correct. The patterns seem like they'd be a great nuisance for mindblocks, though.
-There's a running theme in songs this batch that end either before or after you expect them to. Nothing to do with anything other than it's odd that they're all appearing at once.
-I think the 4th at beat 41 should be on a 2 not a 3.
-I really dislike the 64ths in the stream. It just makes it look really confusing, and I don't hear a good cause for them to be there.
-skipped a 32nd at beat 101.625.
-I like the solos a lot. They're super hard but really fun.

u cheeky thing u
-beat 42 and 50 don't need jumps
-you might be better of changing the layering in the beginning so that it stays with the lower guitar chord and drums. The way it is now is inconsistent because it doesn't fit right.
-Let's take a look at measure 53, shall we? What you have stepped is actually incorrect, sadly. They are 12ths, not spread as 16ths. Because of this, you might be better off doing one of two things:
1)layering the drums for jumps or
2) cutting the 16ths altogether (which would fit nicely as the music changes quite a bit there) and just using the 12ths for jumps until the next measure.
-speaking of the next measure, what difficulty spikes you have. Plus that 8th jump is a 12th too late.
-I like most of the file, it's just a bit of a mess with the 24ths and some janky layering options.

[6.5/10] A White Cat Sings Lovely Jazz Waltz / OSTER Project // ilikexd & jimerax
// There's a section (and its repeat) where the layering needs work, some hand usage is a little spotty, and there's a lot of other stuff that can be touched up.
19.10s: Move to 4: it being on 2 creates a left-hand minitrill, and these five 12ths are an ascent with no repeated notes.
20.72s: I don't hear a melody or percussion sound here.
20.90s: The piano note is only audible at a lower rate here and plays like a ghost note at 1.0x. If you do leave these two 12ths in, they shouldn't make a 1234 pattern, because the piano isn't clearly ascending over all four notes.
23.43s: 12th here to the snare you've been jumping?
25.71s: The sound this roll goes to is very light, and the steps mask the more audible harmonica sound that does 12ths.
29.53s: No melody or percussion sound here.
32.15s: This arrow, the sound to it is closer to halfway between the two arrows around it, around the 32nd at 32.13s. It's the last note that should be off-rhythm from the other three (faster), not the first one (slower). So the pattern would be better as 2341.
34.26s: This sound is very light and wouldn't be noticeable if you didn't step it. Hard to tell if it really is a 16th and not just another 12th.
35.71, 35.98s: These are like 32.75s, which was a 24th. Really, the sound is on the 192nd between the 32nd and 24th, which is like a 5 ms difference, but these three arrows should be the same color. 32.75s seems to be the only one that isn't a 32nd.
36.83s: Not an audible melody note at 1.0x.
38.15, 38.69, 40.04s: Similar to 32.75s.
47.39s: Melody peaks here, not on the previous 4th. The two notes around this one are the same pitch in the harmonica.
50.36, 50.72s: The second sounds of these minijacks are audibly stronger than the first ones, so breaking the minijacks would make more sense.
51.08s: The piano does slightly-faster-than-32nds starting from the 4th (it does have a couple softer notes before the 4th, but they blend in with the other sounds at 1.0x), and they can be stepped as 32nds with a sub-beat to move the last 32nd at 51.325s to 51.320s (but 5 ms doesn't mean much on FFR). Stepping the more-audible piano here would make more sense to players than the uneven rhythm to the percussion that's not as audible. Then 50.81-51.08s can stay filled in with slower stuff to the percussion.
51.53s: Missing 12th to harmonica. Could be a 16th.
51.67s: That low piano note is on the 24th here, not the 64th.
53.16s: Missing harmonica note.
53.77s: There are five even notes here, so if you want to use 4 arrows, 64ths instead of 48ths would be more even.
55.14-55.59s: The sudden density here is odd considering how 51.35-54.60s was layered. In that section, at every three beats is either a 4-burst or a jump, and the jumps feel like they could be going to the bass. There's no instrument layering. Then the jumps at 55.32-55.59s seem like piano+harmonica layered, but the piano and harmonica have notes on all of 54.60-55.05s, too. If those were jumps, the jumps starting at 55.14s would make more sense. Also, the jump at 55.59s shouldn't be the same as the jump before it (try [34]), because pitch here is higher. Alternatively, you can layer more to the bass, which would mean jumping 52.62, 53.43, 55.05, and 55.86s instead of 55.14 and 55.59s. Then the layering in 51.35-56.22s would all be tied together.
56.13s: Softer than the 12th before it and shouldn't be a minijack.
65.14s: Odd to jump the chord here and not the piano roll into it.
70.81-81.08s: There are seven missing notes to the harmonica here (70.99, 72.62, 72.89, 74.24, 77.48, 79.10, and 80.72s) and four missing notes to percussion (72.17, 73.79, 78.65, 80.18s). It doesn't look like you didn't step them on purpose, because there isn't a pattern to it. Try it with these notes filled in, and it should play better.
72.17-72.44s: There's a descent in the piano here you can step 12ths to.
72.44, 72.98, 73.25s: Shouldn't all be [13]. Those last two do share a piano pitch, but the harmonica and other chords having different pitches make them not similar. 72.98s doesn't have a chord on it and doesn't need to be a jump, especially because that 48th is already there.
76.46s: There's a grace note around here to step.
76.49-76.67s: The sounds here aren't powerful enough for hands. 76.67s doesn't have a piano chord on it that you've been jumping.
77.30s is a lot more hand-worthy even though it has the 24ths before it.
79.91s: There's a chord here, same chord as the following 4th, so these two can be a jump-jack, similar to 77.75s.
80.54s: Hand to the crash. The jump before it can then be a single. (If you don't want to put hands to the crashes, then 74.06s should be a jump.)
81.54, 83.16s: These loud piano notes could be jumps. It would make the jump at 81.63 make more sense.
82.98s: Hand to the crash.
85.59s: Jump to the chord to go with the jump at 85.95s.
93.53s: Not sure why this is a jump. The three jumps here, no instrument has that X.XX rhythm.
103.97s: Missing note. The sound is soft but audible enough.
107.45s: The flute note is closer to this 64th than the 12th.
108.79s: The previous flute note is closer to the 8th than the 12th.
112.08s: Similar to 50.36s in that the second sound of this minijack is stronger.
112.98-121.90s: It's weird that odd chords are jumped instead of the crashes here. The chord at 120.09s isn't even loud. The high-pitched notes at 121.63, 121.78s aren't any different from 121.31s, which is only a pseudo-jump.
118.83s: Missing note to soft piano.
125.52s: 48th here; that 12th is too early.
129.19s: Hand here? Not quite as emphasized as the previous hands but certainly more emphasized than the following jumps.
131.63s: Jump to the chord. And maybe at 136.49s too.
141.58s: This arrow could have a grace note.
146.20s: Maybe step the piano roll into this note.
151.90-164.87s: Many missing arrows like the previous section of this.
169.48, 169.96s: Not the same pitch.
183.39-184.09s: May as well step this roll since you stepped the previous one.
That unresolved dominant at the end, ack.

2.88-25.50s: Although the percussion doesn't change in pitch, moving it around would allow more freedom in stepping jumps PR to the melody.
34.93, 35.73, 36.08s: These have main melody notes on them and can be moved out of their anchors.
51.30s: The 32nd seems to go to the synth, but you're missing the previous 32nd to it at 51.28s. They're not really that audible at 1.0x as 32nds though.
100.82s: Not the same pitch as the previous 24th and should be on 2 instead.
110.24, 110.60s: Since the 32nds to the percussion are more audible, these to the guitar feel like ghost notes at 1.0x.
118.05s: Should be a trill for PR here. Odd that you don't try to make the rhythms more accurate here given all the color you've used earlier.
123.87, 126.70, 129.52s: Maybe these should at least be jumps, because 121.05s is a hand.
154.40-154.58s+1m(3); 157.93-158.11s: 8ths to the bass kick should be anchored together. Does mean you'd have to change the patterns around it, but it'll work.
163.40s: Nothing to jump here.
180.87s: Different pitch than the following 4th and shouldn't be the same arrow.

[PASS] Firstaidvision / Pygmy Guru // DossarLX ODI

// Some patterns definitely should be fixed before going in-game. The sync gets late by 9-17 ms later in the file.
10.77s: Jump here to go with the jump at 8.59s.
20.84-21.09s: Should be 24ths because it's between the speeds of the two beats around it.
21.51s: The minijack is unnecessary.
21.59-35.71s: Good PR. Interesting that you ignore all the 16ths. I don't miss them.
47.64s: This 16th is pretty random given all the other ones you didn't step.
49.07-52.35s: So you don't want to step fast stuff to that weird sound, but at jump the piano on the 8ths at 50.03, 50.30, 54.39, 54.66s to show that there's something different going on there.
64.37s: A 16th minijack at 225 BPM is a no-go.
79.95, 81.67, 83.21, 84.92s: Not as loud as the hands at 78.76s, so these can be just jumps.
85.707s: Beat here. The notes are about 13ms late now.
85.70-88.92s: The jumps every 4th here doesn't work. It's not like the next section where there's a kick on each 4th.
90.53-91.49s: This is very annoying. It would be a easier if all those 1s were on 3 so the right hand isn't doing chains.
125.28s: Not sure why this is a jump. If it goes to the bass, well, you weren't jumping that before. You were jumping pitch changes without changing the anchor, which is also kind of odd.
126.38s: Buzz stuff starts here.
129.02s: Now it's more clear that you're jumping the bass, but it's odd to jump these and then not 129.91, 130.83s.
133.92s: There's some buzz stuff here you could step.
136.49s: Hand here like at 21.59s. Or step the buzz stuff.
137.24, 138.96s: Maybe move this note out of the anchor to go with the piano which is new.
151.35s: These don't need to be jumps.

[8.5/10] Jammin' / no // ilikexd
// Layering is spot-on, there's just that section of 24ths that's odd.
44.72-64.17s: These patterns may be too simplified. Like, I'd start with 432131, because there are times when the 44.93/45.07s 8th and 24th are the same pitch, which is audible even at 1.0x.
62.93-64.17s should be different from 61.27-62.93s, because there is a change in the latter half of each beat.

[7/10] Rave 1 / DEV/NULL // DossarLX ODI
// The music is very one-note, but the layering is consistent and the patterns aren't bad.
//The rhythm of the thing at the start does 5-5-6-5 in 48ths at 111.15 BPM (half the main BPM). But you start with a third of the main BPM and use red/blue for the sound at 3.70/4.11s as if it was stepped at 222.3 BPM. And you use 3/32nds which ignores that the rhythm isn't totally even.
52.39-52.89s: Only sound here is the vocals, so this PR is wrong.
55.56, 67.77s etc: Pointless BPM changes. Just puts one 32nd where the other one is.
58.23s: Doesn't sound like it should be a trill.
83.16s: Shouldn't this just be an 8th with no BPM change?
110.28s: Jump to the same sound as the previous two jumps.
116.69, 116.96s: Can't really hear this sound at 1.0x.
124.18-124.59s: There's more variation in the sounds than these steps show.
124.86-126.75s: The percussion doesn't sound like it's doing ABA every time.

[8/10] Run Run Run / Receptor // ilikexd
// Layering is consistent and patterns work well, but it's three minutes of a lot of the same percussion sounds over and over. You should probably cut this.
4.60-14.82s: PR is backwards here. The first 8th anchor could be eight 8ths long for PR.
22.32s: You have a six-note trill, but the sound on this 4th is different from the others.
23.69s: Sounds more like 23.43 than 23.18s, so just a jump here.
42.10s: Same percussion sound but a different pitch and doesn't need to make it a jack.
80.62s: Doesn't have a kick and shouldn't be the same jump or not even be a jump.
80.96s: Would a hand here be too much with the 32nds before it? That crash is just asking for more than a jump.
105.34, 105.51s: These sounds are a little light for hands. Similar to 23.69s.
107.21s: The minijack is unnecessary. It's two snare jump but they don't sound exactly the same.
127.15s: This jump pair doesn't seem to go to anything.
165.85-166.53, 187.66s: The rhythm of these jumps isn't really noticeably emphasized in the music.

[8.5/10] Schur's Theorem / w_tre AT&HU // hi19hi19
// Spot-on PR and playability. Just one climax theory note.
9.72, 15.06, 52.39, 57.72s: Because you have jumps to the chords, singles to these lower notes won't get in the way. The breaks feel unnatural because the left hand doesn't stop playing.
77.06s: The 16ths don't start sounding like chords until here, so the 16ths in 71.72-76.39s should be singles to distinguish the two sections.

[PASS] Serious Shit / The Quick Brown Fox // ilikexd

[6.5/10] Shin Sekai / cosMo // ilikexd
// A lot of weirdness in the layering comes from only jumping the snare when it's layered. Even when done consistently, because the melody isn't predictable, the snare jumping doesn't play consistently.
31.23s: Jump here instead of on the following 8th, which doesn't stand out.
35.65, 36.02s: Same pitch and should be the same jump. 35.83s being anchored to the previous jump is unnecessary.
37.30s: Jumping only the first note of a gallop in the melody is odd here. You didn't do it at 35.10s, which also has percussion under it. You can make the notes to the gallop stand out without using a jump by not hiding it in the middle of a 4321 pattern.
41.35, 41.45s: At first I thought these went to piano+percussion, but then I noticed you didn't jump the same at 40.99, 41.08s and then heard the bass that only has the gallop at 41.35s, but then you don't jump piano+bass at 42.09, 42.18s. So if it is piano+percussion, then 40.80-41.72s should be revised. And 43.01, 43.56s aren't jumped despite having piano, percussion, and bass. So right now, the four jumps in 42.64-43.38s don't appear to go to any particular thing.
47.43, 47.80s: Same as 35.65s.
49.08s: Same as 37.30s.
62.15s: Jump here to complete the percussion triplet.
66.94s: Looks inconsistent to not jump the snare here even though there's no melody note. The minijack in the piano at 66.20s is barely audible and looks like a snare jumped with no melody note behind it.
76.51s: Jump to piano+snare.
78.72, 83.13, 84.61s: Could be jumps but are fine as singles because the melody plays around them.
77.52s: This first note is a lower pitch than the others and shouldn't be a part of the jack; 77.80s, however, is the same pitch.
83.87s: Jump to piano+snare here.
86.81s: Huh, you jumped a snare here even though the melody plays around it. Brings stepping the others as singles back into question.
97.77s: Odd that you put a jump next to a hand here when you didn't at 87.27s, which would have completed the layering to the melody over the percussion. The hidden minijacks would be the same speed.
103.01s: The way the first snare is totally ignored and the jumps start on the "la"s make it seem like maybe the snare won't be jumped in this section because there are more vocal notes to jump, but then the snare is jumped at 105.96s. It does make sense to jump the snare to make the rhythms at 107.80-108.53s and such.
112.31s: The sound that this jump seems to go to is a burst sound, not a single sound, so this one jump here is odd.
113.87s: This jump doesn't seem to go to anything emphasized.
119.21s: Just a note that putting a single to the snare does make sense here because there's a 16th jump next to it.
120.22s: You jumped the percussion gallop a beat earlier but not here, even though the melody actually does do a minijack into the hand.
128.96s: Move to 1 because it doesn't share a pitch with the jump.
129.15s: You've been using grace notes, so you may as well use one here.
132.09s-s: It looks like you decreased the layering to emphasize the solos here, but this section is just as dense instrumentally with the constant alternating cymbal/snare and all the bass percussion.
146.81-147.55, 148.29-149.02s: To more accurately represent the vocal, these two sections should be the same pattern, because they have the same vocal sound. Then the beats at 149.02 and 149.39s should repeat a pattern.
152.70-154.18s: Something like 321432 would more accurately represent the alternating groups of three in the vocal rather than having every six notes be a group of four then two.
156.66s: Would be better to jump this 16th instead of the previous 8th to make the 3/16th rhythm in the melody visible. Jumping 156.57s because the note stands out from the others doesn't fit.
157.31-159.88s: You have a lot of repeated jumps here, but the pitches don't repeat. Some of these could probably be hands because they are a lot more emphasized than the previous jumps. It's not impossible to make a good pattern with ascending jumps here.
168.53-168.90s: There's snare+vocal here, so there should be jumps here in your layering scheme.
183.81, 184.08s: Missing notes to the bass that you step at 184.54s.

#OFFSET:-2.089; (-49 ms)
// This is way too long. I'm only going to look at the first 169 seconds, because that's about where I cut it when I worked on stepping this (and I didn't step any fast stuff to the buzzes. And, fun fact, that's all my voice that Anwar used in this track.)
// I guess you stepped all the buzzes so you could submit it to the hard batch, and if you were to step them consistently, all the rolls would just be ... not fun, and it just doesn't fit with how slow the rest of the music is (it was written to be 69 BPM, not 138.) Sorry, but it's kind of hard to look at. It will be easier to give you advice when you've cut it and taken out the buzz stuff. PM me and I'll look at your revised file before you send it in again if you plan to do that. There's a lot more advice I could give, but if you're going to be completely restructuring your file ... Yeah. Be more consistent with sounds you put jumps and hands to and don't over-use them. Try different layering schemes and go with something that plays well and has nice rhythmic variation.
2.08s: Isn't emphasized enough for a hand. It doesn't have a low note like your other hands.
4.69s: This is just two single piano notes, so the 32nd shouldn't be a jump.
5.56s: Jump should be on the 4th; the 32nd is only one note.
9.04s: This chord is basically simultaneous and should just be a hand.
10.78s: This one is more audibly broken than the previous chord but by very little, like only a 96th. Also, this shouldn't be the same pattern as the previous hand because the chord is lower.
13.17s: No low note here like at 12.30s, so this one should be just a jump.
18.61, 19.04s: Jumps to chords.
21.22s: No low note and should be a pseudo-jump like 24.26s.
And that should fix up everything to the "hand = low+chord, jump = chord or low+high" scheme you tried to go for.
28.61s: If you want to be precise, the clicks your 48ths go to don't start until here, and the sounds are all a 96th after the 48ths, which makes them white and orange. If you want to step buzzy stuff, the sounds at 28.55, 28.99, 29.35, 29.66s should be accentuated. The clicking sound stops at 29.24, so your 32nds from there to 29.58s basically go to nothing.
29.69s: Not really a sound to put a jump on.
30.56s: This is 48ths, not 64ths.
30.89-31.22s: The same sound continues here as 48ths.
31.43-31.65s: The sound switches to 48ths again here.
30.56-31.81s: So when you do it accurately, you feel how not fun it is to play, so ... yeah.
31.98-32.41s: The percussion doesn't alternate pitch here, there's more variation than that, so this shouldn't be a trill.
33.06s: Should just be a 16th here.
35.13-36.00s: These piano notes aren't even chords and shouldn't be hands.
39.04-39.42s: The rhythm is just 32nds here.
57.74s: Now here is when you can start using hands to crashes like this.
60.24, 60.45s: The minijack is wrong, because it's these two 16ths that have the same percussion sound on them.
61.22, 61.87s: You shouldn't have the same jump in a row like this when the two piano chords are different.
67.74, 68.82s: These sounds are very light and definitely shouldn't be hands. The loud crashes on 68.17, 68.61s make them more worthy.
92.63s: These notes are pretty weird no matter where you step them because of the fade-in.
99.48-112.52s: This is good.
113.39-137.74s: Nice that there are no buzzes here, but the jumps to the snare are very inconsistent.
142.95s: Shouldn't be all jumps. It just doesn't fit the music.
157.08s: Odd for these to be jumps when they aren't that more emphasized than the singles around it.

[7.5/10] The Simpsons / Powerglove // gameboy42690
// Has some odd layering but is mostly good.
7.47s+2m(3): Feels incomplete to not step the whole percussion triplets.
21.18, 21.53s+2m(3): Jumps here instead of 21.01, 21.36s to the guitar. But if you'd rather jump the percussion, then also jump 21.10s, because it gallops.
37.98-38.24s: Should be a trill to the weird guitar sound.
42.27, 42.78, 43.64, 44.16s: Hands here would make sense to distinguish them from jumps to the melody without crashes, like 43.13 and 43.47s.
50.50-51.70s: A long irrelevant anchor. Maybe the jumps here could go to the guitar or percussion; the jump every 8th feels arbitrary.
76.21s: Missing jump to the same sound as 74.84s. Adding the jump in does make patterning a little more tricky, but it should work.
78.61s: Has the same guitar pitch as the 8th before it and should be a jump with it. Then, because the jump at 78.78s would get in the way, that could be a single.
81.70s: Same as 76.21s.
84.27s: Maybe not a jump because it doesn't go to the main guitar or percussion.
84.78s: Good spot for a hand if you want to use more of them.
84.78-88.21s: It's not the same three pitches repeated, so these patterns should be changed up. The notes the sets of three end on ascend.
97.81, 98.50s: These are jumps to different sounds and shouldn't be the same. 97.81s should be a closed jump [12] [23] [34] like all your other jumps to the snare.
112.56, 113.93, 114.61s: These jumps that don't go to the main melody are odd, especially because you're jumping them instead of the snare.
124.56s: Maybe change the contour to distinguish this section because it has percussion that wasn't in the first half of the 24th stuff.

[6/10] this will be the sales event of the year / Nero's Day at Disneyland // DossarLX ODI
// Odd subbeat usage and intro sync, has some ghost arrows and some patterns that could go better with the music.
There's a sound at 3.380s, but the first sound to what you start stepping is closer to 3.456s, so you're about a frame early. That then puts the second note about right at 3.618s. 5.83-7.71s are all noticeably early. It's odd that you're not syncing the beats to what feels like the only instrument with a melody here. Like you have a subbeat at 7.356s though the note plays closer to 7.418s.
5.48s should be a 1 because it's so low. There are repeated pitches at 6.34/6.51, 7.35/7.54, 8.40/8.74 that you don't step despite stepping others.
12.67-14.11s: A few missing notes in here.
14.149s: If the white arrow goes to the random sine wave, it should be here.
14.63s: Don't jump the echo here if you're not going to jump it at 16.79.
14.90s: This arrow can be removed because it plays like the music does five straight 32nds here when it doesn't.
15.25s: The sound these arrows go to has a peak here; it's not a trill.
15.78s: Ghost note. There's just the 32nd gallop there.
15.94s: Missing percussion gallop.
16.86s: Had to go down to 0.5x to hear the note here. Don't step sounds that don't make sense at 0.8~1.0x
16.79, 16.93s: These audibly have the same percussion sound on them and can be the same arrow.
17.20, 17.33s: Similarly, these have the same snare on them.
17.23s: Feels like there should be a 32nd here.
17.57s: Debating this 32nd here. The fact that it's hardly audible as a grace note into the sound of the following jump as 1.0x makes it not necessary. 17.71s is similarly indistinguishable.
17.71-17.84s: These subbeats are pointless because, without them, the 32nds are still on the same millisecond; all the subbeats do is let you use the wrong 32nd.
17.81s: Missing the first note, the 16th, of the stuff the 32nds go to.
18.25s: Ghost 32nd. Not hearing anything at any rate here.
18.48s: Peak here. Not a trill. This also unneedingly extends the 16th anchor of the following 32nd roll.
20.07s: The sound the 32nd goes to changes pitch here after the first two.
20.44s: Move this note out of the anchor; it has a similar sound to 19.77s which you didn't anchor.
20.78s: Put a subbeat on a 32nd, not a 16th, because you're lying about the rhythm.
21.15-21.39s: More pointless subbeats.
21.62s: Though it doesn't make a difference to FFR, it's odd to drag the first 32nd all the way down to between the third and fourth.
21.88-22.15s: Step these as 64ths without subbeats. Don't try to lie about them not being gallops.
22.74s: Doesn't have a special sound like 22.20s does and doesn't need to be a jump.
23.28-27.60s: Not sure why you stop stepping the 8th anchors here and then go back to it. 23.69-24.02s could easily be a trill.
24.90s: At least you've consistently stepped this sound as a minitrill, though I don't think that's correct.
25.26s: Note is on the 12th, not the 16th.
26.20s: Should just be a 64th.
26.73s: The sound these 32nds go to starts earlier in the beat.
27.20s: The only sound that plays on this 8th is the sound that should be anchored, which you aren't doing, making this 8th feel out of place.
31.05s: Missing a note to a sound similar to the you stepped a 16th to at 32.00s.
33.68s: Ghost note.
34.09-34.63s: The odd synth stuff here feels more jump-worthy than the soft percussion at 31.12, 34.90, 35.44s, but that's just a suggestion.
34.83s: You could step some of the stuff here to go with the following 32nds.
35.37s: Similar to 26.73s in that the sound starts earlier than this.
38.23-39.50s: There are some missing gallops here similar to the ones you stepped at 25.15-25.58s.
40.31s: Basically a ghost note because you don't step any of the sound that starts here.
45.02s: Maybe have a 12th here to the reverse cymbal. It sounds like a gallop more than straight 4ths.
46.45s: No idea what the word is on 222 BPM 32nd split rolls is in D7, but, ow. The sound these go to is barely distinguishable at 1.0x.
47.35s: Ghost note.
47.45-47.65s: At any rate, I only hear 16ths here.
49.07s: Had to go to 0.4x to hear the sound this arrow goes to. Can't hear it at 1.0x.
57.38-58.20s: Jump some of the percussion here like you did at 54.14-55.09s, because it looks empty here in comparison.
57.47s: 64th.
57.72s: Ghost note.
59.63s: Something like a 64th instead of a 16th here. The sound is a little off-beat.
59.82-62.79s: The constant jumps here are too much. There's nothing as emphasized as the percussion at 54.14s here to effect such layering.
68.50s: Missing 16th. Goes to the sound that makes 68.43s a jump.
72.01-72.48s: You don't need subbeats here. Just make the 8th at 62.35s a 96th earlier.
72.48-80.59s: Kind of expected some more left-hand biased patterns here, because all those sounds are in the left ear. Also there are a lot of 8th jacks you could step, like at 73.56-73.97s.
74.44, 75.42, 75.77s etc.: There are some loud off-beat notes here you could step, but I guess you didn't because it's the ending.
