I am seriously considering going to study in Peru next year for just about the same reason as you; to experience new culture and learn the language better. I would go to Spain but it's way more expensive, and I hear Lima is a pretty cool city from my dad who has a g/f there right now. There's about a 25% chance I'll go next year, which isn't too bad, right? I'll definitely spend some time there in the next few years if studying there isn't an option.
