Isn't that the case with ALL ANIME IN EXISTENCE? The English dub never can even come close to the original Japanese sound track. Most of the time, the company that dubs the anime will just make up a script, rather than translating the Japanese script.
And since I don't recall if I posted in this thread or not, I'll combine two things together here: my favorite anime, and defense for a decent dub. FLCL- without question, the greatest anime of all time. The Japanese version is excellent, and the dub keeps nearly all of the script in tact. The few things that they changed were references to Japanese culture and were replaced with references to American culture (cherio pop replaced with crystal pepsi, and something about chopsticks changed to a conversation about sporks). Add this to the fact that the dubbers used the original Japanese soundtrack(The Pillows music+original sound effects) and just recorded new voices, makes this without a doubt the most faithful dub I've ever seen.
However, in spite of all this that I just typed defending the dub, you should still see it subtitled. The only possible reason to only see it in dub form is that you have Cartoon Network, but so slow of an internet connection that it makes downloading 6 episodes of an anime really lame.
