Obvious reasons. It would be great to actually get a shot at getting top 8. Mid to low D6ers are stuck in no man's land and pretty much can't get out without getting new genes or somehow convincing people they lost enough skill to get bumped to D5.

I already know the non elite POV on this. I'm looking for the POV of people that would actually be D7 on this.
Edit: Using the term elite and non for lack of a better way of putting it. I mean obviously all the people that land in the upper division are quite skilled in the game.
