How do you find anything then?

Granted, every so often I will have a few MP3s I've been sent on my desktop and I keep them there because I want to listen to them more. Then I move them and add them to my playlist. This process lasts about a week.

I bet your start menus are as ugly as your desktops. Mine is four folders. Accessories, Games, Useful Junk, and Junk. We all know what Accessories does. Games has all of the shortcuts to all the games on my computer and another folder in it for the Microsoft games (I deleted the Internet spades and suchnot. I use the other ones pretty often). Junk has shortcuts to programs I rarely use. Maybe twice a year. Useful Junk has shortcuts to programs I use about every two months (Antispyware, etc). No folder has more than ten things in it.

That's it. My quicklaunch has no copies of any of the programs in those folders. I use the programs in my quicklaunch at least once a week. Most of them get used daily. The three showing are used about 20 times a day.

See, I get to know what I do and what I don't do and organize as such. I know that I hate having to minimize everything to get to a program I want to open, and I know that having too much crap on the desktop will make me lose time when I want to use something.

I keep all of my saved things (songs, anime, etc) in one folder on a hard drive where that folder is the only thing in existance, then branch that into categories (songs, anime, etc). That folder is on the opposite side of the quicklaunch. I can open it without having to browse to that folder. Even better is that I can access it like a menu and get to where I need to go in seconds. All without messing with what I'm currently doing.

But hey. That's just me.
