I feel that Israel had no choice, as much as I hate War. Hezbollah and Ha mas, Syria, Iran and some others want Israel to wiped off the map. Only in that case they'll reach a concession. It's preposterous.

Here is the options Israel has

1. Wait it out while getting shelled by rockets, and let Hezbollah, Ha mas, etc get stronger.

2. Wipe them off the map now since they are asking for it by shelling them.

Option one doesn't seem very smart... now does it?

There is no other options, there is no peace talks with Extremists. They'll just continue hating Israel until either they are wiped off the face of this earth or the other way around.

I am a but biased toward Israel, I admit. Plus I haven't seen any great support to extremist plight aside from bending religion to suit their needs.

The most sad part is, civilians will get involved and killed.
