When a good friend of mine died there was no way I could escape being upset. No matter how much I tried to be strong there was no way I could change the way it effected me. If I could give you any advice is that if your brother is really sad do not try to hard to make him happy, it will only burry things under the surface and harbor more pain. It may even cause him to lash out more. He has every right to be upset as we all know so don't deprive him of that. Instead if you can't make him happy just let him deal with it through time and in his own way. Time is probaly the only way he'll learn how to deal with lifes horrors. Times heals, it really does.
