I unfortunately don't have much advice on the specifics; I had it lucky, and didn't have a dependent. That being said, the fact that you know you have resources is being two steps ahead of the game, and as much as things will undoubtedly be tough, hold security in this. You aren't going to die or starve, which is much more than some can say.
