You can tilt-squeeze, but I recommend using the select/back button. If you have an X-Plorer, good luck.
Squeezing is simply waiting 'til the last possible millisecond to use starpower and hit the note, right before missing the note. This will give you a tiny bit of extra star power to get those 7 points.
