if a community does something weird and seemingly irrational, more often than not it's just an irrational cultural belief at the origin of it

e.g. Americans make up a lot of reasons why you should do this or that about sex, while other cultures do not have the same reasons, and usually it's some bullshit cultural belief at the origin every time
