My line of thought was eh sprinkle new files throughout and use some old ones

but pretty much as long as the finals are new files I don't get the deal with using older ones.

And the finals are strictly to make it harder / more entertaining

I mean we have like 1,500 files in game, there's probably a few old ones that will still get people i dunno
