granted I'm constantly talking out of my ass about these things so maybe don't trust me, but I get the feeling reliable sources will say it's not sticking around.

There's not much reason as of yet that it should stick around.

That and indices closed strong all around. I wouldn't be surprised to see a poor open but there's no real indicators of decline yet. Futures can be extremely manipulable as you have to get something out of the contract. They'd decline not just if the DOW is expected to decline but if it is expected to not come back up in time to meet deadlines, which is a much wider condition.
