It's usually better to ask the person if they know what they're doing Before stating their idea is dumb and pointless (when you're concerned about their wellbeing that is).

Also your expectations go both ways; you can post what you think, and people will reply what they think of your post. That is a nonargument you're making.

Fwiw, I also personally believe the idea Can be dumb and pointless, depending on what the exact goal is (see my first post here).
