There's one simple reason for that: He's not an adult. I absolutely hate when the court systems do that. If the person is a 13 year old boy; they shouldn't be tried as an adult. If the person is a 17 year old boy; they shouldn't be tried as an adult.

They are not adults.

Oh yeah, that's right...

He should not be tried as an adult... because think about it, if everybody who was not the age of an adult was tried as an adult... some of them can end up like the one kid who was tried as an adult who killed his father and got sent to the electric chair... and because of his small body mass, he took 5 minutes to die.
