Every time I have almost mentioned that someone I knew recently died, I stop myself. How do I explain to people in "real life" that a person that I knew from an internet forum and never met in person died and that it upset me? It was a long time ago, I had posted a stupid forum topic, I was getting flamed, and he was the only person that was friendly to me and went out of his way to talk. Just knowing that he was a real person and that now he isn't here anymore is very upsetting.
