When you look at the relevant indicators (and you can quantify them), and when you compare markets, the US is still the far superior choice compared to the alternatives (have you not seen the Eurozone crisis? The slump in China? The Arab Spring?). To imply otherwise is untenable and not rooted in any sort of reality/data.

For the US to lose its status as a "safer haven" anytime soon, some massively serious shit would need to go down. US Treasury bonds are about as safe as you can get.
