Re: Keys of Flames
It's so weird how people who like my files (Kefit, Hr2) hate Biaxident, yet people who have (probably) never played my files like Zag, Reach and Duk like it. I've noticed that it's becoming increasingly difficult to know what other people will like in files, so I'm retreating to solipsist arrow theory.
Basically, "**** all y'all".
Here's my awesome ranking of Lordly Caliber with my files disqualified:
23) Tetris - This obviously goes here.
22) Tetrimax - I know I used to step crap like Ninja Technique. Simply existing simultaneously in the world with the fact that someone made and stepped this song redeems me completely.
21) Sea Air - This song uses a form of parallel motion that I find endearing. Yeah, I realize the dude probably just loaded a sample of some pad with more than one voice into FL and started jerking off. Yeah, the steps are still garbage bye.
20) Carmen's Prelude - Nice pad file.
19) Sarah's Song - I like this file as a whole. It's so random and stupid. Who the hell would listen to this and think "OH MAN GOTTA STEP IT ALL!" and then go and make the file? It's... strangely refreshing.
18) Wild horses
17) TKM - Ok song with annoying doubles patterns. I tried to play it again, but couldn't resist pushing the Esc key. It was amazing; as though I had some kind of stepmania tourette's.
16) Sahti Waari - tg;dp
15) That Is Fair - Please stick to making awesome melodic music.
14) Mr 120000 is Sad Most of the Time - The beginning is unavoidably boring. I just don't get it.
13) Holic - I zone out on this file in a semi-good way. Seems to end before I know happened.
12) Wizards In Winter - Would be an awesome file if skauert would stop adding queer freezes to everything. I realize that there is probably some ambient background noise or reverberation that guides the mile-****ing-long-and-annoying freezes. While I realize this, I don't appreciate how this file masquerades around as a fun file at first, only to turn into a "challenging" file that uses queer freezes to make it harder. That kind of thing usually ends up annoying both camps. Just pick one or the other.
11) Sepia - Nice file, but some parts were blatant bull****. Was the person hearing some phantom sound that wasn't there? Bullsht is usually fine, but it's too noticeable in this case and ruins immersion.
10) Insect Digestion Melody - leel IDM.
9) Nice Nice Noise - Disgustingly good song. Somewhat tolerable steps.
8) Renaissance - Expertly crafted and often onbeat, although I don't really "get it". Still a good file.
7) Swivel - Step quality varies. There are some mediocre patterns. This is also a "plunkable" song. Plunkable songs usually need something more than streams. Mostly great, but could've gotten higher.
6) Sonata Claro de Luna - A few areas were slightly off. Others were total genius. I'm sick of hearing this song though, so I'll likely never play it
5) Mr 12000 is a Lie - Cool and I don't mind the bpm changes; red and blue streams are pretty refreshing. Ends abruptly, but there's not much one can do about that.
4) Milky Way Overworld - Fun on spread, but everyone else seems to hate it. I find the ending to be completely sensical and hyper-kawaii.
3) Flashman - I usually don't feel like I'm actually creating any sounds in Stepmania. Playing this sim is almost like playing a keysounded game.
2) You Wanna me - Coming from someone who makes and steps music, this song has a disgustingly high sound quality and is way too damn good. The steps are just about perfect. It's pretty easy though, and while good for people who suck, gets slightly boring on multiple playthroughs. It's not really a valid complaint, just my preference that things be a certain difficulty.
1) Ripple Star - You can say whatever you want about anything, but I ended up playing this file more than all the others. If that's less important than other randomly selected criteria, then all words and thoughts are a sham and we should go back to living in caves.
0) Biaxident/Abomination Street/Cynic/Emelia Finale - lmao owned noobs KIL WINS AGAIN.
