Why I like Archers:
1) Once you get Mastery, the damage stabilizes a bit.
2) Once you get Soul Arrow, you don't need arrows. In fact, if you make one set of Steel Arrows, you'll never run out and always get the Attack + 2 feature.
3) Once you get Booster with the other two items, you're insanely hard to KS.
Archers rival Assassins. They both have a critical shot (which will be changed so they both are 50%), they both have a booster which puts them at the same speed, and they both use something from the "USE" inventory to do damage. However, Assassins need to hold many slots of throwing stars, whereas you can just have a set of 800 Steel Arrows like I said before and never run out.
The difference is in the third job. Hermits get their new (EXPENSIVE AS ANYTHING) skill Shadow Partner first. Their damage increases twofold. Archers get a massive array of things, but the most important one is Strafe. With Strafe, you shoot 4 times insanely fast and get four chances for critical, still without using arrows since you have Soul Arrow, whereas the Shadow Partner uses stars from your inventory. Then you get Arrow Rain, which has a huge range and nails anything near you, even below you. Fire Arrow rules Ossyria's ice-based enemies. Don't want to take damage? Put out a Puppet in a place where it won't be hurt but still draws enemy attention! They get a haste-like skill too.
THAT is why I love Archers. I just don't have the care to level them from 1-50, since they really only start to rule at 50 and beyond.
