I'm lucky that I live in an area with lots of ethnic grocery stores. I get mine from a Greek grocer.
Some health food stores such as Whole Foods will sell it as "sesame butter" which I think is the same thing (I haven't tried it though)
You can always order online too.

That said, I found a brand of sesame paste at my local Stop 'n' Shop, and it was pretty good too!
So check around to see, many western supermarkets are starting to stock more of these ingredients.
Sriracha, for example, has become hugely popular with many celebrity chefs. Because of its exposure on Food Network programs and other places, I can find Sriracha in any supermarket I go to these days.
