Default Re: Definition of Noob:

I grew up playing MMOs where people referred to new players as "Newbies", a term reserved exclusively for inexperienced players who had very limited knowledge on the workings of a game. I always understood "Noob" to be used as a negative term to name-call a "newbie" for being a nuisance for not understanding or excelling at a game.

However, today "Noob" takes on a whole new meaning. In first-person shooters It's a term used to classify any person with a lesser skill than the accuser. It's used as disrespect to talk down someone, accusing them that they have no idea how to play the game.
