The reason is according to the best of human knowledge people who are truly and honestly gay do not choose so. They call it multiple things in the world of psychology from gender confusion to a genetic anomaly. So there is no answer to whether or not it is "right or wrong to be gay" because if people don't choose it it cannot be right or wrong. That's like asking in this day and age if its right or wrong to be mexican
Not really. It not being a choice doesn't mean it's right. I am POSITIVE that pedophiles do not CHOOSE to be pedophiles. It's just something they are. Does that make it okay and right?

MrRubix brought up the Naturalistic Fallacy. It also applies to this post. Just because being gay is "natural", as in, you can't control it, doesn't mean it's okay. Otherwise you would have to accept a lot of other natural compulsions like pedophilia as being okay. Hopefully you won't admit to that - which completely voids your point. This is not a good argument for homosexuality. "They can't help it" or "they don't choose it" is not a defense and is irrelevant.

A much better defense for homosexuality is the fact that it harms no-one and the idea of it being wrong or a sin is based solely on religious dogma. The fear or hatred of homosexuality is rooted in disgust of sex in general and/or hatred/fear of difference. People who find homosexuality disgusting and therefore wrong, often have a strange fixation on the sex act itself and think that because they find the sex act itself disgusting, homosexuality must be wrong.

tl;dr: Homosexuality not being a "choice" does not excuse it. The fact that nothing is wrong with it excuses it.
