being a newbie is nothing to be ashamed about, if you know your place.

newbie = someone who is new at a particular game/forum
noob/n00b = someone who is new at a particular game/forum, and struts around like they're knowledgeable about it. these people are in such denial that they actually use this term to refer to veterans.
