Think of your mother like your boss. She might Bully you and she might get on your nerves but she is in fact the boss. If you don't want a job to come back to then sure punch your boss in the face, but you know very well the consequences of doing that. Its not so much a respect thing its a common sense thing. If the outcome of a situation is not beneficial to you then you should always bite your tongue and wait for a better opportunity to arrive.
