Its easiest I find going from left to right or down right or anything really other then up and down. Kinda hard to flux my middle finger between both. Sometimes if I see it coming I'll just change my index and middle to handle the up and down before I go back but if I'm sight reading I usually suck at that part.

i play one handed as well. over time you'll find that speed is one of the easier things to gain (up to a certain point). however, training speed specifically never really worked for me. i've always tried to combat the styles limitations by practicing jumpstream, odd rolls, and other 'clustered' patterns. speed will be a result of this.
