Re: Homeless in Austin Texas
Probably too late posting this for you to read, but when I was kicked out of a rental, I went to a free legal aid office that was downtown because I was kicked out for no reason. They actually didn't help me at all ("It's not worth the trouble, just find another place to live. You're a student, it's only a sublet" etc), but there has to be someplace like that. Sounds like someone owes you 1200$ even though you're charged with assault.
-Find a homeless shelter; there should be someone there who can help you with details.
-find someone who will take you outside of Austin and bum money for a bus ticket
-go to police
-find a job, all urban centers I know of have a building somewhere with job postings and free phone and internet for job searching
-try a public library
-try your friends in austin again...
