Default Re: wanna see how a nytimes journalist fucked over the flashbulb (and a shit load of other artists)

"Urbina told Pitchfork that he used his New York Times work email address to contact artists after he no longer worked there both out of habit and because it was less likely to go to musicians’ spam boxes. He argued that he’s always been clear that the project is unaffiliated with The Times."
From the email:
"My name is Ian Urbina and I work for the New York Times." Later in the email, he provides a link to the New York Times to further elaborate on the project's nature. This is absolutely reprehensible stuff right here.
This makes me feel especially crestfallen since Machinefabriek and Benoît Pioulard are among my favorite musicians, and to see that they got screwed out of well-earned royalties because some hack dullard with the framework of a hackneyed idea decided to be a greedy fuck is dismaying.
Also, the absolute audacity to attach yourself as a co-artist on every single track is beyond appalling. I cannot fathom the kind of ego necessary to credit yourself as an artist on what is demonstrably the majority of another musician's work. The fact that he also blamed the musicians for not using the fucking Wayback Machine to do their homework on this guy is indicative of some seriously robust delusion.
