It is not a fluke. Sometimes you are overly active or frustrated and so you rush on the arrows and make tons of erroneous errors. Sometimes you are very passive and can't seem to keep up with the arrows. Then there are the times when you are right in the middle and you are active enough to be fast, yet patient enough to be accurate, or something you are thinking about puts you "in the zone". It is all about fatigue, mood, and psychological focus.
If it is 4 in the morning, you aren't going to keep up as well..
If you are mad that nothing goes right, you are going to pressing harder on the keyboard and mess up your timing.
If you were just shot at and you are getting death threats, you aren't going to be as focused on the game.
These are extremes, but even subtle changes affect our bodies.
