If you think about it, 2D objects are 3D, since everything has a width, or it cant exsist. No matter what medium. Pencil on paper. The graphite is 3d, and its markings are 3d, though somewhat infestismal. A piece of paper has width, a film reel has width. 2D is merely a human illusion.

(based on 3 minutes of thought using common logic)
